The smell from the sewage settling pond was awful every day and no previous indication this might be an issue. The wifi was non-existent. The cable did not work and no previous indication it might be an issue. Staff not particularly friendly. Laundry facilities were nice, but will not stay here/recommend it with that open sewage area so close. #1 rated advertised is misleading.

The bathrooms were okay at best (more cleaning is needed and general updates would be a good move) and the potable water had a milky white color and a texture to it at the camp sites that made me pause. I would have hoped that the bathrooms would be serviced more frequently and filters would be applied to all potable water sources or have a central filtration system as it was concerning.

Friendly staff greeted us with a baked chocolate chip cookie. They have much longer office hours compared to other KOAs that we have stayed and offer a decent menu of smoked BBQ food and yummy sides that they will deliver to your campsite.

Check-in was messy, first they could not find our reservation. After a while they found it, we were checked in before arrival. Washing machines full with stuff from KOA, took hours before they emptied it. Campground nice abd clean.

Nice park. Lots are spacious. Utilities worked fine. Cable in every site would be better. Odor from the cess pit/pool is terrible and is certainly a deterrent from sitting or cooking outdoors.

This is a great campground! The lots were spacious and even had some grass. We were traveling through west Texas, New Mexico and Arizona and all we found were gravel lots. Gravel lots are fine but when you have a dog, grass and a tree is nice. It has a dog park and tons of amenities. Even has a restaurant. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Great stop between White sands NP and Carlsbad Caverns.

The office attendant was friendly and helpful. We booked a cabin with beds in it, and we were definitely left wishing we had just booked a motel in town with an attached bathroom and better beds for a similar or cheaper price. The double bed had a huge dip in the middle and I couldn’t find a comfortable position for my back. The kids’ bunks were worse than jail cell mattresses. Never again, lo

We tent camped at Carlsbad KOA, our reservation was for a tent site but they booked us a pop up camping site. Ended up working out great because there was covered sitting area and a fence that provided more privacy than at the tent site. Bathrooms were clean enough and the play room for the kids provided a much needed break from the 40mph winds.

I thought everything was great- bathrooms and showers exceptional , we got food one night and it was good. We did laundry- nice machines and very clean building. The only downfall was the dish sink- GROSS! I have seen fish cleaning stations better than this. It definitely did not speak to the high standards displayed everywhere else on this property.

Waaaaay outside of Carlsbad. One hour to get to the caverns. Plan on traveling 15+ miles for services. Nice level sites. Plenty of space. Bonus is kitchen is open on the weekends. Did not use other facilities but laundry room looked amazing.

Great Place to explore the area. Everything was very clean, the laundry room fitted with a lot of new washers & dryers. We stayed in a spot with a covered patio and loved it!

We had a welcoming check-in. Sites are well-appointed w/various levels of amenities, from fire pits and picnic tables to Adirondack chairs to gazebos. There is a huge lounge room w/games, toys, books, and TV corner. Excellent bathrooms w/individual showers, handheld-capable shower heads, and plenty of private drying/dressing area space. Very comfortable campground.

No cable TV available at my site. Employee confirmed it. Said they know that site doesn’t work. Very run down site with weeds growing through the bricks. Paid full price for a substandard site that didn’t supply the amenities I paid for, or that they advertised. I don’t recommend this KOA.

Great RV park. Large RV sites. Friendly and helpful staff. Park was clean and well kept. Showers were clean and lots of hot water. Would recommend this KOA if your going to stay in the Carlsbad, Artesia area.

During check in, girls was rude because I arrived before check in time. Made it seem like I was out of line for showing up early. How did this place get a Holiday KOA rating? It's not well maintained at all. All of the grass is full of stickers and goad heads. The req room is nice and well done. I paid extra for a sight with a swing, My site did not have one so I had to ask for one next day.

The place was rated number 1 in Carlsbad and it was by far that. There were shady people running it. They smoked in places that campers go into such as laundry room. The pond was nasty the pool was green and nasty.it was so windy and white dust everywhere you couldn’t keep your RV clean. It was so far away from everything you wanted to do. The website was VERY MISLEADING. I DONT recommend. That

The campground is clean. We loved the buddy patio. The goatsheads stickers are terrible throughout the camp so don’t let your dog walk into the grass. There is random dog feces in the grass around the camp and in the dog park. Even though there is a speed limit many people speed through quite fast creating a lot of dust and we saw no uniformed employees patrolling to keep this curtailed.

This location is easy to access. Sites are spacious and level. Adequate check-in ease. My one suggestion to this KOA would be to monitor and enforce speed in park. The amount of dust kicked up by speeding vehicles and golf carts was really unacceptable. Otherwise it’s an acceptable RV park.

It wasn’t our best KOA stay. Pool was closed. Wi-Fi was none existent. No water available at K9 park. The plus's were the location to Carlsbad Caverns NP and Sitting Bull NRA (30-45 minutes) and Brantley State Park right next door. The campsites were well situated & spacious. Rec room and kitchen were a bonus. Staff was ok.

First, the positives: to Kat in the office, thank you for the warm welcome and hospitality displayed during check in. You made the stay very nice. We appreciate you! The overall campground is pretty clean and has nice large open spots for an RV stay. The dog park was enclosed with a fence and the playground was fun for the kids. Overall a nice, quiet campground. Additionally, when I called to let them know we were coming in early we were allowed to park in the overflow area until our site opened up. On the cons, the drinking was disgusting. So, plan accordingly if you come out. The location is much further than expected from the Caverns(although I should have looked at this closer in my planning) about an hour away. The pool was not open and did not plan to open until after Memorial Day although it was already super hot out.

Quiet, it is quiet at night and I like it. Standard rock pull through with 50amp, water & sewer. Shade tree at my site. Cable is available as is WiFi at no charge. Pool, kitchen and club house. I was greeted kindly with a smile and a good attitude. If we are back this way I'd definitely stay again.
