Really clean and level spot. Bathrooms were spotless and beautiful. The laundry room was well-appointed. I appreciate all the work the new owners are and have done. I also appreciate the clean K9 Kamp runs. This is a really nice KOA, quiet and easy to get in and out of. Look forward to staying again!

Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, grounds were immaculate. Camp store had lots of unusual local.items and was larger than most.

We stayed one night on our way to the Black Hills and will be staying again one night on our way back home. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a patio site (D1) and it was very spacious, clean, and level. I would definitely stay here for an extended time as there is lots to do around Mitchell and the surrounding area. We are looking forward to staying here on our return home.

What a great park. Well cared for and pride of ownership really shows. The patio site was awesome and very well designed. Patricia greeted us and was very welcoming. Great job!

Called to make same day, late arrival reservation & they were very accommodating. Arrived after dark, got into our spot set up and relaxed. Outstanding, clean well kept facility all around. We'll stay here again as travel permits.

Beautiful, spacious, clean, well run, quiet. Can’t say enough about this wonderful place. If we weren’t there in the windy cold of mid-April South Dakota, we’d stay a long time! If we come back to Mitchell, this is our place to stay!

Very nice RV park. I love the fact that they have storm shelters...a HUGE plus for me! The patio site we stayed at was beautiful! Great access time 90 and the town has all the services one would need.

We stayed here during their "soft opening" for an overnight stop. This is the first time I have seen tornado shelters strategically placed around a campground. We have camped all over tornado alley and encountered some pretty scary weather in Nebraska, Texas and Arkansas. One night we huddled in a block outhouse! Yuk. I hope these shelters are never used but they gave me great peace of mind.

Just thought it was kind of weird, and uncomfortable for the women's bathroom to already be winterized & unavailable for use, even though you were still open. Using the men's bathroom as a unisex facility - toilets & showers - was not going to happen. Little disappointed.

Everything was in tip-top shape, and we liked the new concrete pads next to each site. This is in a group of trees, so even though it was a breezy night, the trees kept things calm at the campsites. A very enjoyable stay, thank you!

Amazing owners and staff. Welcomed us and really took care of us. This is my 7th year staying at this KOA for my annual pheasant hunt with my son. The new owners are great and the campground is better than it was 7 years ago. Lots of great improvements. Thanks and see you next year.

This is a beautiful facility, the people were very nice. However, when I walked from the store to my camper, I noticed the "corn hole" game boards proudly emblazoned with that stupid snake and the saying "DON'T TREAD ON ME". It seems to me that a family place like KOA should keep their politics private.

All nice but would like to more spacing between Class A motor homes when there is very few people staying there. No need to have crowding at this time of the near the end of the season.

So nice and clean. Management friendly and welcoming. Bathroom/showers spotless and beautiful. Have stayed at this KOA a couple of times and I'm never disappointed. They have expanded their store also and carry local foods. Highly recommend

Very clean bathrooms, well stocked office including many local items, and sites were nice, level, and well spaced with no highway noise. Patricia and Brian were a pleasure at check in and any questions about attractions or the local area. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Best koa bathrooms I've ever seen. Campground is well run with a dedicated staff. This place is so much better than other local options as we had tried another campground prior to coming here. The other place was like a hick block party with drunk individuals setting off fire works. We loved our time at Mitchell koa and would recommend them to anyone as they have great shaded spots for tents and have good roads for RVs.

Update June 2026: it is still an excellent stop. Easy access, check-in and helpful and friendly staff. Also, under new management, who are spritzing up the grounds and facilities. The restroom was meticulous. Plenty of shade for those hot South Dakota summer days. Be sure to check out the Corn Palace.
