The campground hosts were very friendly. The campground was always clean, maintained, and plenty of fun things to do. We went for the eclipse and received gift boxes with eclipse related items such as a moon pie, sunchips, eclipse stickers, and drink koozy. I would definitely stay here again.

It was a lovely KOA with all you might need, however not the best for tent camping. The interstate was deafening in the primitive campsite area, which was really the main complaint. You also had to slog through spongy ground and wet grass from car to campsite. Wasn't expecting that, or the noise from a KOA. I imagine for RV or cabin sites neither of these things were a problem. I felt very welcome

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

unfortunately there's nothing we can do about the road noise and it rained nearly 5 inches in the days before you arrived. Not sure what you were expecting from a KOA since both complaints are beyond our control

First time at a KOA, won't be the last. Facility was terrific, absolutely exceeded expectations. Only downside was highway ambient noise at the tent sites, which was louder than I expected. Ended up sleeping with air pods in to cut down on noise.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

So glad you liked the campground! We are close to the highway which is convenient...but adds some noise depending on the way the ever present wind is blowing! Thank you!.....maybe we'll see you again!

Karen and the rest of the staff were friendly and accommodating. The ice cream was delicious. I got to swim in the pool, shoot some hoops, and read under the shade on the chair swing. There is a large grassy field for a game of wiffle ball or throw the ball to your pooch. The outdoor chess board was a great way to meet other campers and have a battle of wits! The store was stocked. Thumbs up!

We pulled into the Wapakoneta KOA tired and hungry. As we registered at the desk, we ordered a pizza. The managers delivered a delicious hot pizza to our campsite. The restrooms were clean and the camp was well cared for.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thank you for your comments! It's been cold but we have been working tirelessly to get the camp in shape for the season. So glad that you enjoyed the pizza!

I sordid that we were offered a shady tent site. Staff was very friendly and helpful as well as concerned for our welfare when severe weather blew in. Pool was clean and a wonderful temperature. All areas of the campground were functioning and in good repair. Loved the cafe! Thanks for a great stay. Will definitely visit again as I have friends in the area.

Campground was super clean & friendly - everything was great, except the loud expressway. That’s the ONLY drawback. It was so loud I kept waking up.

While I did have a great time up in Wapakoneta at the end of the day I'm reviewing the campsite itself not the city and fun stuff we did and all I can say is: very disappointing. The prices in the camp store are ridiculous, charging people to play pool in the game room is absurd, and the lot of land itself just isn't that big or impressive. $40 a night in a tent is asking WAY to much in my eyes.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Sorry your stay wasn't what you thought it would be. Our site prices are in line with other campgrounds and the store is for your convenience. Our game room is not free and I know of no campground where it is. You may be more suited to less expensive State Parks and no amenities....Happy Camping

We stayed in the Deluxe Cabin for 4 nights, it was comfortable. The camp is clean and safe and even though it was near the end of the season there was a lot for us to do both at the camp and in the surrounding area. Such as - The Neil Armstrong Museum, Heritage Park (river walk, and our 6 month old Bernedoodle enjoyed a nice romp at the dog, the historical downtown) there are several parks around town with playgrounds as well. The campground also has a dog park both for big and small dogs. A playground and arcade for the big and little kids. ha ha We enjoyed our little get-away to the KOA at Wapakoneta. It was nice, relaxing and a fun way to spend our 34th wedding anniversary with just the 2 of us and our puppy. :) Kevin and Karen were so accommodating and helpful! Karen even mailed an item we left behind. Thank You! * sharing a picture of Bernie our puppy because this was "Bernie's Road Trip" and because he so adorable :)
