On April 8, 1959, Tryon Palace reopened its doors to the public as a state museum, sharing North Carolina's colonial past with the nation. This year, Tryon Palace invites you to celebrate 60 years of education, preservation, and inspiration in North Carolina's first state capitol. Join us April 6 and 7 to celebrate Tryon Palace‘s 60th Anniversary with tours and exhibits.
Visitors to the Governor's Palace will catch a glimpse at 1959 New Bern as costumed interpreters bring to life the excitement of Tryon Palace‘s grand opening celebration. Interpreters will share stories of how antiques were acquired, where items were found, and how ladies of New Bern were trained to become “hostesses” in the reconstructed Palace. Bike MS is a 2-day cycling event that raises funds to support people living with multiple sclerosis in eastern North Carolina and throughout the United States. Money raised through this event funds MS research, programs, services, and advocacy. In 2011, over 2,600 participants raised $1,677,423 to create a world free of MS. This year, our goal is to raise $1.7 million!
Bike MS cyclists enjoy two full days of riding through rural eastern North Carolina. Each day, cyclists can choose to ride 30, 50, 75 or 100 miles on fully-supported routes. At the conclusion of each day's ride, cyclists are greeted by cheerful volunteers, a delicious, hot meal, ice cold beverages, and live entertainment. It's a great time, you should join us!
Have you marked your calendar October 6-7, 2018 for the NC Seafood Fest? Chair, Mindy Fitzpatrick, invites YOU to join in on all the fun! Live entertainment, food, and rides are just some of the fun things to do on the Morehead City waterfront.
Check out their facebook page for more information.
