Crispy Crunch Bars


Makes 24

  • 3  c  tiny marshmallows
  • 3  Tbsp  margarine or butter
  • 1/2  tsp  vanilla
  • 5  c  crisp rice cereal or round toasted oat cereal
  • 1  c  raisins, peanuts, sunflower nuts or snipped gumdrops


Line a 13x9x2-inch baking pan with foil. Butter the foil. In a large saucepan melt marshmallows and the 3 tbsp margarine over low heat; stirring constantly until marshmallows are melted. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. Stir in half of the cereal at a time. Fold in raisins, peanuts, sunflower nuts or snipped gumdrops, if desired. Turn mixture into prepared pan. Press evenly with the back of a wooden spoon or with buttered hands. Cool. Cut into bars.
