Nice clean park, sites are very spacious. Friendly staff. Distance from city was farther than I anticipated.

It wasn’t our best KOA stay. Pool was closed. Wi-Fi was none existent. No water available at K9 park. The plus's were the location to Carlsbad Caverns NP and Sitting Bull NRA (30-45 minutes) and Brantley State Park right next door. The campsites were well situated & spacious. Rec room and kitchen were a bonus. Staff was ok.

Staff was very, very, very friendly which made us feel extremely welcome. Unlike most KOAs, there was no highway noise nor any trains near by. We will be back again !

I have seen some negative reviews for this place but we absolutely loved it. The staff is top notch and very helpful and friendly. Anything we needed they were right there to help. The sites are long and spaced enough apart that you aren’t on top of each other. They just replaced almost all of their washers and are currently working to remedy their internet and water issues. We loved it.

Our travels came free m Texas and arrived an hour early due to time change. Check in was 2pm and we got there at 1pm. The campground was 80% empty and they would not let us go to our site unless we paid an additional $10. We were already staying 7 nights! We had to sit in the parking lot for an hour before we could go to our stop. We are KOA members!

It's a nice quiet campground with clean facilities. The Wifi signal strength is unusable.

I easily booked a spot as we were coming into town, very clean, quiet and friendly folks.

Unwelcoming check in clerk. She was like an AI robot.

Nice KOA park, spacious with plenty if sites. Not the easiest to access, could use a couple signs 1/4 mile out on the highway on each side. Pool was closed, possibly due to cold weather, but there was water still in the pool and it was green. Office hours could have been longer as most people are out exploring during the day and would like to do what they need at the office after that.

Didn’t realize (my fault) that you did not have paved roads, that combined with the windstorm made it impossible to enjoy our stay. The dust destroyed my toys and negated the $500 wash and wax done the week before I willl be more careful in choosing in future. Staff were great

Great place to park our rv and great location to visit area attractions.

Just stayed overnight but it was great, as KOA's are. Clean bathroom, clean park, friendly people. What's not to like?

Met our needs, although bathrooms need updating, and the dog park should be further away from the pull in van sites.

Pretty basic KOA… all gravel sites… kitchen staff was very helpful… they can deliver dinners to your site!

It was very peaceful. We had a space with a patio and grill, it the the stay extra special.

Spacious, and moderate loud. However restrooms need some refurbishment (toilet flushing, automatic tap). Generally spoken a B/C-category campside.

Awesome campground. Staff and facilities were great. Had a pizza from the restaurant, it was great. I will definitely come back.

The area was messy several bottle caps on the ground. There was gravel all over the patio stones and they were terribly uneven.

Staff was awsome, clean, quiet and Rachel makes great food!

Everyone was so nice. They were thoughtful and very helpful.

This KOA campground offers plenty of space, featuring mostly pull-through, level gravel sites. The camp store is well stocked with nearly everything you might need during your stay. However, the Wi-Fi connection can be unreliable, so it's wise to have access to your own satellite or 5G service. The staff members are welcoming and helpful.

Clean, friendly staff, super easy check in

weak wifi signal too slow to actually use. had to use our phones the whole time. no cable TV as advertised on the website. poorly stocked store.

Thank you again for a nice stay and visit. We had a water connection issue the 1st morning but they were on it to fix it so we didn't have to move sites. Dinner was good that evening, delivered right to our camper. As well, we loved the cute touches of the porch games and swing, pond and garden, and the K9 parks for our dogs.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the park and facilities were clean. It’s fairly quiet. Gravel spaces. There is a dirt load leading down to the lake . It looks like the back row of the park is all residents. Only 3 of the 6 or 7 washing machines worked. Close to Artesia. Good for a night or two.

Clean, well managed, grounds were pristine. Definitely will stay again if back in the area.
Jan 17, 2026
Nice clean facilities and overall good campground. It’s just too far out and away especially if the main reason for visiting is going to the caverns.
Jan 15, 2026
It was a good stay. There was a few issues. We weren’t able to get propane and the laundry room needed work. Only 2 out of 8 washers worked.

Very disappointed about staying here, we were told not to drink water supplied to campsite, I called at least 5 times complaining that we had no water pressure, went to use community washers and dryers and 6 of the washers are out of service, spoke to a young lady at front desk about 530 pm and she was more concerned with listening to her headphones Not worth staying here for what they charge

Clean bathroom and shower. Liked the little shelter w/ fireplace. Used bbq. No wifi!

We had a great time here. The site was spacious, clean and well kept. The staff were very polite and cheerful. We order from the restaurant and the food was good. They also brought the food right to our site. We were able to relax in this peaceful, quiet campground after long days of exploring the area.

Upon check in we were told don’t drink the water, don’t make coffee with it, don’t give it to your dog. What? This would have been nice to know. We were also told the cable tv might not work so I commented that would be fine because we can stream. That is when she told me we might not be able to get internet. The men’s bathroom could use shelves in the shower and near sinks.

I was disappointed when I found out where the location was in relation to the area. This KOA is 20 miles from any services or goods of any kind. It is centrally located to all points of interest but that puts it in the middle of no where. The grounds are spacious and has most amenities a camper might need. The lots and roadways are all in gravel and are fairly level. They claim #1 in New Mexico!

We’ve stayed here 3 times in last five years. Clean bathrooms hot water, food available. Great place for families with nice playground and ample room to walk around. Off road so little road noise. Friendly staff.
Jan 05, 2026
This is a good overnight stop with large sites and very wide roads. It is a desert location so there is nothing lush about it, basically all stone and dirt. Friendly staff. Delicious dinners on the weekends. Smoked turkey and a combo dinner with homemade potato salad were fresh, filling and tasted amazing.

The staff was all very nice and deluxe cabin was fine until I found the pots and pans cabinet under the stove was full of rat poop!

First, the positives: to Kat in the office, thank you for the warm welcome and hospitality displayed during check in. You made the stay very nice. We appreciate you! The overall campground is pretty clean and has nice large open spots for an RV stay. The dog park was enclosed with a fence and the playground was fun for the kids. Overall a nice, quiet campground. Additionally, when I called to let them know we were coming in early we were allowed to park in the overflow area until our site opened up. On the cons, the drinking was disgusting. So, plan accordingly if you come out. The location is much further than expected from the Caverns(although I should have looked at this closer in my planning) about an hour away. The pool was not open and did not plan to open until after Memorial Day although it was already super hot out.

Quiet, it is quiet at night and I like it. Standard rock pull through with 50amp, water & sewer. Shade tree at my site. Cable is available as is WiFi at no charge. Pool, kitchen and club house. I was greeted kindly with a smile and a good attitude. If we are back this way I'd definitely stay again.
