We booked before the the alert went up on the website so we were surprised at no laundry and no wifi Also ran into no toilet paper a couple times And when the store closed at 4 all week, we never did get in from touring in time. High hopes; it’s the longest KOA stay we’ve ever booked. However, as far as KOAs go, it’s the first sub par rating we’ve given

Needs hooks in changing area of shower Strong cleaning smell. Asked for a cabin change & they said there were none available. However, we know that there were 2 cabins which were the same type as ours that were not occupied. They did wipe everything down again & did give us a fan. Opened windows ate outside. Went to town for the evening came back & it was still strong smelling. Amazing views!

This KOA was under new management. The store didn’t have much (rightly so due to the transition phase). The bathrooms are dated but the staff kept them as clean as they could. We loved our cabin amongst the trees. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for this place. We stayed in a deluxe cabin in 2023 & loved our time.

This campsite is in major disrepair. Also very dusty. WiFi useless. Way overpriced for what it is. Small sites. Should never be labeled as a KOA Holiday. No laundry facilities. Staff riding around on a noisy utility vehicle kicking up dust everywhere. Only thing going for it is proximity to Redwoods Park

No cable TV due to new ownership transition. Office was only open from 1100-4PM. Roads have major potholes. Tall weeds in all campsites. Our pull thru site was extremely unlevel. Only one functioning washer and dryer in laundry area. This place has gone downhill! Look elsewhere!!

This was disappointing. No WiFi to reach our site, as advertised, and 1 of 3 washers was in working order and 1 of 5 dryers was in working order. We paid a lot of money for amenities that were either not available to us or minimal. I planned our 2 week road trip around campgrounds with amenities we needed and this did not feel as advertised.

Pros: beautiful setting, people were definitely quiet after quiet hours, easy access to highway to continue our road trip. Cons: There were only two working showers for all women staying at the campsite. The second bathroom has no showers or hot water at all.

We tried to call the day before we arrived and no one answered after 4 different times of calling. They were suppose to be open at 10:00am. When we arrived there was a line of RV's waiting to check in. The office was not open yet at 1:45pm. Some of the RV's were stuck in the street. Finally our spot was terrible, we barely fit and the grounds were overgrown weeds.

Such a great location! We stayed in a large cabin with a small kitchen and bathroom. Loved the cabin! We had to bring sheets and blankets and scrounge up some pillows and towels but other than that it is well stocked. We visited Kellog Beach, went on all the trails in Jedediah State Park, swam in Smith River and had a seriously magical time. There was a rooster that woke us up every morning.

This was a nice easy place to stay while we explored nearby redwoods. Late arrival checkin was easy. Everything was clean. We liked the rec room and game room and field with playground (volleyball net was in bad shape. but we didn't have much time to use it). The office didn't open at 9am, so we couldn't ask questions when we had them. We wanted to try banana bikes but never saw the rentals open.

I understand this KOA has new owners so I hope they can bring it back up to what it use to be - the last owner did not do much

During arrival staff was very courteous and helpful. Unfortunately our site did not fit our rig, bushes and trees had not been trimmed properly so our pop outs were scratching against them. Additionally the laundry was out of service and the KOA store had empty shelves. We were told there was new management and we hope they will be successful.

Everything great !

Nice peeople! Kabin in the Redwoods was very aesthetic. Firepit worked well. Mattresses were not super comfortable. Thank you for not putting a time limit on the showers. Whole bathroom needs upgrade with working hardware including door locks and hooks for clothes/ towels. Loved the provided cheat sheets for attractions in the area!

The staff was pleasant and allowed us to check in an hour early. They told us the laundry was being upgraded which was ok. We were near the office and had very weak WiFi signal which was very surprising. No cable. Had to listen to large class A generator from 3pm to 3am (like a truck stop). Their septic system was full and stinky but seemed to work for our small rig. Might be ok for overnight stay

Some big redwoods in the tent and cabin areas. Good location.

This is a tough one, there a lot of issues and maintenance that needs to happen. The camp needs some love and help. It seemed short staffed. It was not our best experience and we checked out a day earlier than planned, probably won’t make a return trip. The site we stayed in was less than desirable and not what we booked. On a positive, the playground was a bonus and the goats.
Aug 05, 2025
There isn't enough space here to address the problems we had. I will be calling the main KOA offices to leave my report.

Redwoods were beautiful. Tent sites could have used some wood chips or so to soften the base and keep the dust and dirt down. The bathhouses were not clean during our visit

This review has been removed by KOA due to profanity.

Check-in was interesting as the woman at the desk was filling in for the "new" owner. She was closing the doors soon (an hour earlier than posted online or the door--new sign stated the 4pm time). New WiFi and password were on the desk--take a photo or write it down (not on the map handed to me). When we got to our site trash was in the fire ring. And wifi was only in the rec ctr 8am-10pm.

It was a really disappointing stay and not up to what I'm used to from the other KOAs I've stayed at. It did not seem friendly or welcoming. The store was empty. Half the showers in the park were not functional. Sinks didn't work. It was not clean and seemed like only the basic maintenance was done. Internet only functioned at the main office. I rarely saw workers. I wouldn't stay again.

One of my favorite KOAs WiFi could be better

If this had been our first KOA experience we would have never gone back. I’m surprised that KOA allows for this site to hold their name. I could go on and on about the lack of issues at this site, but I’ll keep it simple. Save your money and stay at a state or national park campsite. It will be way cleaner, better staffed, and better priced.

Campground could use an upgrade. No tv either cable or ota. Had to go to front office area to get internet. Only 1st row of sites had partial coverage. I look to these sources for weather updates. Water pressure is low had to use internal tank. Camp was clean and quiet. Staff is extremely busy and friendly and helpful. Pointed us to a wonderful route to see redwoods.

It’s a nice rv park especially if you have kids or traveling with your grandkids. It’s a little pricey when you’re just staying in the area to visit and not using the facilities,

I've stayed in several koa's in the past and although I loved the atmosphere the restrooms were horrible. Management could really use some help here. And fix the showers!!!
Aug 03, 2025
New management. Nothing in the store and the campground was a mess. Never stay there again

Beautiful campground! Our site was like our own little yard-very cozy and private. There was a great dog run area too. Only negative was the bathrooms are in need of a re-fresh. Otherwise, an absolutely wonderful place! Highly recommend!
Aug 03, 2025
Location was great. However facilities need some work. Out of the 6 or so washer and dryer only one works. Everything was out of order. The showers were also out of order. Only one women’s shower was working out of the entire campsite. Cleanliness was definitely not a priority.

I had stayed here in 2010. It was very unique than as you could actually stay in a site with large Redwoods all around. It was well maintained back then and lots of stuff for kids to do. It seems very run down now and all the large trees in the back, that was what made it so great, have been cut down. Stuff is broken down. The 2nd restroom - no hot water. Store hours only 11 to 4. Issues

Cabins are clean, set in among the big trees laundry room and Bathrooms need some TLC.

We stayed for just one night on our way home from the Oregon coast. We love the Redwoods and have intentions to return. The campground was clean and nice.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Office closes for two hours for lunch. Only one washer and one dryer were in working order. The store really didn’t have very much to offer. We were guessing that this is a newly purchased KOA and that they need a huge influx of cash to bring things up to working order and have more staff.

Great campground aesthetically. However very disappointing upkeep. We were told the site was in transition having been sold to a private entity. Dirty bathrooms, non working showers, only 1 of 4 washing machines and 1 dryer in order but the dryer didn’t really dry, and very little stock in the store. Yet still charged full price. Would not recommend until new owners have refurbished as told.

Spaces very small and cramped, much too close to neighbors, kids riding e-bikes at high speeds thru out campground every evening no supervision. Laundry facility down to 1 washer and dryer for undetermined amount of time for full campground. Originally planned on 14 day stay, left after 10 days, would not recommend or return.

Nice big trees right by the cabins, bathroom seamed to be run down and washer and dryer only 1 worked out of the 4

Spot was not pleasantly looking

While the sites in the Redwoods was beautiful, the facility was needing attention. The reception office was barren of anything, the staff seemed beat down, only 1 washer of 4 was working, same with dryers. We heard that the park was sold and in between owners, however guests shouldn’t have to bear the burden of neglect at full price to stay.

Whitney was absolutely amazing! She was so helpful, considerate and friendly. We will absolutely stay there again and recommend you to our friends!! Wonderful people and very helpful!!

Beautiful site.

Setting is beautiful! Trash overflowing dumpsters, one night there were people with headlamps digging through it for cans. Women only had 2 showers for the entire KOA. Laundry room had an OUT OF ORDER sign but was being used by employees when questioned they opened it to campers but did not seem happy about it. Not a Holiday KOA not even good enough to be a Journey, Needs Lots of improvements.

It is unfortunate that this campground holds the KOA brand. No laundry and our other party was not next to us as requested six months prior. Very disappointing.

Loved staying at the Koa in Crescent City. Space was in an ideal location. It was easy access with power, water. Bathroom and showers were conveniently located, mostly clean. Easy check in, safe and of course always great campers. Bonus was the beautiful outdoors with so many trees, lovely cabins dispersed around us, well kept walking paths and fire pits that we could use.

Great place, comfort and great ambience. The rec room has piano in it, awesome. The staff were great!

Great campground like they used to be, before they started turning into a big parking lot. Individual wooded sites. Good wifi and clean common areas. Very quiet place camp and relax or visit the local cypress trees.

The tent and RV sites offer enough privacy, but they are close together. Although the bathrooms are on a cleaning schedule, they get messy quickly because there are only 2-3 shower stalls and toilet stalls, with 2 bathroom locations in the entire camp. Overall, good experience and outstanding location near the Redwoods.
