We were there for an overnight stay. Had a really nice site, with a bbq. The family is working hard to make this a great place to stay. It’s in a great location across from a great grocery store so you can stock up on essentials for your trip. Close to lots of restaurants and near the golf course. It wasn’t opened yet, but looked like fun!

Great location, easy access on and off highway. Spaces were wide enough. It’s an older KOA, just needs some updates in bathrooms.

Third time to stay here - always pleasant & easy! It's an older, very well maintained park with super staff! Friendly & helpful people, convenient to everything in & around Raton, good area for walking the dog :-) Always eager to get back and definitely recommend as a good place to stay.

Nice wide pull through site. Clean campground with lots of area to walk our dog. Good for a couple of nights. Would stay again.

I just had a one night stopover. Easy access, quiet and affordable. Only needed electricity so opted for the less expensive site and had an enjoyable evening. Thank you!

Seventh time we have stayed here. Grant was great again. Bathrooms always clean and well maintained. Had to leave really early to beat snow storm for Denver. Great stopping place for all our travels.

The place looks much better than back in Nov 2023. Miss the pancakes, but the showers were a bit better so all in all a great price for a nice pull thru space. Same day booking was flawless.

Austin East KOA has to be the nicest, cleanest and most well run KOA that we have ever stayed at. Our overnight stay was amazing and the level pull-thru space and new marine grade electrical and sewer hook ups made our late evening arrival all the more pleasant. The location was perfect, away from any highways or train traffic which allowed us the opportunity to enjoy the peace and quiet.

I stayed in Jan 24 and it was very cold and had snowed. Facilities were open and check in was easy and host did best to help me untangle my concurrent bookings. (Freeway was closed and couldn’t make my original destination)

We had a wonderful time, the owners are very friendly and helpful. The campground is clean and surrounded by a nice scenery. We would love to come back.

Management and staff are very friendly and helpful. Only problem this time was the women's bathroom being unavailable to the park visitors at the far end of the campground. It is a very nice facility in the area.

It was an extremely cold and windy weather and it was just good to get off the road early. KOA always feels like home after a big day of travelling. Kind of like comfort food.

Just over night traveling from Nebraska to Arizona. Nice place to stay.

Had a nice night in Raton, even with wind. New managers at the camp are working to improve it and they are nice and helpful. Sites were wide and long. We would come back there when traveling through New Mexico on 25.

This is a relatively small campground but neat and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The dog area is fenced and there is plenty of space for walking the perimeter of the park for a little extra exercise for dogs and their people.

We didn't know how fr we could travel so we couldn't make reservations. We walked in and they found us a spot. Everything work well, the spaces were clean, and we were very pleased.

Staff gave instructions. Other staff person there did not greed, nor acknowledge me. A few suggestions: regrade and/or add gravel to driveways and sites to improve travel thru campground, setting up & leveling. Navigating around the campground from our site to the dump station was awkward. We’ve stayed at several KOA‘s across the country and in Canada. This place needs a facelift.

If you are going to camp in Raton look no further! The front desk employee Grant is by far the sweetest KOA employee we have ever met. This location is also very convenient and affordable. They have the cheapest laundry we have found in the west and the facilities (restroom, showers, laundry room) were clean. They have ice cream in the front office/store. They have a dog park, a playground, and a dog walk. They also have take a book leave a book.

A quiet spot near the northeast NM/CO border. Stayed here end of Mar 2024. Pull-through FHU 50 amp. Dirt pad. Site #15 General: 1) Peaceful place. 2) Close to Taos and a few other interesting spots. 3) Some sites have shared connection areas Campground WiFi: Worked pretty well. Cell/hotspot using booster: AT&T (3 of 4 bars—4G). Able to work on VPN, Zoom meetings, and stream. Cell/hotspot using booster: Verizon (3 of 4 bars, sometimes 4 bars—4G). Able to work on VPN, Zoom meetings, and stream. Details: Check-in: Normal KOA checkin at office. Simple and easy. Sites: Dirt/ gravel pad. Fairly spacious sites. Site 19: Was not our site but we noticed that the patio side connects directly to laundry and restrooms, so folks seem to forget their manners and cut through that site's patio spot. Campground Road: Dirt road but not bumpy. Grounds: Clean. Bathrooms/Showers: Very clean and well-maintained. Laundry: Worked well. 4 washers. 4 dryers. Washers were a touch smaller than normal, if that is of a concern to you. Location: Gas 3 min from entrance. Restaurants are about 5 min away. Restaurants—Alfonso's: I had never tried gas station tacos/burritos until this location and they were pretty darn good. Similar experience to having a McDonalds/Taco Bell/etc at a gas stop. Near highway: Yes. Close but cannot hear the interstate. The KOA is directly off of a main road so there is a touch noise during the day. Near train: Not that I recall.

Easily the best KOA I've ever been to. We stayed in the little log cabins and they were amazing. Memory foam mattresses, a good quality heater that actually warms the cabin properly, and the staff made sure to have it running for us before we got there. You will not go wrong renting a cabin here, worth every penny.
