Granola bars

Granola bars

These are great to make ahead of time and take along. A great camping snack from the experts at KOA


  • 2  c  quick cooking oats
  • 1  c  flour
  • 3/4  c  brown sugar
  • 3/4  c  dried cranberries, cherries or raisins
  • 1/2  c  wheat germ
  • 1/2  tsp  salt
  • 1/2  tsp  ground cinnamon
  • 1/2  c  chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1/2  c  vegetable oil
  • 1/2  c  honey
  • 1  egg
  • 2  tsp  vanilla extract


Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and line a 9 x 13 inch pan with aluminum foil. Spray the bottom and sides with non-stick cooking spray.

In large bowl combine the oats, flour, dried fruit, salt, wheat germ, cinnamon and nuts. In a smaller bowl mix the oil, egg, honey, and vanilla. Pour the liquid mixture over the dry ingredients and toss until evenly coated. Press into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool completely then turn out onto cutting board and slice into bars.
