Great site for big rigs. We had lots of room and spacious outdoor patio space. Staff was very friendly and the park was well maintained. Will definitely stay there again

Beautiful well maintained park with mature trees in each site. Sites are very level. Store is well stocked with options and necessities. The manager does a great job choosing what items to sell and puts a lot of thought and care into it. She has many local vendor items - wine, ice cream, lotions and candles, tons of cool stickers and magnets, local jewelry. Thank you!!!

Very clean campground. A little expensive compared to other options in the area. Would check out other options before coming here next time. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Camp store appeared to be well stocked. Sites are a bit too close. Neighbors sewer was two feet from my steps.

The gentleman who checked us in...and led us to our site...was awesome. We only needed to stay one night; everything was available!

We had a change of plans and didn't arrive until after dark and had to leave at dawn, but from what we could see, Mitchell KOA offers many amenities, had very clean restrooms with private showers, and a really nice park overall! We will definitely be back!

Very friendly staff and great accommodations! Laundry room was clean and the campground was quiet and comfortable! Great overnight stop or layover for a rest and recoup from traveling. Thank you again!

They were kind enough to give up a spot when we pulled up last minute. We love KoA so I knew it would be good. They even had some delicious brats that they sold in their camp store.

This is one of the best KOA’s that we stay at. Sites are spacious and level, facilities are well equipped and clean and great areas to walk the dogs. This campground is one that it’s obvious the owners take pride in their facility and the camping experience they provide.

We did not have a reservation and you were able to accommodate our 45’ motor coach. The campground was beautiful and easy to get in and out. We enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Like most Journey KOA’s, you know to expect cleanliness and all amenities and close proximity to your route. KOA is our “go to” when we need a nice stay. We have stayed with KOA from one end of this great country to another. They are reasonably priced and managed and cared for by professionals, Mitchell KOA met every standard we have come to expect.

We had a pull-through patio site and it was awesome. Lots of room to walk the dogs. Excellent staff. We were extremely pleased.

Friendly staff very knowledgeable and helpful emmaculant grounds large spacious sites. Great Internet nice gift shop and clean bathrooms. We stayed twice two weeks apart and seen several improvements the back lot was recently mowed into a nice large dog walk / nature walk overlooking the prairie and around the newly arrorated pond which is very nice for large dogs to stretch out a bit. Best koa bathrooms I've ever seen. Campground is well run with a dedicated staff. This place is so much better than other local options as we had tried another campground prior to coming here. The other place was like a hick block party with drunk individuals setting off fire works. We loved our time at Mitchell koa and would recommend them to anyone as they have great shaded spots for tents and have good roads for RVs.

Update June 2026: it is still an excellent stop. Easy access, check-in and helpful and friendly staff. Also, under new management, who are spritzing up the grounds and facilities. The restroom was meticulous. Plenty of shade for those hot South Dakota summer days. Be sure to check out the Corn Palace.
