We stayed in cabin2. It was clean and ready when we got there. Parking was a little tight with parking for cabin 3 right next to us. Trim the bushes and trees arond the cabin for easier access in the drive way.

The campgrounds are carefully taken care of and the staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place for anyone who is looking for a great spot.

We enjoyed our stay -- loved the peacocks, the pool, and the creek. My kids spent hours on the bounce pad. That said, the bathrooms by the pool are falling apart. While they do need to be cleaned more often and thoroughly, especially on the weekend, they truly need a renovation. Parts of the floor in the women's restroom were sinking, one of the showers was out of order.

The cabin was run down, towels were old, shower sprayed water out and entire bathroom was wet, cobwebs and spiders inside the cabin, peacocks damaged our car, peacocks poop everywhere, peacock sound took away from rest and relaxation all day and night, pool chairs were old and dingy, pine needles and cones all around the pool unable to walk barefoot. Rock climbing and gold mining were unavailable.

Great stay overall but there were problems. No outdoor chairs at Cabin 4 except 2 lounge chairs. The previous residents had dumped the remains of 3 fires right on the patio and no one had cleaned it up. We had a grease fire in the barbecue grill at Cabin 2 because the grill had not been cleaned prior to our stay. Smoke alarms went off in Cabin 8 but the staff responded very quickly which was great

1. There was a mini fridge, but no freezer. 2. The cabin could've used more hooks on the wall for storage, and it would be nice if there were a desk and chair for getting work done. 3. Some cleaners were cleaning the unit adjacent to us (separated only by a locked door) early in the morning (before 9AM), and it was extremely loud and obnoxious. This should be done at a different time of day.

we took our 4 grand kids ages 5-11, it was our first time , we booked the TEEPEES , they are so cute and comfy!! The Zip lining for the kids was a lot of fun and exciting ! the kids also did the treasure hunt so cool . weather was perfect , pool was nice and cool !! i love that they are Dog friendly. the creek was fun ! we will definitely book again !

We loved every minute we were there, I only have one complain. The chairs and wooden deck just needed to be cleaned of of spider webs. I got a broom and had to clean all the outdoor patio chairs �� and got all spider webs offsite the chairs and deck. Other than that it was AMAZING thank you so much ���

The woman's restrooms in the pool area need revamping the bathroom has holes and needs an entire new floor. When I showered Saturday morning there was no hot water. I took a cold shower and my kids would not shower in cold water. There's only 1 shower in the pool area and that doesn't suffice for that area. We had to drive around looking for available showers.

We love the location and the staff is amazing! Our kids love riding bikes and playing by the river. The one thing that was a bummer was the bathrooms and showers weren’t working so we had to walk pretty far for a flushing toilet.

The cabin was filthy at every turn. Sheets had stains, body hair on dining table, A/C blew moldy smelling air out. Loft had dog/pet fur even though the policy stated no pets allowed. The bathroom had a strong urine odor, dusty surfaces, bad odors, dead bugs on window sills, and spiders inside. Beds were uncomfortable and we ended leaving early and never will return nor recommend to anyone.

The campground is great for families. Lots of amenities for the Littles. However, the bathroom/shower areas need better maintenance. Many of the showers were out of order. Some didn’t drain well. Others would go from hot to cold and back again. And still others lacked adequate water pressure.

Everything was fine except our Wagon didn’t have the electricity we were promised. We called that Friday night for help, yet no one returned our call. We stayed in Wagon B. The wagon was nice, but dusty and it has webs all over the bunk bed. The bed on the lower bunk need replacement and it would be nice to change the beds to were we can disinfect them before putting our own bed sheets.

I gave 4 stars because the shower in the cabins are either burning hot or freezing cold. And then the our entire stay at the KOA smelled like sewer. And at $300 per night that’s just things that shouldn’t be like that. I would have given 5 stars if those things weren’t like that. The place is nice and has fun things to do. Staff is very kind.

This is from my FB post:-Three day adventure, lots to do, lots to see, lots to enjoy, lots of fun & lots to share Oh yes, one more item-free roaming peacocks that seemed to vocalize around the clock.�� Zip line, Jumping Pillow, Pool, Play Ground, World Labyrinth, & our camp spots each with a huge Tipi to have a good night's sleep.. Didn't mention condition of the restrooms - need improvement

We LOVE Ventura KOA and our stays past/present have been enjoyable however THIS particular time we noticed a CONSIDERABLE amount of trash all over the camp. Our site in particular CWD was disgusting: dirty diapers, several cans, candy wrappers and misc trash bits all over our site. WE filled a bag with garbage BEFORE setting up camp! Please consider charging fees for campers leaving garbage behind

The AC basically doesn’t work since we need to keep it above 76. A whole house fan would be better. The bathrooms by the pool are very gross We loved the cabin but our kids were grossed out by the covers on the mattresses in the loft. Lots of stains on them. The wall climber was broken when we came last year so that should be fixed. The pool is too shady so it’s cold and the playground is full

I loved the campsite we were in, and we had a blast at the pool. The only complaint/suggestion I have is this.. we have been going to this KOA for Years every summer with my kiddos and the bathrooms have always been the exact same, except that they are now falling apart and one shower is out of order.. there are holes in the floor in front of a couple toilets, etc. Maybe it is time to update?

We loved the stay. We the nature feel to it. We love the the wildlife. We loved the different activities that the kids can do. Minor detail my shower was clogged but immediately fixed. The toilet moved and the floor sinked in. I would recommend fixing the floor. Those details didn’t affect our stay. We’ll going back for sure. We loved it there!

Ant infested cabin. Ants were in cabinets, beds, sinks and vents. No hot water (or warm) in the kitchen, garbage disposal broken. Dirty stained mattress and pillows. Bbq dirty and covered in ants. No manager on duty to speak to at check out. Grounds are run down. We spent our two days there trying to abate the ant issue, they said they would spray outside but they were in the walls.

It was a beautiful location and we had a fun stay, but the price is higher and it only provides access to the site and the pool. There are no longer movies and the fun activities are at a substantial extra cost. So, while we had a nice stay, I probably will not return.

Rented out a Tipi and the conditions were unsatisfactory tent wasn’t swept, bugs everywhere, door wouldn’t close, the exterior had trash and dog feces. We felt uncomfortable to stay in it over night so we packed up and went home. I have been calling management and I haven’t heard a response. Very disappointing!

This was our 5th year in a row with a very large group. There was talk among the group that maybe we should trip a different camp like Flying Flags in Buellton. The camp is starting to really show its age. I think this is the 3rd year we’ve been where one of the two showers by the pool was not working. Debris all around the campgrounds. I've got more to stay but not enough characters left.

Bathrooms by the teepees were quite. dirty - could be because of the groups staying there. Also, there were rowdy teens in the pool with no oversight and they ended up accidentally hurting a younger child.

Facility staff were friendly and great to deal with! The store had everything you needed, and the prices were very reasonable. Campground and facilities were clean. My kids enjoyed the campsite, the playground, the bike track, and riding around the campground. Only disappointment was the zipline being closed during the week. It looks like a lot of fun, and was tempting, but unavailable mid-week.

We booked and stayed at Ventura Ranch after having a successful KOA experience at San Diego Resort a month ago. Ventura Ranch offered more real camping experience, including bike tracks, access to the creek, and labyrinth etc. We enjoyed staying there, except pool wasn’t heated so we couldn’t get in, (it was too cold) and almost non existent and poor set up for the kids activities.

Terrible customer service, no hot water. Lights & heater in our wagon were out. Called the front desk twice and went to the office once to get the heater and lights fixed not one person showed up to fix our heater and our lights. Lady in the front desk wasn’t too friendly when we let her know about the things that were not working. So I had no choice but to leave the campsite.

I stayed at Ventura Ranch KOA over the weekend and had such a great experience. We booked one of the cabins, and it was fully loaded—honestly, all we had to do was show up and enjoy. It made the trip super easy and stress-free. The pool opened early, which was a nice bonus, and there were so many activities to keep everyone entertained. The zip lines were a highlight, and kids will love things like gem mining and tie-dye. There's definitely no shortage of fun things to do. One of the coolest parts of the stay was seeing wild peacocks wandering around the property—it added a really unique touch to the whole experience. Overall, it was a fun, relaxing getaway, and I'm already looking forward to going back!

We rented a cabin and froze the first night bc there were no instructions on how to operate the "digital" heater. Also it did not state on the website that none of the children's activities were open during the week, which is when we were there during spring break. 😡
