If you live in the Lower Keys or you’re heading down for a vacation, it helps to know there’s a convenient, full-service marina right here on Sugarloaf Key. The Sugarloaf Key / Key West KOA Marina is open to the public and stocked for real days on the water, whether you’re running out for a few hours of fishing, fueling up before a longer trip, or looking for easy rentals for the family.
We’re open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., so it’s simple to stop in early, grab what you need, and get on the water.
A lot of people assume KOA marinas are only for registered campers, but our marina welcomes the public. We maintain 90% of our slips open to the public, and our fuel dock and boat ramp are also open to the public for a fee. If you’re a local looking for a straightforward place to launch, fuel, or pick up bait and ice, we’re set up to be an easy stop.
Our marina store is built around the things boaters actually need at the last minute. You’ll find live and frozen bait, plus a solid selection of fishing gear and supplies like rods, reels, line, hooks, and more. We also carry essentials like food, beer, and ice, so you can load the cooler and head out without another stop.
Fuel is available at our marina, which makes it easy to top off before your trip or refuel when you come back in. If you’re exploring the Lower Keys, it’s always a good feeling to know you have a reliable fuel stop close by.
Need a place to launch? Our boat ramp is open to the public for a fee. If you’re looking for a slip, reservations can be made up to one year in advance on a first come, first served basis. Planning ahead is especially helpful during busier seasons.
If your goal is fishing, we can help you get outfitted quickly. We offer daily pole rentals and bait for sale, plus the gear you may have forgotten at home. We also offer daily snorkeling equipment rentals, which is a great option for visiting friends and family who want to add a water day to the trip without bringing a lot of equipment.
One of the most helpful conveniences we offer is fishing licenses. We are a local agent, so you can take care of it right at the marina. Even better for weekend plans, we are one of the only places in the area that sells fishing licenses on Sundays.
We’ve partnered with Cudjoe Custom Carts to offer on-site golf cart rentals with daily, weekly, and monthly rates. It’s an easy way for guests to get around the property, and for longer stays it can be a great convenience. Rentals are available at the marina along with other options like kayaks, paddleboards, bikes, and boats.
