Campground Reviews

Location was superb - so close to the national park’s entrance; however, the sites are tight! It’s too close to each other (we had a pull through site). Next to your picnic table is your neighbor’s sewer. The staff was great. Everyone seemed friendly and helpful. We came a week before Memorial Day weekend, and they had the pool open. We wished the jumping pillows were inflated all the time.

I stayed here one night in a camping cabin and had a wonderful stay. All of the employees I encountered were professional, helpful, and kind. The bathrooms were clean and the campground was also clean and beautiful.

Was amazing, like staying on the battlefield itself. Will stay there again soon and am local.

This is a mass stay KOA, with a wide expanse of sites. It is extremely busy on the weekends and seems to be a spot where campers and their friends gather, since the site across from ours had four additional cars that impeded the ability for us to get in and out easily. The road going through is narrow; the ability to drive well if you have a large rig is necessary.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Cabin was clean, bed was very comfortable. One of the better KOA’s

Good clean grounds. Spots are nicely spaced from each other.

I wasn’t happy when I came back to my cottage and the wood I had saved had been stolen and it was to late in the night to go to the front desk and say anything.

Beautiful location but unimpressed by the care of the grounds. Lawns well over grown and unattractive, miniature golf course covered with debris. It looks like it can be a very nice campground and looks like it could be busy there.

Only issue we had was lack of hot water in shower in the main building.

Only had a short stay overnight, but it’s on our list to come back when we have more time

Nice campground. Close to many historical areas and National Park. Nice work by KOA on activities at this KOA! Would be nice to have a couple doggie stations near the full hook-up RV campground.

The grass around my campsite needed mowed the furniture was broken and we reported it to the office. The campsite could have been more level my 5th passenger side wheels were off the ground and I thought was level site. Beside these couple of issues we loved staying there. We already booked for next year.

We rented a deluxe cabin for our visiting friends. They loved the layout of the cabin. It was clean and comfortable. The area in which these cabins are located is in the middle of all the fun activity, therefore not as quiet and serene as the rustic cabins in the woods. But perfect for families. They stayed and participated in the family activities on Saturday and enjoyed themselves.

Bathrooms were very clean - counter tops, toilets and toilet stalls, floors in the shower area - very clean - thank you for that. The only negative we had was the very poor condition of the tent circle where we stayed, tent site 250. The roots and the valleys from rain runoff made it difficult to get around that area - driving to the site and walking. Certainly dangerous at night.

The staff was friendly and campground was clean. I didn’t observe the public bathrooms or showers. Seems to be a lot of amenities for younger kids. The only reason the rating is low is that the campgrounds seems crowded with campsites extremely close to esch other.

Impressive campground! Grounds were immaculate. All staff were courteous and helpful. Bathhouses clean and impressive. We will be back! Very impressed how the staff would come by every night and ask how everyone was doing. Well-managed facility!

The spot was nice and the wifi was good.

Nice campground in the shade, pleasant place to stay. Pancake breakfast was wonderful and a chance to meet other campers. If you are a history buff, the Civil War History is all around you. Enjoyed our stay. The only negative, the pad could have used a little more stone to level out, not a big negative.

The Positives: All staff members we encountered were helpful, pleasant and efficient. The beds in our cabin were very comfortable and the heating unit worked well. The cabin and bathrooms were very clean. Needs Improvement: Parking for cabin (K127) was very difficult, making loading/unloading a struggle for a lone senior adult with a small child. Stepstools needed at restroom sinks.

Beautiful campground with so much to offer campers. Wonderful and friendly staff who made us feel at home. We will definitely return when we can stay longer.

Nice park and amenities. Cost is very high and will likely consider staying somewhere else next time. We had some friends visit and they had to pay a high amount just to stop by our site for a few hours. Jumping pillow hours were listed but it was not open until at least 30 minutes after scheduled time which was frustrating for all of the kids waiting.

We booked a deluxe cabin , had a very nice weekend . It was very clean and a beautiful view on the patio . Close to the kids activities too.

The campground was 70%+ empty and were told that we had to pay the extra lock in site fee in order to have campsites near each other. This is already an expensive campground and it felt like they were trying to get another $100 out of us. We were not looking to move into different tier of a campsite that costs more or had different benefits. We put this is the requests when we booked.

Despite being yearly guests here, this experience was subpar. The campground was relatively empty yet for a 3 night stay we were given a campsite with large trees on either side of our camper that left us with very little room while 1 night guests came and went around us. The office wanted us to pay extra to be close to others we booked with and took talking to 2 people to get the spring discount.

We loved the new sites! Stayed in #107. Beautifully landscaped, level, loved the patio & furniture!!

Older campground with most sites being sloped in some direction. Lots of shade. My site had a loose pedestal connection. Love that it next door to the Harper’s Ferry battlefield and town. A very historical town with some shops and restaurants. Not far from Antietam battlefield.

It was a nice place to stay with my four friends. Bathrooms and showers were clean. No garbage found around our site. We had one group that was a little loud nearby, but they quieted down around midnight. The amenities were well kept and the camp store was stocked nicely as well. Everyone was very friendly.

We love this place. One thing though...the 4 guys next to us in Cabin 5 we SO LOUD at their fire til finally at 115 we went outside and talked to them. I know it says in the brochure quiet at 10pm but honestly few will ever see/read that. Maybe saying something at check in to be mindful of noise at 10pm. We were so tired from driving 9 hours. But at least we didn't have small kids or anything.

Compared to other KOA's, this one could take some notes. Weekly activities are severely underwhelming, and it does not seem there is any maintenance for bugs (three summers we have witnessed this). However, the location is perfectly sandwiched between Harper's Ferry and easily accessible areas like Frederick and Shepherdstown.

A beautiful location close to great hikes and history. The team at this KOA are very friendly and the service level is high. Easy to navigate for big rigs. Facilities are consistently clean and well maintained. After the July 4th weekend, the team diligently cleaned every vacated space of debris and the usual camping detritus left by weekenders. In two days camp was back to normal. Put this campground on your must visit list.

Great location. Some spots are a little difficult and be careful of poison ivy. But staff is friendly, bathrooms are clean, and had good amount to do at the campground. (Also just wish the pool had an adults happy hour)
