Campground Reviews

I am glad I made the decision to book two nights here! it isn't the regular type of camping in the mountains and trees, but it had everything to keep my kids entertained. The location is great, the property is well kept and clean, and the staff were very kind, friendly and helpful. We would come back sometimes for sure!

Nice campground. Looking a little old. Could definitely use a coat of paint. Friendly helpful staff.

Really nice, large spot, clean, clean laundry.

Great site with trees and lots of space. Staff were friendly, campground was clean. Very family friendly. Tents and RVs everyone had a spot. Clean washrooms.

Beautiful spot, quiet, friendly staff. Would stay there again anytime.

Great campground with lots to do for our daughter. Nice clean bathrooms and showers and reasonably priced firewood. I think you could spread out the tenting sites a bit and eliminate every other one so they are not right on top of each other.

Our campsite was a gravel parking lot with 2 port-a-potties and a dumpster. Beside our site a contractor worked on the roof of the cabins being built there until late in the evening on the Saturday. We booked two sites and when we arrived there was only one picnic table between the 2 sites and it was broken. Broken table was replaced. Second table brought up was filthy. Never again.

The campground is full of activities for kids of all ages. We camped with ages 3, 7, 9, & 16 and they all found something to do. The staff were very helpful and the cabins had everything we needed.

For KOA, I was disappointed. The advertised activities include swimming, fishing and canoeing. Fishing rods were not available to rent. There was no way for the campground to get the canoe to the river. The pool was closed. The closure was not advertised at the time of booking. The bean bags for corn hole need to be returned at 7pm. Pros - scavenger hunt, jumping pillow & the proximity to museum.

Half of the campground looks beautiful, trees, grass, activities then there is the eastern side. Not so much-gravel, mud, port-a-potties! This is where we stayed for 2 nights with a dog. We arrived at 7 pm and the office was closed, so we set up in the terrible spot. Would recommend if planning to stay here, ask for west side of park or don’t go.

Absolutely amazing!!! Loved the site they picked for us, it was perfect for my daughter's and I. Bathrooms, showers and laundry room were pristine and gorgeous! The campground store is clean and staff super friendly. We will definitely be back at some point (we are from Manitoba so it is a bit of a drive lol), but will definitely stay here again. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

In a day and age that people rely on the internet there was wifi in the store but it closed at 7 pm. There is no cellular or internet coverage. Loved the blow up pillow for my child but some good playground equipment would be nice. The cost of $70 per night should at least have playground equipment. Other patrons told me pool was very cold so didn't try that.

This was our first time camping in Drumheller and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back! The KOA has everything you need (and more) to enjoy your stay. Lots of mature trees throughout the campground, the staff had everything clean and overall great stay.

For the most part the park is nice. We were in the 50amp section which is basically parking stalls. Again not that bad but when it rained the place became a mud pit. I asked the office if someone could add more gravel to the site to fill in the muddy holes but they probably couldn’t do it while we were in the site. Place has potential as it’s a KOA and those parks are usually very nice.

The one star is for the functioning hookups. The site was in the upper east sites. This is a desolate area with dirt and gravel and only two small poplars trees. We were booked well in advance but felt like we were being punished. There were better sites available. If you stay here, spend the extra for the pick your site and avoid the upper and lower east sites.

Greta stay, but wish the pool was heated!

Our family had the best time tent camping at Dinosaur Trail KOA! The kids loved the playground, pool, and mini-golf — they were busy all day. The tent site was quiet, shaded, and perfect for us. Bathrooms were clean (huge plus with little ones!), and the staff were super friendly. It’s really close to Drumheller attractions too. We’ll definitely come back!

Staff were great. Campground was okay. Very clean but needs some updating and a little pricey for what you get. The fire pits our group had were terribly placed. They are placed to close to the RV’s, making them fairly unusable. All in all we would stay again.

The kids carnival was so much fun! There is so much for kids to do and enjoy. The park is clean and well taken care of.

Was a little concerned after reading the reviews after booking a site, but after camping at this KOA it was a nice visit. My grand kids had a good time and asside from an overcast weekend it was good. The pool was open although the kids I had did not use it. The wash rooms were nice and clean. Only complaint I had was a camper next to me had a big dog that pooped next to my tent. Had them clean it

This campground has expanded into 2 or 3 'overflow' areas that are not fully serviced. Our camping loop had no toilet facilities and our fire ring consisted of a passenger tire rim. At the rates charged these shortfalls are not acceptable. The original campground with its mature trees and river access is lovely. Location is everything.

Charged $70 per night to set up in the dirt far far away from any of the amenities with only a porta potty for use. Also, when checking in the lady at the desk was very rude and arrogant when questioned about our site - said it was our own fault for not paying $20 extra to pick a site. Will not recommend nor be back. There are other campgrounds available. Typical KOA. just for the money

Very nice camp ground and the staff were amazing!

Great place to stay. Clean and well maintained. Staff are great to deal with.

Left the premises before setting up camp - booked site was occupied when I went to occupy - went to office and was assigned a different site - new site’s fire ring was a metal barrel full of garbage - facility as a whole was overrun - felt like I was in the midst of a circus - evaluated my situation and drove away - accommodation was not acceptable to me

Very accommodating and the staff are very polite Thank you for having us

The location and amenities of this park were awesome for our 2 night stay. Our kids loved the pool and bouncing pillow. The dinosaur museum was 5 minutes away.

Family has great memories. Good site, great showers, great pool. Lovely staff
Jul 21, 2025
The 4 days we spent was not really nice. There was a company happening (many sites occupied by them) during those days not managed by KOA staff. Noisy, not respecting quiet hours, walking on sites…
Jul 21, 2025
Tent sites around the outer ring have some nice trees. I enjoyed this site. I loved that it has a pool, lots of activities. Cute Dino themed things. Store with lots of helpful and fun things.

We love the space for tent site. We had enough room for our 10 person tents and our screen tent to eat. Toilets and showers were clean frequently, they offer activities for kids. One thing is the pool temperature is extremely cold so we didn’t enjoy it much. Still giving a five star for the service, site size, cleanliness, and activity that can be done onsite

Only complaint would be is turn the radio up in the washroom at least one or 2 more notches so you could actually hear it .

Love this campground - just would like to see the cell reception or wifi access a bit better. There was absolutely no service where we were parked.

Employees are very helpful. They manage to transfer us from the place that we wanted.

Every year we always choose to camp here. Very welcoming environment to the kids and complete amenities made us always camp here. Kids love this campground.

so far ok but zero telefon reception and no wireless on our spot. All others really nice but nowadays no internet???
Jul 20, 2025
If you have small kids, it is perfect. Playground, pool, trampoline etc. We booked well in advance in the lower wooded area. When we arrived, they put us in the upper east area which is just a gravel parking lot. Needless to say, we left early.
Jul 20, 2025
Up top some of the stalls were extremely small. And when we pay $70 a night I would expect real bathrooms. Not porta pottys.

The staff at this park were very nice and knowledgeable about the area. The signage when entering was difficult to decide where the office was located. We were camped in one of the upper areas which was rock and dirt/clay mix. While attaching the water, elec, you sunk into mud about 2 inches deep(no way to avoid this). All upper sites were alike. Tent areas looked good on grass.Nice areas for kids.
