Take this opportunity to explore one of the most reportedly haunted locations! This is a special two in one event. It includes an overnight investigation taking place the night of the Azalea Festival fireworks display over the Cape Fear River. Viewing of the fireworks will be from the fantail of the ship, certainly a prime location, and then participants will break up into small groups to begin the investigation for paranormal activity. Previous paranormal experiences have occurred after a fireworks display. The investigation will continue until morning. Those that cannot stay up all night will have the unique opportunity to sleep aboard the ship.

The 2020 Carolina Cup is the official start of SUP race season with six races charted through the waters surrounding beautiful Wrightsville Beach! Races include a kid's course, Harbor Island Recreational "fun" race, the Money Island Open Race and the ultimate challenge of the 13.2 mile Elite Graveyard Race. Also in store for the weekend, enjoy the Outrigger Harbor Island Race and the Red Paddle Company Dragon Race. Now in its ninth year, this competition has grown to be one of the largest and most competitive SUP races in the world with over 800 athletes competing. Bring the family and stay to learn from the pros in clinics and exclusive events in Wrightsville Beach, the perfect place to paddleboard. Five days of SUP clinics and expos entwine two days of some of the best standup paddleboard competitions in the world!

Accept the open water challenge of the Annual Pier-2-Pier Swim Race at beautiful Wrightsville Beach. This annual event entails swimming approximately 1.7 miles between Johnnie Mercer's Pier and the Crystal Pier around marker buoys. Hear is your chance to dance barefoot on the sand or just sway to the Beach Music Beat while standing in the surf. Held the first Saturday in June, the Beach Music Festival hosted by the Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce is billed as "the biggest and only beach music festival actually held on the beach on the North Carolina coast" and one of the longest running beach music festivals in the United States. Competitors start out with a 375 meter ocean swim. Upon exiting the water, participants put on their running gear at the "Beach Transition Area" and run 1.5 miles to the "Bike Transition Area". Participants then complete a 20K bike ride on a closed course (no traffic). Then it's back on with the running gear for the 1.5 mile run back to the "Beach Transition Area". Participants complete the race by once again swimming the 375 meter course.

The O'Neill/ Sweetwater Pro-Am held on Wrightsville Beach has grown into one of the largest surfing contests on the East Coast and attracts surfers from around the world. The PPD IRONMAN 70.3 North Carolina triathlon will take place on much of the same course as its bigger sibling and will feature a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike and 13.1-mile run.
