Stayed twice on our trip to Minnesota. One of the nicest KOAs we've stayed at. Neet, clean, quiet. Great store too.

Loved this campground! The people were very energetic and polite. The grounds were kept well and clean. Great facilities all around. Highly recommend. We were in a large rig, towing.

Relaxing. It was sad to see a lot of campers there didn’t clean up after their own dogs. We shouldn’t have had to spend a better part of our morning and evening cleaning up after those dogs and ours. It’s right there in the rules that we had to do this so be mindful of that. There’s a lot of things to do in Mitchell! Go to Lake Mitchell and the prehistoric village!

The hosts are really friendly and made us feel very welcome. The grounds and facilities are immaculate. There is a lovely patio with a grill that we used to cook our dinner. The bathrooms are the best decorated of any KOA with colorful ceramic sinks and mirrors. There is a nice full length mirror as well. The store is fully stocked! Best KOA ever.

Wonderful! The showers were luxurious. The showers were the best of anyplace I have stayed. I loved the outdoor common space with games, grill and sitting area. It was also nice to be able to buy local wine, cheese, jam etc. The place was clean and well maintained.

The best KOA we have ever utilized. Good spacing between sites with grass, very clean and the camp store carries unique local items.....oh, and the staff exceptionally nice. They have new cement pads with Adirondack chairs and grass for pets. Make this your stop if you are camping in the area.]

Stayed in a camper cabin, the bed was comfortable and the room very neat. Enjoyed sitting on the porch swing to do a little reading. Very friendly and informative staff. Always enjoy staying at this KOA.

One of my favorite KOA campgrounds! The staff are pleasant, the sites are level and spacious, and the rural setting is great. Facilities are always clean. The K9 park is big plus there's lots of grass for walking your dog.

Site was small our slide was within 12 inches of the next camper site was not good they had other sites we have stayed at at this resort that were open discussed this with the mgr otherwise was a good stay

We arrived late, and it sure was nice to have our reservation form with a map filled out and the map with a dotted line to our campsite. Made it easy to locate in the dark.

We stayed two nights. One night on the way to Wyoming and one night on the return trip. The location was very convenient for us, both times.We were met by a very friendly and helpful staff. A goo experience!

Best koa bathrooms I've ever seen. Campground is well run with a dedicated staff. This place is so much better than other local options as we had tried another campground prior to coming here. The other place was like a hick block party with drunk individuals setting off fire works. We loved our time at Mitchell koa and would recommend them to anyone as they have great shaded spots for tents and have good roads for RVs.

Update June 2026: it is still an excellent stop. Easy access, check-in and helpful and friendly staff. Also, under new management, who are spritzing up the grounds and facilities. The restroom was meticulous. Plenty of shade for those hot South Dakota summer days. Be sure to check out the Corn Palace.
