The staff at the campground was extremely friendly and helpful. The campground itself was clean and neat. They even have a little café there with limited menu which came in handy as we arrived pretty late and they actually delivered the food to our camper. The reason for the three stars is their water. It is horrible. It stained our toilet and smells like sewerage no warning of this is posted

The swimming pool was out of service and had been out of service for quite some time. I would not have booked the reservation had I known that in advance. When vital summer equipment is not working, this must be advertised on your website. It was so late in the day, and my husband and I were exhausted from our travels, that we didn't want to call around to find another campground with a pool.

Kampsite-Great! Loved the pad and covered area. But the staff were very poor communicators and lacked good critical thinking/resolution skills. Incredibly poor communication.

The staff never answers the phone. They don’t respond to texts. When you send an email for a special request, they don’t respond. They’re rude in the Camp store. There’s a lack of communication. I’ll never stay here again. I’ll find somewhere else.

The campsite was clean and well laid out. There was a great entertainment space for children. The cabin was perfect for our needs and was well stocked. The reasoning for the 3 star is due to the pool being closed. There was no information on the website to indicate the pool closure. The main reason we chose to camp at the KOA was for the pool convenience.

Despite the good rating of this campground, our experience was quite the opposite. We've traveled cross country several times often staying in KOA's. Usually our experience is good, but not this time. Staff was not friendly or helpful. Temperatures exceeded 90 degrees and pool was closed. Bathrooms were dirty with no AC. Dog park was a disaster. Don't plan on coming back to this location.

The pool was, and has been closed for at least 2 months, yet they still advertise the pool as an amenity and price as if there is a pool. Not ok. Rec room was pretty good. This campground needs a lot of basic attention. The owners either don’t care or are not onsite enough to see this place is run down and not being cleaned. Would not stay here again.

Amazing sunrises & sunsets from the campsite. We stayed in Yucca cabin. Upon checking into the cabin, there were about 20 flies inside flying around. We spent time killing most of them. It appeared they were coming in somewhere, even with the door closed. When we swatted a fly on the bedspread a big puff of dust came up! We enjoyed the swing on the porch & campfires in the pit outside.

While the park and baths were very clean, I was disapointed that the pool wasn't open. I was unable to get the military discount on the first night because she couldn't redo the deposit. After watching the Flight of the bats, the park was very dark and we had to use a flashlight to find our spot. More lighting or reflective letters would be helpful in searching for the lots.

Bathroom was old and hot without working air conditioning or ventilation fan. It was feeling like being in the sauna while using the bathroom.

We enjoyed the campground BUT you probably should notify people that the pool was closed prior to check in. We made it work by driving into Carlsbad to the Waterpark but when traveling with kids, pools are very important. The park is very clean and has a nice playground for kids.

First I tried calling help line & no one work answer so called office & clerk was with a customer so she said to hold on. I held for 18 mins listening to her & customer talked ! So I walked over to office! She said she was with customer-I asked her about the cable - she said that’s how it was & suggested calling help line so she did & no answer -no help. Then shower was broken ! Over all bad vis

First I will say the campground area was clean. However the women’s bathroom was terrible. There was a very large hole in the ceiling and it looks like it’s been there a while. There is a second bathhouse but it had no air conditioning so it was impossible to stay in. The pool also was closed. Doesn’t look like it will be open anytime soon.

The worst KOA we’ve stayed at. Still claiming to be award winning is a joke. Toilets and washing machines out of order and the pool has also been out of use for a year based on other reviews?? Very rundown. No drinking water or anywhere to wash dishes. The area had litter all over the place. We checked in late, but no courtesy call to tell us what to do when we arrived.

Paid for a deluxe site. Patio needed a serious weeding. Cable was unwatchable, wifi was unusable, pool was closed. All were advertised as amenities when booked and just prior to arrival. Water pressure in showers was bad. Women’s shower had holes in ceiling.

Loved our stay at this KOA! The sites were flat, level, and super spacious — plenty of room to spread out. Being out in nature was the best part: clear night skies full of stars and a distant lightning storm made for an unforgettable experience. Peaceful, scenic, and beautifully maintained. We’ll definitely be back!

Overall it was a nice campground. Pool was closed and said it had been for 3 months but you won’t know that until you check in. Was told I could order from the kitchen between 11-7 but when we went to do so, they said there are time slots and they were all filled. That is not what I was told at check in otherwise I would have planned ahead. Too expensive for what you get.

We have stayed twice at this KOA. Our stays have always been nice and pleasant. The staff are friendly and helpful. One area that needs improvement is the kitchen. It is understaffed and cannot handle large orders or groups. They need to have more people on staff or standby to help handle the overflow so they do not have to close the kitchen early and turn people away who are in need of food.

Very disappointing stay. We were charged $10 for checking in at noon. Most KOAs have a check in time of noon. The pool was out of order and the person that checked us in was rude.

A pool was an amenity, the pool is broken. At check in we were given a menu, told that we had to order before 6:30 p.m. at 5:45 I call to order food they answer the phone at the same time somebody walks up to the front desk and I am asked to hold. I sit on the phone for 10 minutes listening to her chat. I walk over get in line & wait to be told the food service was closed for the day. Very unkept!

The park was nice and bathrooms pretty good. Laundry area good. Main negative was the pool was not working. And as we visited in the summer, that was a bummer. Would be nice to be told in advance the pool was out as the kids were disappointed. Nothing mentioned on website or upon booking.

The sites were clean and level but most basic amenities were out of order. Sinks didn’t work, showers didn’t work, toilets broken and not working. Pool was also unavailable in 100 degree heat.

Grouds were nice and well kept. But the swimming pools was closed due to mechanical issues. The restrooms and showers in the center of the campground air conditioning wasn't working. So it was miserably hot and humid inside unless you went first thing in the morning. Of the 3 restrooms in that building, one had a broken toilet seat and another had a broken/unusable shower head.

First, the positives: to Kat in the office, thank you for the warm welcome and hospitality displayed during check in. You made the stay very nice. We appreciate you! The overall campground is pretty clean and has nice large open spots for an RV stay. The dog park was enclosed with a fence and the playground was fun for the kids. Overall a nice, quiet campground. Additionally, when I called to let them know we were coming in early we were allowed to park in the overflow area until our site opened up. On the cons, the drinking was disgusting. So, plan accordingly if you come out. The location is much further than expected from the Caverns(although I should have looked at this closer in my planning) about an hour away. The pool was not open and did not plan to open until after Memorial Day although it was already super hot out.

Quiet, it is quiet at night and I like it. Standard rock pull through with 50amp, water & sewer. Shade tree at my site. Cable is available as is WiFi at no charge. Pool, kitchen and club house. I was greeted kindly with a smile and a good attitude. If we are back this way I'd definitely stay again.
