Montmorency Falls

Montmorency Falls

At 83 m (272.3') high, a full 30 m (98.4') taller than Niagara Falls, the Montmorency Falls are as spectacular a sight in the summer as in the winter. They are located in a park of the same name only 15 minutes from Old Québec. This is one destination you will not want to miss, as it is where the St. Lawrence River stretches out not far from the base of the cliffs. During your visit, you get to choose between wonder and adventure. Take a cable car to the top of the cliff to admire the falls from a unique vantage point. The view is breathtaking, even in the winter! Cross the suspended bridge to the belvedere, where you can feel the power of the river as it thunders past. For the daredevil in you, follow one of the three via ferrata routes up the cliff, or zoom over the plunge pool on the double zipline 300 m (984') in the air. You can also learn about the site's fascinating history at the interpretation centre. In the summer, you can have a picnic at the historical orchard and test your endurance by climbing the 487 steps of the panoramic staircase. Tourists with a fine palate will appreciate one of the best brunches in the region, served at the Montmorency Manor.

The Quebec/Levis crossing makes for a fun, affordable, and accessible activity.

One of the best things about the Quebec/Levis crossing is the view. By day, you can take in Old Québec's varied architectural landscape, with Chateau Frontenac perched like a crown jewel on the heights of Cap Diamond. At night, you'll be dazzled by the city lights as they bounce off the waves.
