Enjoyed our stay, very busy Friday and Saturday. Alot of activities for kids. Pet friendly. We would stay again

We wanted to have a KOA experience so we could provide an honest, unbiased review as travel advisors. We stayed over Memorial Day weekend for 3 nights and here were our experiences: This location is perfect! You are extremely close to the beach, there are good restaurants, a Target, and grocery stores in the immediate area, Veteran's Memorial Park is just across the street, and the Pinellas Trail traverses the campground. If you don't want to leave the campground, this locale has plenty of family friendly activities such as kayak rental, bike rental, golf cart rental, swimming pool, pickleball and volleyball courts, and fishing dock. We found the staff to be exceptionally friendly and attentive, and I was very impressed with the customer service! The general store was cute and was well stocked but there are increased costs associated with shopping in their store. We stayed in a 2 bdrm deluxe cabin and there were 6 of us - 4 adults and two kids ages 9 and 5. We were fortunate that the kids were able to share the sofa bed while the couples had the bedroom. Personally, it was too small for our size, but we made it work and the kids were champs. We didn't spend too much time in the cabin but had there been inclement weather that would have kept us inside while everyone was awake, it would have been very tight. Our cabin did have a very musty smell and we attributed that to the AC not being on before we checked in. The cabin's amenities included full bathroom with shower, stove top, and refrigerator. A dog bowl with treats was provided as well. On the deck were comfortable seating and a Weber propane grill. The cabin was stocked with linens, towels, plates, silverware, and glassware. We were provided with one trash bag but I simply went to the general store and requested and received additional bags. Although we had a shower and bathroom in our cabin, the basic cabins do not have those features so we each went to the public facilities to experience the shower and the public restrooms. We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the showers and the restrooms. It was not a far walk from our cabin, but if you are looking at budget friendly cabins, there were plenty around the public facilities. Overall this was a positive experience! This is a great alternative to hotels and expensive rentals, and it provides you with the opportunity to have a fun family vacation in a very desirable location. I would not have entertained a cabin with lesser amenities due to our travel size, but there are smaller cabins with lesser amenities that are more budget friendly.
