With 275 miles of public waters, there are plenty of fishing spots on the Neuse River. The most popular freshwater fishing region on the Neuse River is between Streets Ferry and New Bern within the Trent River, Upper Broad Creek and Brice Creek tributaries. Many of the river's tributaries feature public boat launching ramps.
If you're staying near New Bern, visit Lawson Creek Park for its free launching ramps on the Trent River. Union Point Park also has a free boat launching ramp. Further downstream, on the north and east sides of the river, the North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission (NCWRC) operates several free boat launching ramps at Dawson Creek, Upper Broad Creek and Oriental. The NCWRC also operates the public-facing Slocum (Havelock) Creek and Hancock Creek ramps on the south side of the river.
