Campfire Pineapple Upsidedown Cakes

Campfire Pineapple Upsidedown Cakes

I prepare these while I prepare our dinner then add them to the grill and let cook while we eat. The coals are usually cooler. The kids like to make their own and twist the foil into a shape they will recognize as their own. And no mess to clean up.

Ingredients

  • 1  box glazed doughnuts (6 - 8)
  • 1  can pineapple rings
  • 12 - 16  pats of butter
  • 6 - 8  marachino cherries
  • 6 - 8  tsp  brown sugar

Preparation

Prepare 1 large square aluminum foil per each serving. Place 1 pat of butter in center of foil. Place 1 pineapple ring on top of butter and 1 doughnut on top of pineapple. Add 1 tsp. Brown Sugar into doughnut hole. Add another pat of butter on top of brown sugar. Top with 1 Marachino cherry. Bring sides of foil over top of dessert and twist top. Place on campfire grill near low heat & cook 5-10 minutes.
