Excellent, starting staying here years ago while closing on a property and always thinking about staying seasonally after selling my property at some later date. Been a overnighter right now for couple of years twice a season coming from Florida going to my property here. Like the park and sites, clean and well managed.

The campground and facilities are very well kept and clean. James, office manager is awesome and very helpful. The reason for the four out of five stars is your website needs to state Gander Gap Rd is a thru road to a residential neighborhood and the campground is split in half by the road. Camping is clustered with loud mufflers and music from passing vehicles.

Absolutely a beautiful place to stay and wake up at. We could sit on the porch of our cabin and look up at Brasstown Bald Tower. Great place to walk around with our Dogs. Talked with Steve in the office and he was very informative. Would highly recommend this Campground

Steve and Beth in the office are very accommodating and willing to assist you with your stay. The grounds are well-maintained and there’s plenty of activity. Your view is exceptional with Brasstown Bald as your backdrop

Stayed in deluxe cabin. Had clean linens and towels. Met my needs. Mattress wasn't as comfortable as I would like, but everything else was nice. Great TV & wifi. Grounds well kept. The views were great!! Would definently return.

When we went inside the lady handed me our tag for the mirror and a map showing where our site was felt like she was just there usually they show u where the site is no customer service wouldn't go back

One of nicest looking KOAs I have stayed in. A lot of time, money and effort has been put into this campground. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Bathrooms were large with the biggest showers and plenty of hot water. Laundry facilities were top notch. With the campground being far from a major road (3 miles) you really enjoy the solitude but shopping is extremely convenient.

I have been here year round for 2 going on 3 years. For someone who has limited finances, this location for year round stay is thankfully affordable. The employees are great and the facility is well kept. I can only hope they continue to keep those of us who stay year round, get these affordable rates.

I love staying here in Hiawassee. The staff is very friendly and there is so much to do especially for children. The extra activities are a plus. The cookouts and dinners are nice. The campground is kept very clean as well. I’ve been here 3 yrs and would highly recommend this campground.

The wife and I needed to get away from our daily lives for a little bit. Especially after Thanksgiving & Christmas holiday. We needed some quiet time and Hiawassee was a great place to do that. This time of year was wonderful. It was quiet for us and we enjoyed where we were located within the campground. The office staff was great as well. We didn't need too much to begin with.

It is AWSOME. The staff is the best. They are so helpful from the office staff to the maintenance men to house keeping ladies. Everyone on staff here will go out of there way to accommodate you. If your ever in this area and looking for a campground. This is the place. I give them 5 stars.

Great for kids and pets! Cleanest bathrooms and showers ever! Bad luck had us rained out most of the weekend but the clubhouse is a great spot to hang with a pool table, air hockey and plenty of games and books. Very friendly staff willing to go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable and stress free.

My wife and I booked this campground, with the intention of doing activities nearby. The activities turned out to be 35 minutes or longer away each day. We visited Helen twice during our stay, which requires driving each way on a windy mountain highway, which can take between 40 to 50 minutes to navigate from the campground. Be prepared for the hairpin turns, as well as the other turns that are about 90 degrees. This KOA is also not the usual KOA my wife and I are accustomed to, such as Twin Mountain in NH. We didn't realize about half the RV and cabin sites were long term rentals, aka seasonal individuals. Our site was nestled between all of those, though few people were here this week near us. It was also odd to have the KOA store closed on Sunday and Wednesday during our stay. The nearest grocery store is about 15-20 minutes away. The cabins are nice inside, and provide the necessary amenities, to reduce eating out at restaurants. We encountered some deer everyday we were here. I've attached photos below to show how close they will come.
