Great setting, well planned layout. Plenty of shrubbery to make it very pleasant. Best campground bathroom/showers ever!

Only reason for 4 vs 5 is lack of shade trees, but we were in the high desert...so maybe that is not fair! Campground was exceptionally clean. The staff was great, friendly, helpful and a pleasure to work with. It would have been nice to have the snack bar having a note of seasonal, etc.

Just an overnight. Camp sites would be nicer if they were desert landscaped instead of dead grass that you can't park on. distance from town is a bit far for what little this KOA offers to stay here

We stayed for 6 nights right after Labor Day and the we had the place almost to ourselves! We have been here before and had ZERO problems. A tad more shade would have been nice as it was over 100 EVERY DAY!! Had we gone the next week, it would have been more seasonable, our bad. A lot of people complain about the distance to the Carlsbad Caverns, but it's nice NOT being in town!

Quick 2 day stay. Not enough dumpsters, and the address is misleading the campground is 30 miles from the middle of Carlsbad. Overall a decent stay.

I would have more trash dumpsters around the camp ground! Stayed in September and a lot of flies around. Otherwise a very nice campground to stay at.

We had a great time there until my dog got attack by another campers dog. This person didn't have the dog on a leash. I went to the office and put in the complain not sure if anything was done. The dog park was a bonus but people didn't pick up after their dog so there were a lot of poop in the park. Most of the amenities were great to have. We will probably be back next year.

Worst KOA experience I have ever had and I have been staying in KOAs for nearly 50 years. The pool area was filthy with caked mud under the pool chairs and dead bugs floating in the pool. On a positive note, the cabins were clean and well maintained. Just a poor overall experience.

Very nice and clean with staff so welcoming on the phone esp Shaun.

Beautiful campground.

This is our third stay at this location. The sites are level and easily accessible. Too bad the koi pond was out of commission!

Staff was friendly enough but grounds upkeep I would rate a 4. The water was bad and curdled our coffee even with our filter. The campground location is not convenient to visiting sites ie: Carlsbad Caverns (too far away). If you just pull in to sleep it's ok.

There was no code for bathrooms It was 114 degrees an we were out in a location with no shade Over all noce

Large quiet park with friendly staff. The bathrooms could use a good thorough cleaning. The park is not very close to Carlsbad. It is 30 minute drive to town and a 50 minute drive to Carlsbad Caverns National Park. I recommend stopping by the Living Desert Zoo State Park while you are in the area.

I've been there before, staff is always friendly. camp sites are well maintained. Great for big rigs. Everything is maintained and clean. My only wish would be the pool closer to 92 degrees, which is the temperature for a therapy pool

One of the best KOAs we have ever stayed at. Highly recommend. T

Excellent facilities and amenities . All the staff and managers were great and very helpful

First the lady who took my reservation was extremely courteous and helpful. This was our first time with our new camper and she gave us good advice and found the perfect site for us. The camp itself was clean and attractive. After reading many reviews by campers who say they only stay at KOA campgrounds, I understand why. We also appreciated the email we got with all the advice and tips.

While the KOa is a pretty quiet campground, it is a little long in the tooth and shows it. We stayed three nights, and ther eis really not a lot to do there. Carlsbad Caverns in one day; the UFO museum in Roswell the next. Campground is remote. 15 miles north of Carlsbad (nothing to do there at all), and 60 from Roswell. BBQ did not work so used my own. Smells like a refinery int he area at night.

Excellent campground with clean amenities. The rec room is great for the kids, everyone was friendly and respectful. The campsite was clean and offered shade during the afternoon.

We really enjoyed it all but the music on Sunday evening.

I wanted the gazebo site but when I booked none we’re available but there were several open sites while I was there. I was also charged an extra amount for two of us there were 4 adults and I indicated that when I made the reservation which I felt was not ethical

Everything was perfect accept for the pool it was very cold water didn't seem like the pool thermostat was turned on

Grounds and employees were very nice. We enjoyed ourselves with some local music on the patio on Saturday night, which was just what we needed!! We will definitely stay again!

Most of the KOA is very nice! I know they did not clean the bathrooms daily because someone had had a big explosion in a toilet and it was still there the next day. TMI but still!

We stayed for 3 nights in Lobo cabin, The door squeaked very loudly, the AC and overhead fan were noisy as well. The large window did not open. There was no hot water in the main bathroom, the closest to our cabin. The swimming pool was closed part of the time. Overall the campground needs maintenance. The personnel working there were nice.

Nice facilities but 3 day stay only 3 of the 11 showers were functioning.

Loved the location. Easy to get to the Cavern and Sitting Bull Falls. Loved the pool! Laundry was adequate. We had a shade tree. Bathrooms were nice. Had a big storm roll through and did not lose power.

Sewer smell was awful! Mouse poop under gazebo, bathroom, no key entry lock, no hot water, toilets poor condition.

We really love it. But our cabin poni was full of spider webs, and also some little spiders. But over all, very nice.

We were there after the busy season. We enjoyed large space between campers. Campsite was not prepped before our arrival. Lots of bird poop on and under table. Dog feces in the grass around our RV. We made reservations ahead of time. I expected more from KOA and a Premium site.

The staff was VERY friendly!! That's what I have experienced at all the KOAs. However, the Tent village sites were too small... our tent barely fit. There were other tent sites but I'm not sure if they had electricity, which we needed. No hot water in main building. Diner was closed (seasonal). Just wasn't up to the quality we ate used to at KOA.

The absolutely only downside was the smell each morning that I asked abt and it has to do with the lake that is close by. Everything else was fantastic.

Site was in row D, very poor WIFI even though we were only 4 rows from main building. We asked the large female (with multiple tattoos) in the office if we could pair our WIFI extender to their base, she immediately said no. I asked to speak to the Manager, she said Manager was not there. Another employee found the manager in the office. This female employee needs customer service intervention.

Was wonderful experience. Will be doing it again

The name Carlsbad KOA insinuates that it is in the town of Carlsbad, but it’s 15 miles out. And it’s even farther away from Carlsbad’s main attraction, Carlsbad Caverns. Also, not sure why we were wedged in between two other occupied campsites when there was plenty of other unoccupied sites to allow us more privacy. We didn’t see any brochures in the office about surrounding attractions

Facility has everything an RV needs. It was quiet with kids back in school.
Aug 15, 2023
The men’s bathroom needs serious attention to the encrusted lime deposits on all the plumbing fixtures that apparently has been ignored for quite a long time. The four faucet sink only had one working faucet. This makes me think that the owner operators don’t care.

We were disappointed in our stay. There was no hot water for the showers. The office closed at 5 and we could not get quarters for the laundry. Our site did not have bay propane left in the tank. The pool was infested with ants and there was no one available to assist us.

Nice and clean, nice staff.

Everyone was very kind interacting with us and the property itself was decent. Unfortunately that’s the only nice thing I have to say. The water was cut off very frequently for repairs and issues they were having, 1-16 hours at a time. Water wasn’t potable. The pool was not available for 1.5 months of our stay. We had trouble attempting to pay our bills, saying come back later. Just super chao

We stayed here with our 5th wheel while visiting the Caverns and such. Anyway, the KOA here is “very nice for the area” and I mean that sincerely. It's not a $125/night luxury RV resort, but for the price and location, it's a very nice spot to stay. The spots are almost exclusively pull-thru which is convenient. Every spot has a little grassy area with a tree to the West (blocking some of the sun) and the pads are very level. Power is solid, water is good and drinkable and even sort of far away from the office, the Wi-Fi signal was pretty strong and we could stream without a lot of buffering. There's a road down to the lake that doubles as the “dog walk” - it's a great way to get them out for some exercise before your adventures. Everything is very clean - we didn't use the office-based facilities (pool, showers, etc) but they looked fine. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The downsides are you're staying ~15mi north of Carlsbad and it's another 1/2hr to the Caverns (but the upside is that it's quiet). They have a cockleburr problem that can make it tough on a dog's (or human's) paws…. Overall I would definitely stay here again over the other options in town and closer to the National Park.

We had an awesome time. The only complaint I have, people with dogs didn't pick up after their dogs in the dog park, plus a dog was roaming sind with no leash, and it attacked our dog that was tied down.
