Campground Reviews

Good location near Drumheller. The campground is nice and shady but very muddy after a rain. Some features are a bit worn and could use a bit of paint. Overall a good place for a couple of nights

Stay was amazing! Campground was very clean and looked after. The staff on site were helpful and kind, the kids loved the activities. Would recommend KOA to anyone who is staying in the area

Stay was great, we stayed for 4 nights. It's not a typical camping spot i would stay, I like more bush camping but having 3 kids we wanted to try something different. Excellent place for people with kids. The sites were a little to tight together and the rec room needs an update, but aside from all that, if we are back in the area, we will defintly stay again. The staff were great

Everything was great, the site with shades, the cleanliness of the toilets and showers. But the Wi-Fi was VERY BAD, even when the campsite was half-full.

Our stay was pleasant. The other campers there were pleasant. The amenities for families were good with the activities for children: pool, bouncy air filled platform was used daily by the children that were there. Staff were pleasant and helpful. We have booked for next year.

I book KOA because it is suppose to be a premium camp. The entrance to this park is worse than a cow path. Not night friendly at all. The sites are very narrow. During a tornado warning the office was closed. Where are people suppose to go ?

Next time we would like to have a spot in the treed area especially when it is hot out. I would also welcome more checking at sites for being too loud in the evening as some have young kids that need to sleep.

One of the check in ladies was extremely rude. We inquired about checking in 30 minutes early and she was nasty in her response- then made us wait 10 min past check in time to spite us. We discovered we had no hot water shortly after checking into the cabin and went to the desk about it- they said they would send someone and never did. Clearly don’t care about their clients.

Everyone working there was very friendly. The sites are clean and well maintained. I have no doubt we'll be back again.

We stayed in one of the cabins this time, and unfortunately, I was disappointed with its condition. As soon as we walked in, there was an overwhelming damp, musty odor throughout the cabin. I suspect it may have been coming from the air conditioner, but whatever the source, it wasn't a pleasant first impression. The bathroom also didn't appear to have been cleaned properly.

Very nice, well maintained campground. The front office staff were very helpful when we wanted to change our site and in getting a new table to the site. The pool was nice and clean. The quiet time was well enforced. Great campground for families. I would recommend Dinosaur trail KOA!

Amazing love it. Will camp again with family

The lower main sites are beautiful with green grass and trees. The upper sites lack a lot!! The site numbers need to be better, campsites themselves need to be more designated.Weeds need to be cut. The placement of the sewers are way out.Needed a 20 ft to get to ours, which we didn’t have. Used the neighbours. Need just toilets/sink. As cabins and tents needed washrooms but tied up with 2shower

We’ve been coming to Drumheller KOA for years, even before KOA took over from Holiday Trails, we were coming out there for over 20 years. This day was the first time it was absolutely a disaster. The Campground was in horrible shape, everything from the road coming in to the 2 foot tall grass, and some areas and dandelions everywhere!!. If this was our first visit, it would’ve been our last

Enjoyed the cabins, lots of beds

We absolutely loved our experience and the amenities. The only criticism we would have is more shade/trees on the sites. But we also recognize it’s a desert.

It was our first year trying out KOA. We had such an amazing experience, when we checked in there was a small issue with our site, the staff were so amazing and dealt with the situation perfectly. The grounds were very well maintained, and had tons of activities for the kids to participate in. We will definitely be back!

Enjoyed our stay. I would love to see a couple changes and improvements that would really make the stay 5 stars. My suggestions would be to change the pool hours. Personally I don’t mind that there’s adult only time but I would suggest it be earlier maybe 9-10? Also, would have liked to see the pool stay open later until about 9. 7 pm closing was too early. Campsites could use TLC and more gra

We had a trailer site and my daughter and her family stayed in a cabin. The grandkids had so much fun. Very relaxing stay. Quiet for the amount of people there.

A little disappointed that we were stuck with the tiniest sliver of a campsite with the campsites next to us for sure with their tents further onto our site. We said how many people we had with us (5) and I’ve never seen a smaller site. And it was also a bit disappointing that our site didn’t have a picnic table like everyone else. We had heard staff had taken ours to give it to another site.

We’re disappointed on lack of privacy. Was an expensive stay to basically be in a field, no trees and on top of each other (west side). The East side is what a camp ground feels like. We couldn’t even have a fire due to location of pit. Overall lots to do but disappointed in the actual site itself.

A wonderful place. We fell in love with it the first time we saw it. The staff was very polite and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Overall, a decent campsite, but mosquitoes were horrible. Also, sewage issues near our tentsite nearly ruined our stay. Nice pool, jumpy blob was fun, and staff were great though..

Nice campground, clean washrooms, free showers. Could use some slides and swings by the tent area for smaller kids

The new staff this year is absolutely fabulous, great to see some of the old staff, arrived late on a Friday night, got to my campsite it was very clean, completed my set up - the next morning, I went to the office to confirm that I was there and to get shower tokens, to my surprise there was not charge for showers this year. Everyone was polite. Luv the Canada Day parade put on by the kids

Stay was great. Only issue I have is they posted having a pancake breakfast on Canada Day and they then moved it to Saturday July 4 which is the USA birthday. Not very Canadian.Thumbs down for that.

Site had food and trash on it when we arrived. Toilets and showers were a long walk away. Laundry took a while to sort and little help from staff. Quiet hours were not kept too with young children screaming and being loud well after 10pm with no input from parents to keep them quiet, parents inside van whilst they just left young kids outside to do whatever. Mozzies were absolutely awful!

This was our second time staying at campground. Kids absolutely love it!
Jul 03, 2026
Overall the campground was nice, washrooms were clean, and the sites were well maintained. That being said- This was our second stay at this particular campground and we booked it both time for the pool, in which both times the pool was closed. Our kids were pretty upset as they had been looking forward to swimming more than anything else. That was definitely disappointing.

We had a great couple of days at you campground in early June and then 2 nights in late June. Each visit we were pleased with our rv site and the opportunity to use the facilities there. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

We enjoyed our stay and we're pleasantly surprised by the amount of shade provided within the campground. The mini golf is in dire need of maintenance (heavily sloped greens, ornaments that are falling apart, greens covered in animal poop and tree litter).
Jul 02, 2026
Very pleasant stay. Due to the recent rains the site was a bit muddy but that’s not the fault of the campground. We enjoyed our stay and, based upon all the smiles we saw, it looks like a great place for kids.
Jul 02, 2026
Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The campground was clean and well maintained. The washrooms were very nice, and clean. My only suggestion would be to add a mat(s) in the shower stalls to step onto from the shower to get dressed (rather than stepping onto a wet floor).
Jul 02, 2026
We stayed in a cabin. We didn’t have hot water the first day but that was corrected. Some additional condiments would be nice, salt and pepper, a few more pots and pans. But overall very nice.

Wonderful campground. Well maintained. Clean washrooms. Great hosts.

Staff was great! Good amenities and close to Royal Tyrell museum.

Although it was rainy, the 3 kids with us loved to jump and ride their bikes! They also spent some time in the pool. Such great options at campground. We also appreciated the store with the basics. We're looking forward to our next trip!

Went with extended family for a reunion staff were very friendly kids loved play area .we stayed in a cabin D1 bed was so hard no patio furniture and should have a rail on the steps but we were dry .Kitchen and bathroom were clean and comfortable

The campsites in the upper level were a little small and could use some new gravel to help level it off and reduce the amount of mud when it rains. The staff is super friendly and overall they were incredible. The amenities were clean and awesome so much for the kids to do.

It was overall a great stay. The only two concerns are: 1.) The Dino bunkie walls were leaking into the inside from the rain so the queen mattress and the curtains are soaked which in turn got a lot of our things wet2.) there is no place to wash the dishes. The place was the clogged up and dirty sink by the dump station which is not sanitary for health reasons.

Overall our stay was wonderful. Only negative was the office closed early on Saturday so we were unable to get icecream for our group of 15… even though peak hours said till 9pm.

Been coming here for many years. This year we almost ended up with a lake directly in front of the trailer. No one's fault, there had been far more than usual rain. As soon as we showed staff the issue they got to work. Dumped a few loads of gravel and then built us a temporary deck out of plywood and pallets. We really appreciated their efforts.

Lovely campground in a great location and the staff and management are fantastic. We enjoyed the various ammenties. My only criticism would be that some of the stuff is need need of updating or repair. The main playground is quite old but is mostly in working order. The other playground by the horseshoe pits is a residential style playhouse but the bottom of the slide was broken. The sites are close together but nicely treed. The pool is great and the jumping pillow is a fantastic treat. The shower house you have to walk through to get to the pool is...for lack of a better word...smelley. I don't know why it's so smelley but it's quite off-putting. If you can get past the smell, the showers are nice and hot so after being in the pool and freezing your buns off (it was not hot while we were there) they're nice to warm up under. I didn't use any of the other washrooms or showers so I can't comment on those. Fire wood is a bit on the higher side price wise and if you go down the road you can get the exact same bags for 2 for $19 instead of $12 ea. I also don't care for the fact you have to pay to "lock" your site in if you want to pick a specific site, you pay a good amount for the sites already, you should be able to choose what you want without paying extra. That said, I would have to say it's the better campground of all the others in Drumheller and I would return. It was a good experience and the things mentioned are just minor annoyances.

We had such a great stay at the Dinosaur Trail KOA! The campground was clean, family-friendly, and had such a fun atmosphere for the kids. The location is perfect if you're visiting Drumheller and wanting to explore the dinosaur attractions nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the campground had everything we needed to make our trip comfortable. It felt organized, welcoming, and easy to settle into. Our family really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun camping spot in the Drumheller area! Already booked our next visit.
