Stayed on our travel to Wyoming and then back home to Michigan, great campground, staff was so nice and friendly, camp store was well stocked, grounds were beautiful

Mitchell KOA is an exceptionally well run campground. It’s well maintained with very clean restrooms, showers and laundry. The staff at this campground are so nice and very accommodating. I wish all KOA’s were this nice.

Patricia is most accomodating, knowledgable and friendly. Park is clean and quiet. Grass is mowed. Bathrooms are clean and lovely with Mexican hand tooled mirror frames and beautiful talavera sinks. Well stocked store focusing on locally made goods. Good wifi. Great trees, but not too many. We got a good satellite signal. Sites level.

It was the cleanest campground we have ever stayed at. The grounds were so neat and well kept. The bathrooms were spotless. Definitely would recommend it

This was a repeat visit and will become a regular stop on our trek from Tennessee to Washington. Great facility, great management. A++

We only stayed one night, heading home after a trip out west. We've stayed here before, but noticed they've added some new patio sites (which we upgraded to!) and done some general clean-up. It's a nice campground, easy to get to off of the interstate, some nice mowed trails for walking our dogs (in addition to two fenced 20' x 60' off-leash areas), and the hostess was awesome! We'll be back!

People were very friendly and were extremely helpful. Laundry facilities were very clean and also the bathrooms. Sites need more stones so that you aren’t walking on dirt!.

Very relaxing, professional, helpful staff. My GPS ran us thru town. The next exit was much easier getting back on the interstate. Big rig friendly site, plenty of room. Dog friendly! Would stay again.

A great park! Friendly staff, super clean and quiet from road noise. We stayed in a 40’ Class A towing a Jeep with 2 dogs. They had delicious food available too! We would definitely stay again.

Nice new sites. Old ones looked great too. Laundry was ok, but had a problem with a dryer, but they gave us our quarters back, so no problem! Nice walking paths and a convenient Walmart.

We only stayed one night but it was such a wonderful place to stop. The campground was clean and the spaces were space far enough to give each camping spot under your room. Nice shady lots with entertainment area for kids and a nice dog park to let your pets run. We camped in a fifth wheel 30 ft camper but plenty of room for larger rigs and smaller. Very nice place to stay.

Great stay! Very quiet and peaceful. Park is extremely well maintained and very clean! Only downside, and has nothing to do with the KOA, is there were a lot of flies. Not sure if it was the time of year or if it’s normally like that. Regardless I’d definitely stay again.

Best koa bathrooms I've ever seen. Campground is well run with a dedicated staff. This place is so much better than other local options as we had tried another campground prior to coming here. The other place was like a hick block party with drunk individuals setting off fire works. We loved our time at Mitchell koa and would recommend them to anyone as they have great shaded spots for tents and have good roads for RVs.

Update June 2026: it is still an excellent stop. Easy access, check-in and helpful and friendly staff. Also, under new management, who are spritzing up the grounds and facilities. The restroom was meticulous. Plenty of shade for those hot South Dakota summer days. Be sure to check out the Corn Palace.
