From I-81 Exit 257, take 11N 1/10 mile.
Turn right onto Route 608 (Mauzy-Athlone Rd)
Continue on Route 608 for 4 miles.
Drive forward into our driveway at the end of Route 608.

Massanutten Storybook Trail is an easy going stroll leading to one of our favorite overlook spots. It starts as a boardwalk then the path is smoothly paved ending with an observation deck. You can chill out on a park bench and bask in Blue Ridge Mountain views or continue down either side of the overlook. This is where it gets fun! For adventure seekers, there's plenty rocks if you want to get your boulder action on.
Storybook Trail in fact paves a story as you walk to the overlook. You learn geology of the ancient mountain through information kiosks sprinkled along the path. Look around carefully and you just may find mineralized remains of animals or plants from the distant geologic past.
This one is wheelchair accessible, perfect for little ones, as well as seasoned hikers alike. We will also throw in that it's pet friendly too - so perfect for ALL!
Take Crisman Hollow Road off of Route 211 and drive a windy road through lush forest to get to the trailhead. If you're still up for more hikes contine down Crisman Hollow Road for a plethora of options.
