French Toast Casserole

Ingredients

Makes 46

  • 1/4  c  flour
  • 1  c  milk
  • 2  tsp  sugar
  • 1/2  tsp  vanilla
  • dash  salt
  • 1/2  tsp  cinnamon
  • 1/2  tsp  nutmeg
  • 3  eggs, beaten
  • 4  slices thick French bread, cubed
  • 3  oz. cream cheese cut into 1/2 cubes
  • 1/2  c  blueberries or other fruit
  • 1/2  c  pecans or walnuts

Preparation

Mix together first 7 ingredients. Beat eggs and add to mixture. Add bread cubes, stir until coated. Pour in greased 8x8 pan and top evenly with cream cheese, berries and nuts. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to 24 hours. Bake uncovered 20 - 25 minutes at 400 degrees or until golden brown. Serve with butter and syrup.
