This is a shady covered campground so you feel like you’re in the forest. Located on Lake Marion, there is a dock and a beach with chairs. The employees were very professional and welcoming. We had FHU, with a picnic table and a fire ring. We will be back!

The internet is spotty at best, and needs to improve. Beautiful view of the lake, but the campground is currently under construction and it took away from our stay this time. We understand some of the lines for the internet were cut during construction so maybe why it was not the best this visit.

Staff and sites were very nice, but in the morning my camper was filled with ants. One thousand would be an understatement… and we were only there 9 hours.

I was very disappointed at the condition of this KOA. I had to change 3 times due to how in even the sites were. Even if I stayed on an uneven site I wouldn’t have been able to level my RV. The second day I had ants marching in my RV. We had to go and get any spray to spray onside and all around the RV including the ground. We told the office but nothing was addressed. Book next door!!

Has much potential. Much construction deters from its ambiance. Noisy with taped off areas, beach chairs scattered and dirty. Pool seemed neglected also. Kids pool closed.

Your location is convenient, safe, and scenic. I have stayed with you before and that’s why I returned. I’ve never had a complaint at any time. However, this visit our RV was inundated with black ants and carpenter ants over night. I hope you will seek better pest control.

Very disappointed, this was not a KOA standard at all. The sites were uneven and unkempt. We had a dirty diaper and pile of dog poop on our site. Tree roots all over, ant beds, grass not mowed and just overall disappointing. We love KOA’s but this was terrible.

For our purpose it was wonderful - overnight pitstop. Resort is easy on and off 95 and staff were super pleasant. Sites are gravel/dirt and a little tight for our 41’ bus. The lake does look beautiful too but we didn’t get to enjoy.

This is the worst KOA that I have ever camped in! The place is under construction, (looks like an undated septic system). The roads are dirt, not gravel. And potholes, lots of potholes. The site was ungraded with an old picnic table and ants. We did have music, very loud music!

Very convenient to highway, spacious sites, mostly level, shady and easily navigable. Bugs made it difficult to stay outside for long. Nice amenities particularly getting pizza and wings delivered right to our site!

Campground is in an ideal location on the lake. Just wish management was doing ANY pest management. The trees are COVERED in ants. We knew of the issue and brought $50 of our own poison to make the site tolerable but we still got bit up Power and water both shut off at different parts during the weekend with no warning or apologies. Hopefully things will improve once construction is comple

The site had a lot of tree Debree which could have been blown off prior to arrival. Too many ants. Lost power for a few hours on the 12th which forced me to use my generator which was an added expense. If there could be some form of credit for in inconvenience that would be greatly apricated.

When we stayed at the KOA in Charleston we received a text when the water had to be turned off for repair. It would have been nice to receive a text message about the power loss and when it came back on. We were using our generator for the fridge and fans for our senior dog. We were sitting there for 30 minutes before one of our neighbors told us the power had returned. Just saying.

We’ve stayed here several times now… We’ve had a different issue every time we stay. The last was construction that started early, but was not noted to guest (online or at check-in). They were also working on the community center and the contractors blocked the entry to the dog park. We haven’t felt valued as customers any of our stays. Only reason they get two stars instead of one is

We were not pleased with our stay. The sites were small and crampy. All dirt. We paid extra for "lake view" but all we saw was the camper beside us. We also had an ant infestation second day.

Good campground! The site was a bit uneven, but certainly workable. Check in was smooth. I only stayed one night, so I didn’t get to experience much in the way of amenities.

Campground is infested with ants. My camper is full of them in just one night. Would not recommend staying there.

We arrived to the campground to find it under extensive repair. The first site we were taken to was too small for our fifth wheel despite our length being noted on our reservation. It was soft dirt that nearly got us stuck. The second site they took us to was not much better. The sewage was not useable because it had just been installed and I was told not to use it. The cost should have been half.

We just stayed annoyed however the location is just fantastic right on the lake. The camp crowd seemed to be nice and clean they were. They are making some improvement at the time but overall it was a pleasant overnight stay.

Could'nt do much outside for fighting gnats and ants. Asked to be moved because the spot we were on was covered with roots that caused a lot of trip hazzards for my disabled wife. we ended up on a lot with no sewer and not much in price difference. Would not have booked if we had known they were under construction they turned the water off for at least 4 hours one day.

Our stay was great !!! The park is beautiful and very clean.The staff is very friendly, the reason I gave it a 4 is because if you plan on watching tv there internet is bad. But all and all the park is great

Great site. Noise level was fine despite all of your renovations. I know you guys are excited about the new office area. Our only complaint would be the small black ants that invaded our camper. Over all stay was good. Thanks

We love Santee Lakes KOA for the lake and the staff. The constant ant infestation that somehow comes for a 150 mile drive home is really getting old. We put down ant granules before we pull onto a site and we still end up covered in ant bites and bombing our camper once we get home. The constant construction mess is fine and has us excited about the future but the ants need mitigation.

Realize remodeling in process. Gem in the rough. Permanent spots really need cleaned up. Beach needs cleaned. Trash about. Ants everywhere .Staff super nice.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The grounds were great with lots of trees, which made a very peaceful stay. I would definitely stay at this KOA campground again. Thank you!

Office staff very friendly, the staff member who showed me to my site was not. Ruby was awesome, she went out of her way to help me with directions. Unfortunately I ended up with an ant infestation, do you spray routinely for ants or other critters? Once all the construction is done I expect the campground will be more esthetically pleasing.

We stayed in the 3bd/bathroom house. This was a very clean and newly renovated house. It is close to the dock, play ground, and swimming area. Our visit was early October so a few things were not available; pool and putt putt. Lots of construction going on during our time but it didnt bother us. I will say that this place does not have a pool with lazy river, splash pad or fish shape kids pool, that is next door. The volleyball net needs to be replaced. The store does not supply essentials. Only ice cream and merch.

Spent a month at this KOA. Ruby was wonderful. Anything we needed, she went above and beyond. The campground is being renovated so there was some confusing things and Ruby explained everything and was just so helpful and sweet.
