Very clean, very nice people running this one. They lead you right to your spot. One night stay but we noticed they stayed open late to accommodate a large group of kids traveling to ensure all their needs were met. They go out of their way to be great hosts.

The camp host he was very accommodating upgraded me to a campsite closer to the bathroom and shower house. I enjoyed my stay there. I try to stay mostly at KOA's and some of the camp host or not as friendly accommodating but he was very friendly and accommodating recommended 100%

From the moment I approached the office counter, I was warmly greeted and made to feel welcome. Our site, and the entire campground, was impeccably cared for. We’ve been traveling for a couple months and have stayed at many KOAs. This was, by far, the nicest campground we’ve stayed at. We’d definitely recommend Mitchell KOA to others.

We have stayed here several times. It’s a great place. Very well maintained and the patio site are great. Brian remembered us from last spring. Definitely will stay there again!!

The staff was great. The campground was neat and very well kept. If there were more attractions around Mitchell I would definitely have spent more than one night but we were heading towards Yellowstone.

Very clean sites and amenities, plus a very nice staff that were helpful beyond measure. I'd recommend them to friends and family as well as not think twice about visiting again on our travels. A quiet campground in among the trees that's a great place to take a rest.

The campground was very clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and efficient. Local food products like ice cream, cheeses, pizza, and craft beer were available for purchase. This was the best campground we stayed at so far either koa or not.

This is a wonderful KOA. Everything is nice and clean and the people are very nice and friendly. The improvements that they keep doing are very well planned out and look amazing. The grounds are very well kept.

Campground staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The campground is just far enough from the interstate to give you a nice quiet and relaxing stay. If we would have had more time we would have stayed longer.

Early in the camping season, only handful of other campers, we just wanted a weekend away to make sure everything as working properly, yet the camp ground staff decided to put someone right next to us. While there are at least 11 sites that identify as 70 feet and only 2 campers over 40 feet (not included the sites with concrete patio) . I guess staff was punishing me for not using patio site

Really clean and level spot. Bathrooms were spotless and beautiful. The laundry room was well-appointed. I appreciate all the work the new owners are and have done. I also appreciate the clean K9 Kamp runs. This is a really nice KOA, quiet and easy to get in and out of. Look forward to staying again!

Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, grounds were immaculate. Camp store had lots of unusual local.items and was larger than most.

Fantastic facilities, seem really new. Nice campground overall. Cabins have ok bed and no microwave. The website did say that there was EV charging but that was actually not the case.

We stayed one night on our way to the Black Hills and will be staying again one night on our way back home. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a patio site (D1) and it was very spacious, clean, and level. I would definitely stay here for an extended time as there is lots to do around Mitchell and the surrounding area. We are looking forward to staying here on our return home.

Called to make same day, late arrival reservation & they were very accommodating. Arrived after dark, got into our spot set up and relaxed. Outstanding, clean well kept facility all around. We'll stay here again as travel permits.

Beautiful, spacious, clean, well run, quiet. Can’t say enough about this wonderful place. If we weren’t there in the windy cold of mid-April South Dakota, we’d stay a long time! If we come back to Mitchell, this is our place to stay!

Very nice RV park. I love the fact that they have storm shelters...a HUGE plus for me! The patio site we stayed at was beautiful! Great access time 90 and the town has all the services one would need.

Best koa bathrooms I've ever seen. Campground is well run with a dedicated staff. This place is so much better than other local options as we had tried another campground prior to coming here. The other place was like a hick block party with drunk individuals setting off fire works. We loved our time at Mitchell koa and would recommend them to anyone as they have great shaded spots for tents and have good roads for RVs.

Update June 2026: it is still an excellent stop. Easy access, check-in and helpful and friendly staff. Also, under new management, who are spritzing up the grounds and facilities. The restroom was meticulous. Plenty of shade for those hot South Dakota summer days. Be sure to check out the Corn Palace.
