Fox Lake was Indiana's first and only resort to cater to African American families. It was a place for them to fish, swim, boat and ride horses. Today, Fox Lake Resort's community continues to flourish and has nearly 100 homes in the area. Visitors can enjoy an array of recreations like fishing, boating and swimming.
Since 2001, Fox Lake has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Second and third-generation lake cottage owners continue to uphold traditions dating back to the 1930s.
