From I-81 Exit 257, take 11N 1/10 mile.
Turn right onto Route 608 (Mauzy-Athlone Rd)
Continue on Route 608 for 4 miles.
Drive forward into our driveway at the end of Route 608.

We are located in the heart of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley!
Shenandoah National Park is a 34 mile scenic drive from the campground. Whether you're seeking a backcountry trip, pet-friendly hike or an epic overlook spot - there's over 500 miles of trails. Skyline Drive runs 105 miles and there are four entrance stations. Our KOA is situated between the two middle points. We mapped out the perfect route of recommended activities along the way!
First, plug the Thornton Gap Entrance Station into your GPS to begin your scenic drive through New Market. If you're a big breakfast person, indulge in a hearty meal at The Southern Kitchen. If you're into light fare brekkie, grab coffee and a blueberry scone from Jackson's Corner. Pop into Jon Henry's General Store to marvel through nostalgic novelties plus a plethora of local treats and eats. Check out the breathtaking natural wonders of Luray Caverns.
Once you enter Shenandoah National Park, simply enjoy the drive. Bask in sweeping mountain views and explore many waterfalls and 70+ overlooks. Stony Man via Appalachian Trail is the perfect 1.5 mile trail with excellent views. Hit up Old Rag Mountain Loop for the intermediate/advanced hike with rewarding views. Incase you didn't pack a lunch, there's dining every 25 miles. Check this out if you want to drool over menus and swoon over scenic views!
Exit the National Park from the Swift Run Gap Entrance Station. This route back to the campground will take you through Elkton and Harrisonburg. Swing through downtown Harrisonburg for breweries, local fare, and shops are at every corner. If you've got the energy, try bowling, billiards, and retro arcades at Ruby's Arcade. The last point you'll see before circling back to the campground is Massanutten Ski and Waterpark Resort. Here you'll find an indoor waterpark, golf, insane mountain bike park, street curling, escape rooms, snow sports, & more. Alas, you'll return to the Harrisonburg/Shenandoah Valley KOA where you will fall asleep under the stars with a smile on your face.
