Campground Reviews

We were in one of the older sites barely fit, with our 39’ 5th wheel. A lot of garbage cans over flowing. Bathrooms so-so.

I loved how close it was to trails and the shuttle bus. My kids enjoyed all the activities even though we visited before most of it was open!

The park is clean and nice. The only complaint is that we were in a site that was supposed to get cable, but the only thing that came up were 8 channels that were not any listed in the campground pamphlet given to us. We even tried rescanning several times.

Great stay at a wonderful campground. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return in warmer weather. Got down to 24° overnight.

Bathrooms were dirty and shower room was not clean and had cold water and no lights. Not enough water available for tent campers.

Dirty showers. "Open" showers actually locked and closed. Staff didn't seem to be totally knowledable about the sites. High pricing for mediocre sites.

Very nice KOA. The only thing that was difficult was the tight spaces and it being difficult to park a vehicle due to the shortness of space between spots. Other than that, it’s a really nice place. We enjoyed being there.

Office was closed. Obvious not in season. Store needs to be restocked. Felt as though the person checking us in the next morning had better things to do.

Campsite and grounds were well maintained and the customer service was good.

Our deluxe cabin had no hot water and no water at all in the shower. There were zillions of ants and the heat did not work that well. When I let the front desk know they stated that we should not have been given that cabin because there were known issues with it. They said we could move but that would be a lot of trouble. I was thankful for the 1 day credit I was issued.

We never made it there due to the weather...

Staff was friendly, campground was clean and orderly, the cable was out but everything else seemed OK, great location to see some civil war history in the area, communication to campers about amenities not being provided or why. Would recommend but won't give them a great rating

The restrooms were closed. We had to walk to the main restroom which is next to the registration in the middle of the night. If it's under maintenance you can provide it before or even after the booking or even could provide other cabins. Very disappointed.

We had a pleasant stay because it was during the week and wasn't busy. There is a serious issue with pet owners who don't pick up after their pets. There are feces everywhere. I'm a responsible pet owner and always pick up after my pets, but I saw some campers who just let their pets loose on the site and didn't pay any attention to their dogs defecating on the site. The dog run is just as bad.

We arrived after closing. Envelope with camp info was in the box. RV spot not level. Ok for overnight stay.

We stayed for 1 night in February on our way seeking warmth in the South. There were few people in the premium sites which are very nice. When our first assigned site would not work for us because it was not level and we could not disconnect because of our hitch, they were so gracious to let us choose another site. We booked 2 nights for our return trip home to take in the rich history!

Very quiet and peaceful this time of the year!

Great campground. Even though it is off season, I just wish the camp store was open a little later than 5:00pm. There was a lot of activity at the campground this past holiday weekend and it would have been nice to get some essentials at the store instead of driving out into town to get things.

Great service and great place to stay if you can get a hold of somebody. Tried calling them several times to reserve a monthly spot left voicemail messages but no answer back finally got a hold of somebody to reserve a spot. They say they’re busy but the phones are silent or vibrate.

Nice place great staff and clean facilities.

Friendly staff. Space was tight for a large rig (45’). Deluxe patio sites looked like the only sites that will easily accommodate very large RVs. It was an off season winter stop so limited amenities were open. Overall looks like a nice park.

we stayed two nights in a truck camper,it is a nice campround but to many trees removed for me and my site #58 is not level at all when you back in front to back is out of level about 6 to 8 inches and there are no trees left between each camper wich kinda feels like camping in a parking lot wich is not good.

We love everything the campground has to offer with location, amenities and activities. My only gripe is tv sites are way too small. If it was busy season I would not have been able to pull in my spot safely.

January 2023 still our favorite spot to camp. Saw the new premium sites and will reserve one next time. Bathrooms are clean showers were clean and the store is nice!

Quiet and comfortable, good bath house and bathrooms …seems like it would be cramped in busy times but it was a great base camp for our stay

Great place and big improvements since last time! Went from seeing confederate flags, including an entire section in the gift shop. Now, none in sight, and now, campers of color! Gift shop has replaced the confederate flag swag with peace signs and rainbow Harpers Ferry stickers. Yay inclusivity! Way to go KOA. This time, we felt safe camping with our daughter 🌈

We love staying at the RV park. Staff is always eager to help, and sites are in great shape. Close to must-see areas and great eateries.

Very fun weekend! We took three teenagers and they had a great time at basketball, volleyball and the arcade. There's a lot for kids to do. We did rafting at River Riders--there is a walking path there from the campground. The only negative is the lack of knowledge of the employees at registration. I called ahead to find out what was there, and they didn't know much. As a result, we brought lots of unnecessary stuff. When checking in, they sent us to the wrong cabin (in a completely different area). Here's some info in case it can help someone be more informed than we were: The camp store is well-stocked. They have all the basics, plus beer and wine. Wood is $7 per bundle and they will deliver to your site. Coffee is available at Grapes and Grinds. The lady that worked there is very knowledgeable--go to her with questions about the area. There are a couple of restaurants that deliver to the campground. Those were advertised on the map we got at registration. The pavilion sells pancakes, bacon, eggs, sausage and coffee during the summer season 8-11am. We stayed in cabin KL05. KL01-KL07 are lodges with bathrooms. Don't confuse them with K101, etc. I don't know why they don't change the numbers...the staff can't even keep it straight. Anyway, the ones that start with KL are lodges (L for lodge). Ours was nice, clean and had the most comfortable queen mattress we've found in a campground cabin. Here's what's in the lodge, so maybe you won't have to pack so much: The queen bed is made with clean linens and pillows. There's a set of linens and pillows for the twin beds. All were fresh and clean. We only needed a fitted full sheet to cover the futon. There was a coverlet and pillow for that, but we didn't see any sheets. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom. There are also hotel style shampoos and bar soaps. Bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths are provided. In the kitchen, there is a full-sized refrigerator with top freezer. There's a microwave and two-burner stove. No oven. There's a Kuerig with four pods of various flavors. There are pots and pans, eating and cooking utensils, bowls, a cutting board, cups and glasses, and measuring cups and spoons. There's dish detergent and a clean towel. There are paper towels, toilet paper and two trash bags. Outside there is a fire ring with picnic table. The fire ring has the big grill that flips so it can be over the fire. If you are going to use that, you will probably need a grill brush to clean it. Hope this helps someone pack. Have a great time!
