Lots of bugs, one pool looked rough, the other was closed. Friendly staff, could be beautiful. Overall I haven't been impressed with KOA as a whole. I am a full time RV'er and will soon take the stance of no more KOA's

Not to good, out of 150 shaded spots we got one totally in the sun and during the day we could only get the RV down to 84 degrees. Lots of construction, very noisy starting early.

The whole place is run down, and not unkept well. I can understand the construction that was going on at the cabins. But ants were infesting all of our things. Clothes bedding all of our food inside our coolers. We were switched sites but then were told it’s just part of nature. Bed bugs all on the side of buildings and on chairs and the playscape. I stayed many years at this campground in the 1990s and 2000s but moved back north for many years. I was suprised to see it hasn't changed much but was disappointed with all the construction during my 2 month stay this summer and you charged prices almost identical to Palmetto Shores and they have alot more amenities and no constuction. I still loved my visit, it brought back many memories.

It was full of ants camper got invested. Bathrooms were nasty pool was green and grass was high. Terrible experience.

Disappointed that it says that there’s putter golf there and that was a disaster totally unbelievable. There were ants all over our camper all over the campsite. Of course the mayflies wasn’t any help.

Spectacular site overlooking the lake. A lot of ants that invaded our camper. The staff is fantastic. They found my phone that I didn’t realize I lost. They figured out whose phone it was and delivered it. Thank you!!!! They are investing in many improvements and look forward to coming back.

Great location. Lots of fun things to do. Friendly staff. And totally infested with ants. Woke up to ants in the camper. Thankfully I had taken the trash out the night before. My site wasn’t the cleanest. There were beer bottle tops and cigarette butts everywhere. So it’s a mixed review. Super dope site that could stand an extermination.

Unfortunately there was a lot of construction going on. Probably needed upgrades, however it degraded our camping experience! We actually left early!

From the moment we arrived, we experienced issues: water line had been cut, resulting in no water; wi-fi lines had been cut resulting in terrible service (or no service); the pool was green; construction everywhere; ants over everything; beach had trash and dead creatures - it was a primitive campground and not what we're used to with KOA and NOT worth the $65 we paid per night.

Staff is very friendly. Excellent location. However, RV sites can be frustrating. Most of them have the electric pedalstal near the front of the site making it difficult if a camper has the hook up in the rear of the camper. Noticed several, including mine, trying to keep their camper within the site while trying to plug in. Also, many sites are lower than the sewer connection.

Close to exit for on / off ease. Camp needs work. Although it looks like they’re making progress. Mayflies are terrible. Don’t know if there’s a time in the summer when they aren’t out. Can they spray? Staff friendly and helpful. Nice beach and a good location. We had a night club behind us that played music ( pretty good) and at least on that Friday night, they quit around 11:00pm.

This place did not feel like a real KOA branded park. It was in terrible condition. The roads were trash, holes everywhere, sites look like no one maintained them. It looked horrible and I would never stay there again. The WiFi was unstable and would cut off after a few seconds. I wouldn’t have paid to stay at a location like this.

Santee KOA is a great stop. However, there are no gravel pads, sites are not level, restrooms need updating. The current owners are working on renovations but in the meantime it is a little rough around the edges.

The check-in staff and the folks guiding you to your campground were exceptional could not ask for a better customer service. I would, however, strongly consider getting a pool company in to take care of the pool. The quality of the water was clearly not what it should be and I question whether or not it’s being properly maintained.

Although they are in the process of renovations, the campground was all dirt. There was no grass, no gravel or concrete pads. I was constantly sweeping and moping my floors. We almost always stay at KOA.s but this was the worst. There was a beautiful campground next door that we will be staying at next year.

As always, the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. However, they are currently undergoing renovations that have some of the sites kind of in turmoil. So if planing more than overnight stay, be aware of the ongoing construction, closures of bath houses etc.

We were just passing through the area and needed an overnight stay. The office staff was very friendly and helpful. In addition, when we were leaving we needed some LP gas for our motorhome, Mike one of the employees escorted us to the filling station and filled the tank. Mike was super friendly and polite. Overall great place to stay with many large pull through sites and fuel stations just down.

Never respond to any request we called before closing and left a message twice. No one called. We had to find someone to check in. Took about 30 minutes. They said they were gonna call in the morning. No call till late afternoon for Michael. Terrible. Emergency phone no one ever answered, and you couldn't leave a message

Santee Lakes KOA is our home away from home, we try to go at least once a month to just sit by the lake... just wish the golf carts would stay off the sand by the pier and beach. Guests need to use some common sense. We've been loving watching the renovations! The only negative is completely unrelated to KOA. The restaurant at Palmetto Shores is loud and obnoxious.

It was an amazing stay. Extremely relaxing and we have already booked for next year. Can't wait to see it after all the renovations are done. One suggestion would be to leave a net or at the pool. Because it was during the May flies they were all in the water and it would have been nice to be able to clean it so we could swim comfortably.

Staff members were helpful, friendly, and wearing employee shirts which I had recommended last year to identify them. Also, it was great to be at the beach and playground without any dogs!!

We enjoyed our stay at KOA Santee. Our spot was clean and level with the hookups accessible. Our only issue is that we travel with our dog and it would be better for her to be able to run free and stretch her legs, but the dog park has no fence. Maybe that is something to concider in the future. We would definitelystay here again.

High expectations but high disappointment. The main office and store are closed and a make shift office was used for check in. Low WIFI meant slow registration. Playground had yellow tape around it and closed. Beach furniture was old, unkept and insect invested. RV sites had poor water and electrical hook ups. Low water pressure. The May Fly infested our stay and camper was coated with them.

The staff is GREAT! The distance from our camp to the lake was perfect. The grounds are well kept. The bathhouse was ALWAYS clean. Even though they were under construction (adding new cabins and moving the main check-in) the staff was still very attentive. If we plan to be in the area again we will def be back!

You need direct tv , that way campers have cable ! Its a nice place , but no food , no tv , it needs to get like other koas that offer all these things . Your working on it , our timing was not good , we enjoyed the lake being there , we had a good night , morning we were swarmed by thousands of mayflies , thousands and thousands.

We stayed in the 3bd/bathroom house. This was a very clean and newly renovated house. It is close to the dock, play ground, and swimming area. Our visit was early October so a few things were not available; pool and putt putt. Lots of construction going on during our time but it didnt bother us. I will say that this place does not have a pool with lazy river, splash pad or fish shape kids pool, that is next door. The volleyball net needs to be replaced. The store does not supply essentials. Only ice cream and merch.

Spent a month at this KOA. Ruby was wonderful. Anything we needed, she went above and beyond. The campground is being renovated so there was some confusing things and Ruby explained everything and was just so helpful and sweet.
