While I appreciate the views and kids area, I was very concerned on the vehicle speed through there. My kids & I were walking through the playground to get to one of the side roads & a vehicle was speeding & almost hit us. The person was staying at one of the cabins behind the office. Also, others from up the hill were speeding. I'm not sure if it's safe for my kids or family.

This is one of my favorite places to stay. The area surrounding Hiawassee is terrific and the RV park is excellent. The most outstanding thing about the park is the STAFF. They are second to none! Bruce Wagar

Very nice campground. We stayed in a cabin which was very nice. It had a refrigerator and microwave. It had bunk beds we didn't need. We we're very satisfied with the size cleanliness and price of the cabin. When storm Isiais was heading toward our home in Alabama we had to check out early which they allowed. I was very grateful for that. The office does not answer there phone.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Inside the cabin was very clean and stocked with ample linens. We enjoyed the outside grill and fire pit. We will definitely book another stay.

Cars drive really fast coming and going in and out of the campground. It appears there are long term campers/tenants, who may live there.

We checked in on Friday, 10/2/26. 30 minutes later, there was no internet, no access to put a TV on. This continued until Monday morning. We had to head to a coffee shop several times to even get access to phone other than SOS/Satellite. Clearly the goal is to be disconnected, however, we needed to keep checking on a managed restaurant 800 miles away. A discount would be great for this.

Lots of fun activities for the kids and love the way the sure was set up. Nice add on with the water being there. Very clean facility! Bathrooms were super clean!

Always very friendly and accomadating, very clean. This time was very empty, but we were still charged $25 for asking to have a certain spot.......the wifi was out 2 days or more, not their fault but still.......we have ours but the people with us in the cabins were pretty bored........

Absolute joy, the cabin accommodations were exceptional, clean, well maintained. So cute. Dog friendly, even provided dog bowls. The campground itself was beautiful, well kept, lots of activities available. Scenery was breathtaking. Staff were all professional and positive. Will make this trip again.

Beautiful park like setting, but! Literally no WiFi during the 2days we stayed. Also, no phone service for T Mobile users. The office said only ATT has cell service for the park. So unless you travel with access to your own WiFi, or don't mind being off the grid, I wouldn't stay here again. Also the office closes early, 5:00 pm, so if you need ice or firewood you'll have to go to town.

We stayed in a cabin and it was amazing. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed. I love staying at campgrounds that have a fully stocked camp store. The view was priceless. This is officially my favorite campground we have stayed at. Love the campground, love the views, loved the other campers we met, and especially loved the staff. Thank you for all that.

All the staff was very helpful and friendly! amenities were nice, campground was great! Felt like the paddleboats could have been free for staying. We will dedinetly be back

MY DAUGHTER WAS THERE WITH HER CAMPER. i RENTED ONE OF THE LITTLE CABINS NEAR HER SITE, THE CABINS WE CUTE AND VERY CLEAN . EVERYTHING YOU NEEDED WAS THERE ..i WOULD STAY AGAIN

Improvement opportunity for vans. Sites have sewer but I typically use dump stations (yours was hard to find and sealed) as only 5ft house onboard. Campground was huge and wish we had a longer stay.

Came in for a short (3 night) anniversary trip. The park is well kept, clean and well managed. Lots of amenities. Super nice and clean bathhouses. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Park is well located to be near Hiawassee and other small towns in the North Georgia mountains while still feeling like you’re secluded. We camped on the creek and it was wonderful.

Beautiful location and the wonderful N. Georgia to explore. Easy access to the town of Hiawassee. Reception was friendly, courteous and helpful. Campsite was spotless, yes, spotless. Great maintenance crew, thank you! When we’re back in the area, we will definitely stay here again. Keep up the great work!

Clean grounds, with lots of options to stay busy. Cabin was very spacious and clean! Two suggestions: 1) more notice about office/store closure. It was closed on Sunday. 2) blinds in cabin were broken in several places, so people could look in. Look at having those replaced

We really enjoyed staying at KOA Hiwassee. We always loved the KOA's and have stayed at others. We love they were updated, the playground, and the beautiful mountain views!!

We enjoyed the beauty of the campground location. The KOA staff is very friendly and accommodating. The campground surrounding area makes for lots of shopping, eating out, and just enjoying the outdoors. We will plan to return next September.

Great for kids and pets! Cleanest bathrooms and showers ever! Bad luck had us rained out most of the weekend but the clubhouse is a great spot to hang with a pool table, air hockey and plenty of games and books. Very friendly staff willing to go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable and stress free.

My wife and I booked this campground, with the intention of doing activities nearby. The activities turned out to be 35 minutes or longer away each day. We visited Helen twice during our stay, which requires driving each way on a windy mountain highway, which can take between 40 to 50 minutes to navigate from the campground. Be prepared for the hairpin turns, as well as the other turns that are about 90 degrees. This KOA is also not the usual KOA my wife and I are accustomed to, such as Twin Mountain in NH. We didn't realize about half the RV and cabin sites were long term rentals, aka seasonal individuals. Our site was nestled between all of those, though few people were here this week near us. It was also odd to have the KOA store closed on Sunday and Wednesday during our stay. The nearest grocery store is about 15-20 minutes away. The cabins are nice inside, and provide the necessary amenities, to reduce eating out at restaurants. We encountered some deer everyday we were here. I've attached photos below to show how close they will come.
