The staff were nice BUT the pool was down and the rest of the campgrounds amenities were not usable for most of the stay as it was not maintained. We rented 5 cabins, all of them had grass not mowed and all had issues, from not locking doors to getting locked inside. TV not working and curtains too short and more. No ice for most days in the store which lead to a 30 minutes drive to town. Unhappy

We enjoyed the stay and they accommodated us by putting us near the dog park. The only negative was WiFi is weak and it way outside of town.

This KOA is beautiful and peaceful. On the outskirts of Carlsbad, beautiful green grass, trees, stuff for kids to do. Very spacious.

Very quiet and pleasant park with spacious, well-maintained sites, greenery and small trees that don't get in the way of larger rigs, cute store, and food available on site. We were only there for one night but after a long travel day, were looking forward to enjoying the pool. Sadly, it was closed for repair. We were given no advance notice, which would have been nice. Overall, very nice park.

Staff was friendly and helpful, facilities were clean and well kept up, sites were nice and level. The one downside was that the pool was closed, and we didn’t know until we had arrived.

Came back 3 years later and this place is run down. They don't have bags in pet pen so people don’t pick up. They should notify people the don’t have an operable pool prior to arrival.They charge three dollar a night per kids even though everything outdated.Paid for 3 nights and stayed 2 nights ,no refund.Very disappointed with the facility and management

7 - this is a pretty nice campground. I would give it an 8 if the pool was working. A pool is a must when staying in the desert. Unfortunately, there was not noone was working on it while we were there. There are plenty of things to do, volleyball, basketball, giant chess and checkers, a game room and more. All spots have room and a few have a shade tree.

There is something wrong with the water. It looks like milk and has low pressure. The pool wasn’t open and has been ‘under maintenance’ for quite some time. Very limited activities. It is rundown and unkempt. It is definitely not up to KOA standards, if those even exist anymore……

Well kept and clean KOA surrounded by Pecan trees and the lake. The kids loved the playground and making new friends on the site. We were in a bind and asked KOA manager for help and she solved our problem right away, thanks Kat and Rachel!

Staff was not friendly. We arrived early due to beating the weather on our trip up; the site had plenty of vacancies, but we were not allowed to check in early; therefore, we had to unhook our camper and leave it in the parking lot until check-in time (very inconvenient), WiFi was horrible, pool was not open, park site were large and fairly clean, but just not 100%.

Easy in and out of RV site, friendly staff, spacious sites, laundry and entertainment center. The only disappointment was our site had a glider instead of a swing as stated in the site description, which we paid extra for.

We chose to stay two nights specifically for the pool but the pool was closed and we were not told beforehand. The mosquitoes were so bad we were unable to stay even one night and packed up and left in the middle of the first night.

Cabin stay overnight. This KOA is fine, been to much better though this works in a pinch. Check in woman was friendly and informative, check out young gal was a bit too busy on her phone to see I was there :(

The pool had been broken for 2 months they said. That is why we booked there was to swim. Dog park full of weeds . Volleyball court was hard solid full of weeds. Bathrooms horrible. We should have been told about the pool so we would have an option to change. I have pictures.

The main reason for our stay was do to a pool for our kids to enjoy while in the heat. This unfortunately was not in our cards as the pool was closed. If an email was sent saying it was closed we would have looked somewhere else. The sites were clean and level but crowded.

Great campground. Nice amenities. Tons of sports equipment and activities outside like Gaga ball, volleyball, chess and checkers. Kept kids entertained. It is about 45 min from Carlsbad Cave NP but very nice scenic drive. Would definitely stay again.

The site we had was very nice. We knew about the pool not being open from previous reviews so we had n problem with that. The weather did. prevent us from the lake trip but otherwise we had a good time. I have been to other KOA's where they have had entertainment at the campground, there were no such events here so you have to go into town for that.

We had a wonderful stay at the KOA. It was clean and customer service was great! The beds were comfortable. We loved the location. We had a late check in and the instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Customer service was great as well! It was affordable for my family. I would definitely stay here again!

The campground is great. My only negative is that when KOA knows the pool is broken that they notify those that are reserving or they put it on the website. When we checked in we were told the pool was broken and they had been waiting a week for repairs. We usually choose our camping locations based on the amenities listed on the KOA site so that was disappointing.

Clean, quiet, and a perfect stop on our road trip. 45 minutes away from the caverns. We did not use the showers/restrooms. Pool does not work but we didn’t need it.

Very nice clean, it was quiet out of town but still not to far to see all the sites near by. The pool wasn’t open, but they deliver lunch or dinner right to your site and you just put your trash in front of your site and they pick it up

Maintenance was an issue during our stay. There is only one restroom area for the entire campground (not well planned) and in the Men’s area only two toilets and one of them was not working. In the middle of June and the swimming pool was closed. Information like this should have been relayed to guests, in advance, and a discount given for the inconvenience.

The water tasted horrible, and the pressure was incredibly unreliable. There were ants everywhere, and the pool has been out of service for months. The laundry was subpar, and so were the bath houses. This is not what I've come to expect from KOA. Maybe from other RV lots, But I've come to be able to trust the KOA name, and know that it will be a good place to stay. This fell short of that

Not a bad place to stay at all. Unfortunately, the pool was closed which was a huge disappointment for my kids and there were some major water line issues during the stay as well. Friendly staff, clean and very level sites however! Bath houses were also clean and maintained well.

Very disappointed the pool was closed, the desert dust sandblasted my travel trailer, ended up leaving early and even asked about a refund. I was laughed at and told to honk and wave on our way out �

The pool was not working and it was 107degrees. It was very disappointing. The host basically said go swim in the lake. The women's shower were disgusting. Need cleaning. It does have a good spot for dogs and it is a convenient stop in route to Colorado

First, the positives: to Kat in the office, thank you for the warm welcome and hospitality displayed during check in. You made the stay very nice. We appreciate you! The overall campground is pretty clean and has nice large open spots for an RV stay. The dog park was enclosed with a fence and the playground was fun for the kids. Overall a nice, quiet campground. Additionally, when I called to let them know we were coming in early we were allowed to park in the overflow area until our site opened up. On the cons, the drinking was disgusting. So, plan accordingly if you come out. The location is much further than expected from the Caverns(although I should have looked at this closer in my planning) about an hour away. The pool was not open and did not plan to open until after Memorial Day although it was already super hot out.

Quiet, it is quiet at night and I like it. Standard rock pull through with 50amp, water & sewer. Shade tree at my site. Cable is available as is WiFi at no charge. Pool, kitchen and club house. I was greeted kindly with a smile and a good attitude. If we are back this way I'd definitely stay again.
