I've been staying there for a week of two every summer for the past few years. EVERYONE,(THE ENTIRE STAFF) always goes out of their way to be helpful and make sure your stay is pleasant and enjoyable. Campground is clean and well maintained. The staff at this KOA were very helpful and nice. The KOA has very few mature trees so not a lot of shade. The temperature when I checked in was 100 degrees. The staff very kindly found me a site with shade. The restaurant pizza was good and the morning smoothie I had was delicious. I truly think the only drawback is the lack of mature trees.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for staying with us. Unfortunately in the grasslands we have difficulty growing trees. We just purchased 300 trees from the conservation department to get more shade for our campers. We hope that this batch will survive the winter months of South Dakota.

The grounds were beautiful and well kept. His plans for the future and improvements if a pool, etc, only will enhance how nice it already is. The owners hospitality was unmatched to any other KOA we’ve stayed at. We got in after closing, the owner made an effort to come up, help us out, even opened the store so we could buy some necessities. Totally went out of his way to help out and be friendl

Camping on the Prarie couldn't be nicer with a stay at Belvidere East KOA. Hosts and their employees are awesome! Stopped to camp to wait out a storm on our way to Sturgis. We had no food and nothing to cook with - NOT a problem ! They have a restaurant on site, we had a delicious pizza delivered right to out tent in the pouring rain in a hot bag. Boy did we feel the love !

The campsite was clean and spacious. It was nice having an outlet so we could charge phones and tablets if needed. The staff was awesome and extremely knowledgeable. Would definitely stay at this koa again.

We just stopped for the night so didn't get to enjoy too many of the amenities. The campground was clean and the service was great. The tent sites were a good size and there was a lot of nice green grass.

Only issue is that you need bug spray. It's an awesome campground with very courteous employees. Very well kept and just a mile off the interstate.

Nice people running the place, clean, and their pizza was supper great.. They cooked the pizza while set up our camp and even delivered it after they were closed.

We arrived late, but instuctions left for us were perfect. Easily found our way to our spot. Great clean restrooms. Easy off and on I-90.

Quiet and convenient location with great price. Bathroom could use updating and miss the pizza kitchen being open until late. All in all comfortable and safe place to stay.

So many employees around for such a run down location. Bathroom doors and stall doors are crooked so you can easily get stuck or have issues opening. Funky smell in the women’s bathroom, shower curtain hooks are too small and difficult to close. You can find better for the same price anywhere

The staff was great! Very friendly. The grounds were very clean and well maintained. The only issue I have with this KOA and others that I've stayed at so far is that they all seem to be located close to the interstate highway or Railroad. Which for a RV camper probably doesn't matter but to a tent camper it is hard to sleep with all the noise.

This KOA is so nice and the people are very accommodating! We were traveling across the country with a truck and large trailer full of our household items. We needed a campground close to the interstate that had room for the trailer without charging us for an RV site (we were sleeping in a tent). They were more than happy to charge us the tent site price and give us room for our trailer. Thankful!

Loved it. Very clean. Bathrooms were great. The night sky was spectacular! The sunset amazing. The staff super friendly and helpful!! My only dislike was the traffic noice. I would stay again!!!

Everyone working there was so nice and went above and beyond! I was pleasantly surprised by the service, the facilities, cleanliness, and very reasonable cost. It was my 1st time at a KOA and in no way will it be my last! Truly enjoyed our stay! Thank You for your hospitality!!!

Absolutely amazing place, Wonderful wide open skies, plenty of area on a lake to walk around. Friendly staff, real close to interstate, but we did not hear the sound of the traffic - just the birds. Will be back.

It was only overnight but the gentleman was very nice and put me in a closer spot so I was by people instead of way out in the boonies by myself as I was traveling by myself very clean very friendly well kept definitely will stop there again

Great stay at the campground- perfect location, and the owners go above and beyond. We arrived after office hours, and assumed we’d have to search out our site in the dark, but he showed up as soon as we drove up, showed us to our site, even opened the camp store so we could get ice cream after a long day of driving. perfect place to stay to visit the Badlands! Stay here-you’ll be glad you did

Very surprised at the good service for a good price. We ordered food and they hand delivered to our site. Nice and clean restrooms and minutes to 1880 Old town.

We didn't know where we were staying this particular night and found the KOA online. It was so nice! Pretty campsites next to a pretty lake and since it wasn't that full it was quiet. The bathrooms and showers were nice and welcome since it was in the upper 90s when we got there. The gentlemen checking us in were very nice and made sure to point everything out to us so we didn't miss any amenities

Of the five or so KOA's along western South Dakota along I-90 this is your best choice especially if you are car/tent camping. Many of the campgrounds along I- 90 here are not much more than parking lots for RV's. We found this KOA superior in many ways. This WAS supposed to be our stop for the gateway to the Black Hills. Unfortunately, we ran out of daylight a 100 miles eastward. So we visited in the early morning before anyone was awake. It was mostly empty as we were in the very early part of the season but it was evident we had missed out on a great campground. We visited May 2023.

What a great overnight stay. The staff is exceptionally pleasant and helpful. They also serve dinner delivered to the RV...my wife is STILL raving about the spaghetti. 1880 Old Town in just down the road and well worth a visit.
