Easy check in and out. Quiet campground. Good stopping place for overnight or a few days. Close to Capulin Volcano National Park. Less than 2 hour drive to Red River, Angel Fire and Taos, New Mexico. Small town, but has restaurants, fast food, grocery store and a few clothing stores as well as gift store.

We arrived at 12:30 on a Friday. The office sign said open but door locked. Did not return our phone call asking about upgrade to 50 amp though the map in late arrivals with our name indicated our site which was 50 amp. Sign on laundry at office said to use facilities in middle of camp but doors locked. Otherwise ok for overnight stay.

It was a perfect stop for our on/off the interstate for the night. The staff was friendly and helpful. Currently they are renovating and the improvements they are making will benefit the campground.

Pros: Hot showers, clean sites with full hookups, friendly staff Cons: Not a place to sit around and enjoy your stay. Right by the interstate, but that’s a pro as well.

Our stay was short but pleasant. Mr Robertson helped us with our hookup and made sure we were comfortable. We are going back later this month.

Website says check in at 1:00... Office hours differ greatly. Pre check-in was a good thing. Location of paperwork was not very clear. Women's restroom door lock needed repair.

Easy access & excellent service. Facilities are not new but a nice campground with what we needed. Our pull through was lengthy and hookups convenient. Small fenced dog run. We got good signals and the young man at check-in was very nice and came out later to make sure our site was OK. Some updated grounds improvement would make it shine. We would stay there again.

We always enjoy staying at the KOA in Raton, New Mexico. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The park is always neat and tidy, and the shower area was so very nice and love the hot water for the duration of our showers. We look forward to coming back again. Thank you so much. We pulled in without a reservation & we're happily accommodated us. We didn't use the showers but the bathrooms were very nice & clean. Park was quiet & hookups were easy

We stayed in one of the standard cabins and found it included a small fridge which wasn't listed which brings up this rating. Overall campground was clean and well laid out, and the host Grant is a wealth of knowledge. The bathroom nearest our cabin was closed due to a reno. However, we were unable to locate the laundry to make dish clean up easy and there were no firepits to enjoy campfires.

Picnic table - warped & tall weeds under it. Dog “park” had a very full dog waste trash can. Park is rundown. No pancake breakfast even though the website said that there was.

Bare bones Journey, but as expected for a KOA it is clean, quiet and safe. The view of the Raton Pass is spectacular.

When we arrived we met the owner/manager of the Raton KOA and he was very nice and very helpful. This a KOA that is not what one expects from a KOA Journey at all, but I do believe it will be in a few years down the road under the current leadership. It is obvious that he is working hard to get it to where it needs to be but he is just one man. We will hopefully check it out again one day.

Tremendous stay as always Camp ground was secure, neat and clean. The only improvement I would make would be to add electric hookups at tent sites and fire rings. It gets colt at night in Raton and would have been nice to sit by the fire. Beyond that we would stay again and appreciate all the staff top notch

We have been staying with Grant and Lisa for 22 years on our way to and coming from Arizona and we find it is relaxing and friendly. Comfy, with everything we need for camping.

We only stayed one night and did not need or use any services except the electricity, so can only coment that the park is well kept, our site was clean and level, our neighbors were friendly, and the wind was strong. The manager, Grant, was pleasant, friendly, and helpful. We will definitely stay at this park again in the future.

Don't like jack and Jill hook ups. Other than that, level, quiet, everything worked. Lots of dog space and friendly helpful workers.

When I first moved to Raton I came here. It was clean and safe. (2019) Prices were great. I had high regards for the family home product they offered... Later in 2024 and 2025 I came to use their propane services. This is now...Again I have only the highest regard for their services. The prices are competitive- but the service is above royal- get your gas here!!! You won't be wrong! In 2026 I have been here to buy gas 11 times. I almost each time, donate to the koa kids camp.( A reflection of my opinion). My service is and has been stellular all 11 times. And their propane prices are low, if you buy at super save or a gas station in town. They will beat those prices!
