Stayed here in the 90s and went to see Bishop Castle while in the area. Enjoyed the KOA cabin then and was excited to return in 2025 again and find this location even more wonderful than the first time! It is in a great location and the people who run the place are so pleasant and helpful. Enjoyed a return visit to the castle, hiked around Lake Isabel, and explored Westcliffe. Will return again!

This KOA over the years has transitioned to predominately seasonal use which changes the flavor of the park for a traveler. Likely will bypass in the future.

This place is a dive. Laundry room and machines were filthy. Staff not very friendly. Lost power and water for 3 hours and no one came around to update us. Spots are very close. The best part of our stay here was leaving.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Staff was around the park the whole time during the 3-hour window of no power, informing all guest it was 3 cities wide areas with no power. Laundry room is cleaned every day before closing, however sometimes guest stay after to do laundry and could have made a mess.

Office staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating! We only stayed one night after visiting our daughter in Denver for a month & on our way south to Albuquerque before heading back to Florida. We would love to come back for a longer visit!

We stayed at this KOA before not sure if it’s a new management but the room was very dirty I realized it’s a campground but you are paying hotel rates the 2 carpets have never been washed the floor was filthy the bedding was not clean the sinks were dirty it definitely is not cleaned thoroughly after each guest very disappointing won’t stay again needs a good bucket of water pinesol and or b

Cabins are cleaned after each guest. Sorry our cabin wasn't up to your standards. We will look into this, as you have been the only complaint of a not clean cabin.

Nice campground . Super convienant, right off I-25. Great food within 5 minutes. The three Sisters across the Highway is awesome down home cooking. Owner’s Son stayed late to get us in our spot.

Wonderful camp hosts and staff. Would have appreciated the pool opening earlier, 11 was 5 hours after my children woke and there is only so many times we could play the folf and mini golf course. Being able to check out early and have stay refunded would have also been a positive option. Chose to leave by 9 am and still was not issued refund.

The pool opens by 10am every day. It's a holiday weekend so when we hold a site for you and you decide to leave early, no refund.

Employee's are very nice but it is sad that most of the campground including all the good sites are full time residents. Very little of the campground is open to actual campers. Not sure how some KOA campgrounds become Holiday campgrounds. This campground is only good for overnight stay.

The majority of the campground is open to overnight stays, not sure what you are talking about. We have some people that are here for the week for the holiday weekend, etc.

I’m thinking this campground has been a nice one previous to our visit but we were sorely disappointed. The appearance of the park was not good. Trampling through the way unmowed grass was awful!!! We will not be going back here again.

Accommodation was granted for a last minute stay. Colorado City KOA is a repeat stay for us every year!

The owner was sweet, but I think he's a little OCD about the grass on the sites. We have great posts that keep our awning from moving in the wind, but they require spikes to keep them in place. We've never been to an RV park that didn't even allow long nails in the grass. It was pretty windy while we were there, so we didn't put anything outside after all. We enjoyed minigolf in the mornings.

Although the office closed early on a Friday during the summer, Allan who we met outside the office, said he would be happy to return and lock up the pool at normal closing time. After a long day of driving and looking forward to a refreshing swim, Allan became our KOA hero that day.

The location was great. We could walk to the High Octane BBQ restaurant and bar. The drinks were reasonably priced. It’s a short drive to Bishop Castle…totally worth it.. Pueblo River Walk is nice but go early if you want to try to eat anywhere along the river. The campground was spacious and well maintained.

Quick and easy on off from I-25 and a lot of food choices that’s very close. Kamp grounds are well kept of trash. Very quite. Stayed in cabins the are well maintained and clean. 2 time we stayed at this KOA and both times didn’t disappoint.

We had reserved a site with a Mountain View . When we arrived, we were informed that they had accidentally given the site to another person. They proceeded to put us in a site which appeared to look like a trailer park with long time residents. We paid extra for the site we had selected (2 months in advance). Had we would have had the site we reserved, it might have been a good stay.

The site was narrow and gravel but easy to level. A tree blocked the evening sun. Grass areas for the dogs. Good dog park too. Lots of grasshoppers and flys. Nearby restaurants and gas. 20+ miles out of Pueblo. Bishop’s castle roadside attraction 20 + miles away. Laundry…not sure if our clothes got clean but definitely had to refeed $3.50 into the dryer for incomplete dry. A dollar over poste

I feel so bad saying this but I almost never stayed in another KOA after staying here. There was alot of bugs in my cabin, that was the hardest bed, there was no designated parking spot, and there was no clearly marketed after hours phone numbers, I called the office and emergency number and got no response. I hate being this person, but I marked this KOA as one to never back come to

We check the cabins before arrival and had no bugs inside. If you left door open they probably went in. However, when asked how your stay was you never mentioned any bugs in the cabin. The parking spot is right in front of the cabin, you can't miss it.

We arrived Sunday around 4:50 pm to find the office closed early, which was fine because our site and info was placed outside the office. What was very disappointing was the pool, which should have been open to 6pm was also closed, as well as the mini golf that said it was open until 8pm. After a long day, we were looking forward to enjoying the amenities. Very disappointing.

Sorry to disappoint you. We have been leaving the pool open late most days unless no one is in it then we shut down and cover, so the heat stays in. You could have called us, and we could have opened the mini golf for you. The office was also open until about 6pm on Sunday.

Restrooms were clean and tidy this time. Tree at our site rubbing the side of our motor home. Site was level and staff friendly.
