Mountain Pie Tacos
- 1 pound(s) pre-cooked lean ground beef
- 1 package taco seasoning
- shredded cheddar cheese
- thinly sliced onion
- thinly sliced green peppers
- sour cream
Two days before we leave for camp I prepare the ground beef with the taco season and freeze in a freezer bag and prepare onions cheese and green pepper all the day before we leave place in separate containers. When we arrive at camp the taco meat is usually thawed. Lightly butter the pie irons, place a piece of bread on each iron, on one side place spoonfuls of thawed taco meat and whatever toppings you wish, place pies in fire. When pie is browned remove from pie irons from fire. Place salsa and sour cream on side to dip pie into.
