Tamari Baked Fish


  • 1/2  c  tamari sauce
  • 1/2  c  water
  • 2  Tbsp  grated ginger
  • 1/2  c  minced scallions
  • 2  garlic cloves (crushed)
  • 2  tsp  oil
  • 2  tsp  cider vinegar
  • 2  tsp  sugars
  • 2  pound(s)  fish fillets


Combine all ingredients except fish and whisk together. Let stand for 15 minutes. Marinate fish for 2 to 3 hours. Then put on tinfoil and wrap up securely so no juices escape. This can be cooked over the open fire or on a barbeque for about 5 minutes. If fish is thick like salmon, you might have to extend cooking time to 10 minutes. To accompany this, I've cooked potatoes, carrots and onions in foil wrap as well. Add butter or margarine on top of potatoes and carrot mixture. Add spices like salt, pepper and garlic.
