We only stayed one night, and got to the KOA after dark. We left next morning. This KOA is very nice though, and clean. They have some newer sites in the back with new patio furniture. Even had stainless steel fire pits in the newer sites. We got upgraded to one of these newer sites for free! Wish we could have stayed another day to take advantage of upgraded site. Staff super nice.

Very friendly and helpful staff! Campground itself is very clean and well maintained! Close to Mitchell but not too close. Surrounded by farm fields so it's nice and quiet. The main road to it isn't especially noisy at all. We will stay here again if we're in the area. And they delivered a hot pizza to us the evening we arrived! ����

Let me say this is one of the best KOA's we have stayed at. Very friendly staff. Pristine showers, plenty of room in them. Miniature golf was excellent. Wife loved there laundry facilities. All around an excellent experience. Keep up the good work.

We have stayed at the Mitchell KOA a number of times on our travels west. Friendly staff and nice size sites for our motorhome are the main reason.

Flawless Check in, proprietors guided our MH with care, especially watching for trees and clearance during turns. Very clean shower, bathroom & laundry areas. Already have the Mitchell KOA in our favorite places to stay file!

Friendly folks. Sites are a bit close with next door table 10 feet from our rig. Rough night, not because of KOA, but massive storm came through with high winds and rain. Tough to sleep.

The bathroom and showers were some of the nicest we've seen in the many KOAs we've stayed at. We had a nice shaded lot and enjoyed our stay in Mitchell, SD

Place is way over priced, stayed at koa’s with paved sites for half the price, needs serious up grade while beautiful the trees are too big, ground has eroded away so sewer hookups are too high out of the ground preventing natural drainage, place is just old.

Nice park. I appreciate the storm shelters around the perimeter. The mini golf course needs some astroturf glued down on the concrete; the ball moves way too easily and rolls around. The young ladies at the front desk were fun to talk to.

Upon checking in we were greeted by two very nice staff members. They gave us the details of the campground and told us about some of the items for sale in the campstore that were locally sourced. They had pizza to purchase and offered to bake it for us and bring to our site. The bathrooms and laundry room were exceptionally clean!

A beautifully kept KOA and well laid out. All sites are dead flat and the new patio sites look great.

we really like to stay at the Mitchell KOA even if it's only a brief stay. I consider the grounds to be newsworthy they are so thoughtfully planned.

Very clean and the staff was equally friendly. One recommendation would be a sign to encourage guests to not hog all of the washers/dryers in the laundry room at once.

Very nice park with friendly staff. The park is very clean and recommend row D. This section makes this park a Holiday. Gravel parking and roadway well maintianed.

Best koa bathrooms I've ever seen. Campground is well run with a dedicated staff. This place is so much better than other local options as we had tried another campground prior to coming here. The other place was like a hick block party with drunk individuals setting off fire works. We loved our time at Mitchell koa and would recommend them to anyone as they have great shaded spots for tents and have good roads for RVs.

Update June 2026: it is still an excellent stop. Easy access, check-in and helpful and friendly staff. Also, under new management, who are spritzing up the grounds and facilities. The restroom was meticulous. Plenty of shade for those hot South Dakota summer days. Be sure to check out the Corn Palace.
