How much does it cost to stay at New Bern KOA?

Rates typically range from $45 to $200 per night, depending on site type, travel dates, and season. More affordable options include tent sites or water/electric back-in RV sites, while premium pull-through RV sites and Deluxe Cabins with full amenities are priced higher.

How do I reserve a campsite at New Bern KOA?

You can reserve a campsite at New Bern KOA online via our official booking page, through the KOA mobile app, or by calling our office at 252-638-2556. We recommend booking at least two months in advance for summer weekends, holidays, and peak seasons to ensure availability.

Do you offer weekly or monthly rates?

Yes, New Bern KOA offers both weekly and monthly RV rates. For weekly stays, visit our Deals page. For longer stays, visit our Extended Stays page.  

Do you offer military or first responder discounts?

Yes, New Bern KOA offers a Heroes discount for active military, veterans, and first responders, including fire, police, and EMS. Mention the Heroes Discount when you call to book or visit our Deals page. 

Do you accept same-day reservations?

Yes, New Bern KOA accepts same-day reservations based on availability. You may book a last-minute site on the KOA app, online, by calling 252-638-2556, or as a walk-in at our main office. We recommend calling ahead during peak summer weekends to confirm site availability before arrival.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in for RV and tent sites is 12:00 PM, while cabin check-in is 3:00 PM. Check-out for all sites, including cabins, is 11:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out may be available for a $25 fee; please call 252-638-2556 in advance to check availability.

What are your camp store and office hours?

The camp store and office hours vary throughout the year, but our standard hours are between 8 AM and 6 PM. 

Site & Accommodation Details

Do you offer full hookup RV sites?

Yes, New Bern KOA offers full hookup RV sites with water, sewer, and 30/50 amp electric service. Choose from pull-thru or back-in sites and premium RV sites with KOA patios. 

What is the maximum RV length you can accommodate?

Our largest pull-through sites can accommodate lengths of up to 128 feet, making this campground suitable for large motorhomes, motorhomes towing vehicles, fifth wheels, and big rigs.

Are there RV age restrictions?

RVs should be well-maintained and in good condition. Monthly stays for guests with units older than 10 years may require prior approval, and guests may be asked to provide photos to ensure the RV meets campground standards.

How many campsites do you have?

New Bern KOA has 113 sites, including 90 RV sites, 16 cabins, and 7 tent sites. 

Do you have cabins?

Yes, guests can choose from Deluxe Cabin rentals with bathrooms and kitchens or Camping Cabins for a more rustic glamping experience. We provide linens in the deluxe cabins, but guests must bring linens for the rustic cabins.

Do you allow tents in all sites?

Tent camping is limited to designated tent sites. Tent sites include water and electricity, a covered shelter, and a picnic table.

Do you have buddy sites?

Yes, buddy sites are available and are the ideal site type for families or groups who want to camp side by side.

Do you offer trash pickup?

Yes! You may place your trash in the dumpsters provided or leave a tied plastic bag at your site post in the morning.

Do you have shaded campsites at your campground?

Yes. New Bern KOA Holiday has many shaded campsites with mature trees that provide natural shade, helping keep RV sites, tent sites, and cabins cooler and more comfortable during the summer months.

Do you have a dump station at New Bern KOA?

Yes, New Bern KOA features an easily accessible RV dump station. The service is free for registered guests. Non-guests and the public may also use the dump station for a fee. 

Do you sell propane?

Yes, New Bern KOA offers propane pumping services for the public and campers. We fill portable grill tanks, RVs, and food trucks. Propane is available daily during store hours. No appointment is necessary; simply pull up to the propane station near the main office. We offer competitive market rates; call our office for pricing.

Where are you located?

The campground is located in New Bern, North Carolina, offering easy access to historic downtown New Bern, Eastern NC attractions and Crystal Coast beaches.

How close are you to downtown New Bern?

New Bern KOA is approximately 5 miles (10 minutes) from historic downtown New Bern and top attractions like the Tryon Palace. This proximity allows guests to easily enjoy historic sites, restaurants, and shopping, and still catch our famous sunsets from the campground pier on the Neuse River.

How close are you to the beach?

Popular Crystal Coast beaches like Atlantic Beach and Emerald Isle are about 45–60 minutes away, making for easy day trips.

Is the campground open year-round?

Yes, New Bern KOA is open year-round, making it a great destination for summer vacations, fall getaways, and mild winter camping in Eastern North Carolina.

What are some nearby attractions to explore while staying with you?  

New Bern is full of charm! You can visit the historic downtown, Tryon Palace, local museums like the Pepsi Museum (New Bern is the birthplace of Pepsi), enjoy water activities on the Neuse River, or enjoy day trips to area beaches like Atlantic Beach and Emerald Isle. Our friendly staff is always happy to share recommendations!

Amenities & Activities

Are there activities for kids?

Yes! New Bern KOA offers an abundance of kid-friendly on-site amenities, activities, and themed weekends throughout the year. Kids love the pool, playground, jump pad, bike rentals, kayak and canoe rentals, gaga ball, gem mine, and more, not to mention a host of scheduled activities like tie-dye, scavenger hunts, and foam machine parties. 

Are there activities for adults?

Yes! Adults can enjoy fishing, kayaking, relaxing by the pool, social events, and exploring nearby destinations like historic New Bern and the Crystal Coast. We also have special event weekends to celebrate Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. 

Do you have a camp store?

Yes, the on-site camp store offers camping essentials like snacks, firewood, ice, and propane, as well as locally curated gifts and goods.

Is there Wi-Fi available?

High-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the park free of charge.

Is there cable TV available?

Cable TV is available. Refer to your guest guide for channel listings.

When is the swimming pool open?

The swimming pool is open seasonally from April through September, weather permitting. It is equipped with a pool lift to ensure accessibility for all guests.

Can you swim in the Neuse River?

Guests are not permitted to swim in Neuse River at New Bern KOA, but guests are welcome to enjoy water sports like kayaking, fishing, and canoeing. 

Is there on-site fishing?

Yes! New Bern KOA has two catch-and-release stocked fishing ponds, a dedicated fish cleaning station, and a 100-foot pier on the Neuse River.

Can I bring a boat? Is there a boat ramp?

Yes, campers are welcome to bring boats. There is an on-site boat ramp suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and smaller boats under 14 feet. We also offer kayak and canoe rentals.

There is a Wildlife Reserve boat ramp about 2 miles from the campground that is suitable for launching larger boats. Guests are welcome to tie up larger vessels in one of the boat slips on our pier.

Does New Bern KOA have an EV charging station?

Yes. We offer on-site EV charging stations for guest convenience.

Are there laundry and bathhouse facilities?

Yes, the campground provides clean, modern bathhouses and on-site laundry facilities available to all guests.

Do you offer golf cart rentals? Can I bring my golf cart?

We do not offer golf cart rentals. Electric golf carts are allowed with a valid proof of insurance. Proof of insurance must be presented at the time of check in. Only licensed and insured drivers may use the golf cart while on the campground.

Policies & Accessibility

Is New Bern KOA dog-friendly?

Yes, New Bern KOA is a dog-friendly campground with no breed restrictions. We welcome all well-behaved dogs regardless of breed. On-site amenities include a Kamp K9 dog park and pet supplies in our camp store. 

What is the pet policy and fee at New Bern KOA?

Pets stay free at all RV sites. There is a $10 nightly fee per pet for cabin stays. Please note that pets are not permitted at tent sites or on the playground and must remain on a leash (maximum 6 feet) when outside your vehicle or rental.

What are the campground quiet hours?

Quiet hours are between 10 PM and 8 AM. 

Do you have accessible or wheelchair-friendly sites and facilities?

Our registration building, camp store, and main bathhouse are wheelchair-accessible. The New Bern KOA pool is ADA compliant and includes a lift.  

Can I book group events or family reunions at New Bern KOA Holiday?  

Absolutely. New Bern KOA welcomes family reunions and large group gatherings. We have group-friendly facilities, including a meeting room. Please contact us for additional information and availability.

Do you allow food delivery to the campground?

Yes. Guests can order delivery directly to the campground using popular apps like Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Grubhub, as well as local restaurants that offer delivery.

For the smoothest experience, include the campground name, your site or cabin number, and clear arrival instructions when placing your order. As a reminder, delivery drivers must also adhere to the 5-mph campground speed limit. 

Do you have recycling?

Yes. We offer recycling and proudly carry the Kamp Green designation! Please place your plastics, paper, glass, aluminum cans and cardboard items in the recycle bin near the dumpster.
