Chocolate/Peanut Butter Krispies


  • 1  c  smooth peanut butter
  • 6  oz  chocolate chips
  • 1  c  sugar
  • 6  oz  butterscotch chips
  • 1  c  white Karo syrup
  • 5  c  Rice Krispy-type cereal


In a pan, heat the peanut butter, sugar and white syrup on medium heat. Bring to a boil. Remove from stove. In a large mixing bowl add this mixture to the cereal. Stir quickly and mix well. Pour this into a buttered 9 x 13 oblong pan. Melt the chocolate and butterscotch chips in the microwave. Defrost is a good setting to use. It usually takes about 5-6 minutes. When melted, mix together well and spread over cereal mixture. Do not cut until this topping is set well. Cut into 2 inch squares.
