We're Growing our KOA Family of Campgrounds

We couldn't be more excited to expand our portfolio and bring vision to three KOAs!

The Ugly Duckling Recreation Group was founded in 2020, after the acquisition of our second campground, as a parent company to expand our campground portfolio underneath. We promote and pride ourselves on being the friendliest and most helpful campgrounds around.

Currently, we've got 3 gorgeous campgrounds tucked away in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Virginia - each encompassing unique flair and amenities.

Here are the awesome locations to check out:

Harrisonburg/Shenandoah Valley KOA Holiday (Broadway, Virginia)

Welcome to the Harrisonburg/ Shenandoah Valley KOA! Our very friendly staff is excited to meet you and help in any way we can in our one-of-a-kind campground.  Being in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley has its perks. We are just miles away from the Shenandoah Valley National Park, which is home to the historic Skyline Drive and gorgeous fall foliage, a must see when visiting the Valley. We are also located minutes away from Massanutten Ski and Waterpark Resort, Civil War Battlefields, antique stores, wineries, breweries, Harrisonburg's historic downtown, caverns and wonderful hiking trails. Our staff has even more attractions hiding up their sleeves, come visit with us to find out more.

Mercer/Grove City KOA Holiday (Mercer, Pennsylvania)

Our campground is located just 3 miles from Exit 113 on I-79 and the Grove City Premium Outlets. Accommodations include large 50 amp pull-through RV sites, Patio Sites, tent sites and Log Cabin rentals. There's something for everyone  – from the heated swimming pool and playground to a stocked Kampstore and free Wi-Fi for your enjoyment. On Saturdays, in summer the campground offers Amish baked goods, wagon rides and more. This is a pet friendly campground, so you are welcome to bring the whole family!

Streetsboro/Cleveland SE KOA Holiday (Streetsboro, Ohio)

We are a family friendly campground located near The Rock and Roll Capital of the World - Cleveland! The Cuyahoga Valley National Park is also nearby for the great adventurers! Our very friendly staff is excited to meet you and help in any way we can in our one-of-a-kind campground that offers a variety of campsites and cabins!

The moment you turn into the driveway and meander past the pond to the 18th Century building that serves as the store and registration area, you will feel the cares of the day slip away! After you are escorted to your site, you can take a stroll back to the General Store to see what treats will tempt you. There are many varieties of the fresh fudge (made right here) or a plethora of wonderful flavors of ice cream that will make your taste buds happy.
Or you may decide to "wet a line or drown a worm" and catch some fish in one of our ponds (just be sure to return them to their "school"), take a dip in our refreshing swimming pool, play some corn hole, or find a new novel to explore at our book exchange - it's totally up to you. But if that all sounds like too much, you could always just sit around our group campfire to reconnect with old friends or make some new ones.

We know that each of our guests have their own special reasons for coming to each campground, so we provide places that offer a variety of things to do but yet still peaceful and relaxing.

Be sure to follow all three campgrounds as each have wonderful character and charm. Maybe one day you can visit each and share your stories.

We hope to see you at each of our campgrounds real soon!
