Campground Reviews

Terrible customer service. Ignorant and rude and deliberately wasted time and denied service. Awful experience.

We had a good time over Easter weekend. It was cold, but nice for campfires. The campground was clean and well kept, I would stay here again, but now that I know the layout, I will be requesting a more private site.

Staff was friendly as always!! They had to change our site due to an electrical issue from a back in to pull through plus refund our fee. The weekend was crowded and friendly. We wish the pool was open but it was to early.

The sites in our section were tight. Some were not level. The advertised cable tv was unwatchable. I inquired about it at the office and they said, “Yeah, it’s old so it doesn’t work very well.” Don’t advertise it as an amenity then. Had to use my antenna. The store is nice. Bathrooms clean. The staff was not friendly. We won’t go back. Not sure the parent company has checked on this K

Accessible shower can use some work (pull down shower head). We were stuck out in the back of the park and had quite a way to go to the showers, there were sites much closer, but not for us. There was some problem with the power, so no cable at all. Laundry was good, but at the front of the park, so a really long hike with a heavy laundry basket. Dog park was good. Pancake breakfast really good!

Everything with the campground was great! Our only issue was other campers. They were a very large group of people from multiple sites, were up past 3am partying and being loud, allowed children to throw a football in the road which hit multiple campers and caused us to move our truck to the parking lot for fear of it being hit and damaged.

This was our third time staying here. We love the area and the campground is wonderful with the staff and activities' enjoyed the wine tasting for adults while the kids did their activity.

Very nice

Easter weekend with the family. First time renting a cabin and it was great! Very clean and the queen bed was comfortable. Plenty of water pressure for showering. We rented k111 and the views were awesome! Only suggestion would be to provide walkway to cabin. There's a bit of a hill and when it rains it's slippery from the parking area to the door. Make them all like k113! We will be back!

The campground is nice, and convenient to the downtown Harper's Ferry area and other attractions (wineries/breweries). The only complaint we really have is that the breakfast is no longer "free pancakes", and for $7.98 for two people, we basically got tasteless pancakes (even the syrup), and rubber eggs that looked like flattened eyeballs. We'll probably never buy breakfast at a KOA again :(

We had a awesome site. The only issue was hooking the cable for tv service. It was broke, but the weather was great so we didn’t need it. I do think the extra for the wrist band is ridiculous, since it’s supposed meaning is for activities, like the bouncy pillow, egg hunt ect. We are seniors, who just sit and relax. We bring grandkids every trip, but again, we aren’t using them.

We had a fantastic time. The location is beautiful and the amenities were great - the kids especially loved the giant jumping pillow.

Easy check in and friendly lady at the desk. Store is fully stocked and activities were great! The paint party staff lady was not friendly but she was the only frown we saw during our stay.

Good location. Well laid out sites. The site was level and all of the hookups are conveniently located. My only complaint is that the toilettes and shower facilities are not adequate for a park that large.

The location of this campground is ideal, immediately adjacent to the NPS where the visitor's center and shuttle to the town is located. There is so much do for the kids and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Only downside was the cable didn't work during the entire stay.

Location is great and the staff are wonderful. Did not like how close together everything is. We stayed in a cabin and it didn’t feel like they were prepared for such a busy weekend. It would be nice if you were able to get wood at night and have it delivered to your site like other koa’s

We stayed one night headed South, and one on the way back. The office has nice and knowledgeable people. The sites aren’t great. They are far from level. The cable is fuzzy. But the dog area is big, and it’s easy access to/from the highway. They also have a nice store.

Bathrooms and showers very clean. People were friendly. Location next to National Historical Park is convenient; which is where you can catch a shuttle to the town which has very limited parking. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is how tight the spaces are - unable to fully extend slide since it would almost touch other camper's picnic table.

We stayed in a deluxe cabin which was clean and well maintained. I appreciated that their were enough towels ready for use for our family of 5. My kids had fun playing mini golf and giant chess. Our biggest complaint is that there needs to be more hooks for hanging jackets, towels, etc. The wi-fi wasn't that great either.

Within a half an hour of parking our RV, it was filled with hundreds of flying ants. The cable was worthless, we couldn't get any channels. Unfortunately, the office was closed so there was nothing we could do.

Nice park. Fishing on site...only keep the trout. Courteous staff. Would recommend.

Very pleasant and we will definitely be back. Awesome amenities at this one.

Everything worked out so well...very nice campground. Clean bathrooms, nice store, friendly workers!

We stayed at site 32#. Big drop offs on both sides of area to park vehicles. No grass, very muddy. The office lost our background checks. We paid for twice. Then they wanted to check them again PRIOR to us leaving in 3 weeks. We had already been there for almost 3 months!! Staff grated cement at 8am and were super rude. I paid for electricity at their convenience, was never given a schedule.

I was sad that there was not bubble tea this time. Other than that the stay was wonderful and we loved the new spots added.

Helpful staff in an interesting location.

One rest area station was close due power issue. JUMPING PILLOW was close they did not try to inflate it and rep said it is only available in weekend. same with bicycle rental or pancake. nothing was open in weekday and lot of Bumble bees humming in your ear. no kids activity hay track ride, mashmellow or anything, Never ever go on weekdays.

Have to work on site leveling and cleanliness, showers and bathroom doors that do not lock !!!!!

Great site and location next door to the Park. Very well-maintained and spacious sites. 3rd time at this KOA and never disappoints. Good WiFi as well.
Apr 03, 2023
Staff here are great but some of the campers are pigs. Come on people clean up after your dogs and stop burning garbage in the fire rings.

We had a pleasant time visiting the little town of Harpers Ferry. We ate lunch at Beans in the Belfry. It brought me back in time visiting the Battlefield.

Great staff…..we will return in the fall.

Thanks again for an amazing stay! Finally got to enjoy the breakfast!!

Always enjoy our stays at Harpers Ferry.

We had site 101. We camped with a group of 5 campers and one cabin. The site was nice but did not have cable tv. We told the office and the said "yeah, there is a issue down there. There was no cable for any of the 5 sites we had. The cabin our group rented didnt have heat or hot water. My nephew was given a free night for the inconvenience which was nice but still not good to not have heat.

A last minute stay for us due to change in plans. Found the campground in a lovely quiet area. Easy to access off the route we were taking home. Staff very friendly and very helpful. Bathrooms in great condition. Cabin clean and comfy. Will stop here again.

Sites are very small, no room for fire pit much less picnic table. Watched several other camper move sites due to flooding. Had no cable all weekend.Called the office, left a message but did not receive a call back Friday, walked over to the office in the rain Saturday just to be informed cable was out and they could not refund me.I never asked for a refund just wanted to know about the cable.

No cable TV which on a rainy day was frustrating. When brought up to the front desk the guy just said "Yea" and that was it. Like it was a bother to him. It was 4 campsites total and none had cable. Need grass in the new sites. Everyone was muddy tracking it around. Not sure if I would pay the extra for a patio site again in the new area. Patios were small barely big enough for the table n chairs
Mar 27, 2023
The sites are small and not private at all. Plenty to do for kids and clean.
Mar 27, 2023
We enjoyed our stay and appreciated that the site had a patio given the rainy weekend. We did visit the camp store and were impressed with how well it is stocked. Staff were friendly and helpful. Restrooms were clean. There was an almost continuous noise/sound coming from the property adjacent to the campground behind site 108. Next time, we will book a site further away from the noise.

Only thing i will say is campstore staff member was not very friendly or helpful. Much more interested in reading his book than helping us. Gym and arcade supposed to open at 9, saturday at 9:45 still wasn't open and had to get a worker to open for us. Didn't show up til after 10. Was a rainy day, so wasn't much else to do.

Clean campground. The biggest issue I saw was that the non premium sites were to close together. The guy behind me had a fire pit so close it was have melted my siding had he attempted to burn.

On the positive - we arrived after hours and our site packet was available. Negative - our site was not level so we went back to see the sites listed as available but there was no list. Negative - we picked an empty one but there was no power. Lucky - an employee happened by (maybe leaving for the day) and told us which row had power and which did not (the one we were trying).

This is one of our favorite places to stay. It is also very convenient that the campground is located directly adjacent to the National Park. I look forward to my next stay.

Great place and big improvements since last time! Went from seeing confederate flags, including an entire section in the gift shop. Now, none in sight, and now, campers of color! Gift shop has replaced the confederate flag swag with peace signs and rainbow Harpers Ferry stickers. Yay inclusivity! Way to go KOA. This time, we felt safe camping with our daughter 🌈

We love staying at the RV park. Staff is always eager to help, and sites are in great shape. Close to must-see areas and great eateries.

Very fun weekend! We took three teenagers and they had a great time at basketball, volleyball and the arcade. There's a lot for kids to do. We did rafting at River Riders--there is a walking path there from the campground. The only negative is the lack of knowledge of the employees at registration. I called ahead to find out what was there, and they didn't know much. As a result, we brought lots of unnecessary stuff. When checking in, they sent us to the wrong cabin (in a completely different area). Here's some info in case it can help someone be more informed than we were: The camp store is well-stocked. They have all the basics, plus beer and wine. Wood is $7 per bundle and they will deliver to your site. Coffee is available at Grapes and Grinds. The lady that worked there is very knowledgeable--go to her with questions about the area. There are a couple of restaurants that deliver to the campground. Those were advertised on the map we got at registration. The pavilion sells pancakes, bacon, eggs, sausage and coffee during the summer season 8-11am. We stayed in cabin KL05. KL01-KL07 are lodges with bathrooms. Don't confuse them with K101, etc. I don't know why they don't change the numbers...the staff can't even keep it straight. Anyway, the ones that start with KL are lodges (L for lodge). Ours was nice, clean and had the most comfortable queen mattress we've found in a campground cabin. Here's what's in the lodge, so maybe you won't have to pack so much: The queen bed is made with clean linens and pillows. There's a set of linens and pillows for the twin beds. All were fresh and clean. We only needed a fitted full sheet to cover the futon. There was a coverlet and pillow for that, but we didn't see any sheets. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom. There are also hotel style shampoos and bar soaps. Bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths are provided. In the kitchen, there is a full-sized refrigerator with top freezer. There's a microwave and two-burner stove. No oven. There's a Kuerig with four pods of various flavors. There are pots and pans, eating and cooking utensils, bowls, a cutting board, cups and glasses, and measuring cups and spoons. There's dish detergent and a clean towel. There are paper towels, toilet paper and two trash bags. Outside there is a fire ring with picnic table. The fire ring has the big grill that flips so it can be over the fire. If you are going to use that, you will probably need a grill brush to clean it. Hope this helps someone pack. Have a great time!
