Campground Reviews

We used the showers/bathroom in the middle of the campground. They were filthy and there was no hot water in one shower. In the main building women’s bathroom: of 4 showers were out of order.

Great Rec-area. Bathrooms spacious and clear. Pretty good food delivered. Pool was open. Friendly staff. Very nice stay.

Restrooms needed much work. Sinks have no countertops. Sinks have no hot water, only brief spurts of cold water. I understand the need for water conservation in the desert but it makes it impossible to shave without taking a shower. Towel dispenser did not work properly. The biggest problem is that there are no alternatives for tent campers.

This has been our favorite KOA so far. Good bathrooms/showers. Lots of stuff for the kiddos to do. Very friendly staff. We all wished we were staying longer than a couple of nights.

Office staff was very considerate and informative. Spacious sites. The facilities need some maintenance. New pool cover Is needed. Two of the showers out of service. Kai needs some work.

The staff was helpful & courteous. The goatheads or spurs as some call it need to be dealt with as they popped our bike tires & the dog continously limped from being stuck.

We were ahead of schedule and you charged us to check in 45 min early even though the site was ready for us. I went to have a shower and there was a large pile of vomit on the floor with a “wet floor” sign over it. Only one of the three faucets worked in men’s bathroom and several of the women’s showers didn’t work. Not impressed.

The front desk was great and check-in went smoothly. Nice to have coffee in the office in the morning. My only concern was that the showers seemed a bit outdated.

The camp ground is awesome if your not in a tent. I get it tenting isn't for everyone but those that tent this isn't a good spot. There was a very bright light on that lit up our tent all night long. There was also a sewer smell not continuous but here and there that made for unpleasant moments. I will say that the campground is nice and clean which is why we would stay again just not in a tent

We got a premium buddy site and when we arrived our site was very dirty. We even had to clean bird poop from under the dirty table and chairs! After we cleaned that up we then cleaned the dirty BBQ. I must say the BBQ was clean inside however. My wife and I spent about 1 hour cleaning up things. Bet the next people will really appreciate how clean we left things. Sorry I had to leave a bad review.

Nice sized sites with adequate space for just about any sized rig. Friendly, helpful staff.

Large sites, pretty far out of town. The bathroom and laundry room have several “out of order” signs that must have been there for a while, based upon past reviews. There are several yard games, but beware of stickers (rough for our dogs at our site).

Overall a great camp. The bathrooms were a bit run down and could use some renovation. One of the bathrooms was really humid- not just after a shower but each time I visited. A real plus to the camp was the staff who greeted us. Very friendly, informative, bright and patient. I didn't have any problems during our stay but they made me feel like I could ask for their help.

Our trip to Carlsbad included visits to Roswell, Sitting Bull Waterfall, the Living Desert and, of course, Carlsbad Caverns. The KOA was the perfect location to enjoy all these sites. The personnel at the KOA was very welcoming & helpful during our stay. Our only issue was the spotty Wi-Fi, but considering we spent most of the day outdoors, it really wasn't a major concern. Will likely come again.

The bathrooms that worked were filthy. Kamp K9 had no poop bags, so there were dog feces all over. While I realize dog owners should be more responsible, you hold some of the responsibility for keeping your facilities clean also.

WiFi was non-existent at campsite. There needs to be a statement about early check in charge!!!

The RV Park itself was nice, but not as advertised. Pool open but Restaurant is closed. Had cable, slow Wi-Fi and low water pressure. Employee advised us not to drink the water. Women’s restroom had 2 out of 4 showers out of order. Loose toilet seats, very old faucets, countertops and flooring. Lights outside women's restroom were broken, making it kind of hazardous and hard to see after dark.

Not there very long but loved our stay. The grounds were nice and the rv spots were very roomy. Lots to do in the area. We were there to see Carlsbad Caverns. The girls in the office were very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely recommend and hope to stay there again.

Excellent KOA spacious lots, great dog parks-2 separate fenced areas. Nice play area for kids and clean pool. 45 minutes from Carlsbad Caverns.

Clean and easily accessible facility. Has everything you need. Definitely go for the Deluxe patio site with shade structure.

The non-electric site was big enough for a 10-man & 3-man tent + pop-up canopy. The website states "quiet setting; no planes or trains; sleep under the stars". What they didn't mention is it's just off a highway, the tent sites are right next to the entrance, and there's light pollution from street lamps and buildings. It didn't ruin our stay, just something to keep in mind.

Everything was great besides the campsite having a ton of ants everywhere.

Berry nice facility. Lots of things to do, playground, cheese, checkers, lots of activities for kids. Very nice bathhouse.

We made our reservations before reading reviews and we were very nervous. We found very little to complain about! Our covered patio spot was absolutely beautiful! We made dinner on the grill, enjoyed the swing and loved the sunrise. The campground was clean & well kept. Our only concerns were the stickburrs that plagued our dogs and 1/3 working showers. The staff were wonderful!

Excellent camping there. Two large dog areas, wide open spaces, clean, very friendly staff! Would highly recommend this KOA.

Facilities were fine. AC wasn't very cooling because it was in a corner and couldn't circulate. Customer service at the check in was lacking in friendliness. Acted like we were bothering her

We spent the last 4 days of September there in a small cabin, 2 adults, 2 kids and a dog. The cabin was nice, comfy beds. We used both grills that were available. The pool was open and although it was chilly, the kids loved it every day. The giant chess board was a family favorite too. Everyone was so nice!

Love the pool and play areas! The bathrooms need repairs. The women's showers are broken and the toilet seats aren't attached.

Nice size sites, but it would have been a lot better if the grass had been mowed or at least weed wacked around the hookups, picnic table and fire pit, as the grass was full of hitchhikers that got on my legs and feet. Include the location between MM 51-52 in your reservation confirmation, it would be very helpful as your roadside sign is very hard to see and easy to pass by.

Great spot for big RV. Safe and quiet. They also serve reasonable food on site.

When we pulled in there was a sign stating "Voted #1 KOA in New Mexico", so we were expecting to be WOW'd...well...not so much. Don't get me wrong, the staff was great, navigating the park was easy (43' 5th wheel), but it just felt like we were plopped down in the middle of a dust bowl. I understand...we really were in the middle of a dust bowl (NM), but we didn't see the WOW of a #1 rated park. It just felt...tired?? We felt safe, and maybe it was our ignorance as east coasters where everything is green, but just not our idea of an enjoyable location...no fault of the park...please understand that.

We are giving it 5 stars, because as RVers everything we needed was there. Th RVs are well spaced from each other, clean, full hook up, trash service, propane to buy and we could not hear the traffic from the highway inside our 5th wheel. The distance was a bite long but no different than other places we have stayed at.
