First time in a KOA in a long time. Now I’m planning to use them for the rest of my three week vacation. I love the amenities, ease of making reservations and the completely helpful staff!

One of my favorite KOA campgrounds! The staff are pleasant, the sites are level and spacious, and the rural setting is great. Facilities are always clean. The K9 park is big plus there's lots of grass for walking your dog.

Site was small our slide was within 12 inches of the next camper site was not good they had other sites we have stayed at at this resort that were open discussed this with the mgr otherwise was a good stay

We arrived late, and it sure was nice to have our reservation form with a map filled out and the map with a dotted line to our campsite. Made it easy to locate in the dark.

We stayed two nights. One night on the way to Wyoming and one night on the return trip. The location was very convenient for us, both times.We were met by a very friendly and helpful staff. A goo experience!

Omg the improvements are amazing. We had a patio spot on the end and our big dogs romped without bothering anyone. Such a blessing. The store is so well stocked with local products and ever new managers are the best!!! Will be back

One of our go-to stops when headed West or heading home! Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean (like new) showers and bathrooms. And the Corn Palace is fun, if you have the time!

We were only able to spend one night but it was a great and easy visit! The facilities are wonderful and the staff was amazing! Our site was flat and easily accessible. The setting was beautiful. The shower facility was beautiful and very clean. We were there in mid-September on a week night and it was peaceful.

2nd time staying here, rolled in later and we were upgraded to one of the new patio sites! The place is a very clean and quiet place to stay! Management is very helpful and nice to visit with! I would recommend a stay here!

Best koa bathrooms I've ever seen. Campground is well run with a dedicated staff. This place is so much better than other local options as we had tried another campground prior to coming here. The other place was like a hick block party with drunk individuals setting off fire works. We loved our time at Mitchell koa and would recommend them to anyone as they have great shaded spots for tents and have good roads for RVs.

Update June 2026: it is still an excellent stop. Easy access, check-in and helpful and friendly staff. Also, under new management, who are spritzing up the grounds and facilities. The restroom was meticulous. Plenty of shade for those hot South Dakota summer days. Be sure to check out the Corn Palace.
