Are you planning to visit Arches National Park between April 1 and October 31, 2023? With over 2,000 sandstone arches and formations like Balanced Rock, Arches National Park welcomes hundreds of tourists daily.
Due to the large amount of traffic, the park has a Pilot Timed Entry Reservation System for 2023. Here is everything you need to know about the park's new reservation system.
If you plan to visit Arches National Park between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. from April 1 to October 31, 2023, make a reservation at least three months in advance — even if you have a park pass. The reservation allows visitors to enter the park for one hour. For example, if you buy a 9 a.m. reservation, you can enter the park between 9 a.m. and 9:59 a.m. You can then stay as long as you want.
You can make your reservation in one of three ways:
The non-refundable reservation fee costs $2 per car — no matter the number of occupants. For example, a motorcycle with one person or a bus with up to 15 people counts as one car.
Please note you must make a Recreation.gov account before you can buy a Timed Entry Ticket. You cannot make a reservation at the park entrance. Entrance fees still apply. Tribal members do not need to make a reservation.
You can also visit the park before 7 a.m. or after 4 p.m. without reservation. The temperatures will be cooler during these time periods. Plus, you will witness an incredible, vibrant sunrise or sunset over the park's horizon.
