This is the second time camping here. I like the large grassy areas, and the large dog park. They have done some recent improvements here with the addition of a campfire and seating area out back. The store was well stocked with locally produced food items, such as honey, jams, and beer. They have a nicely set up playground for the kids and mini golf. There is also a friendly resident cat.

Our stay was very nice, a little road noise at times. I wish the bathroom/shower area was a little more private. The staff were very helpful and friendly!

We had a very long travel day, so we were tired, ordered their pizza, for a very thin crust 12” pizza, it’s $20, the owners are nice enough but watch out, that $20 very thin crust pizza is not worth $3.

KOA staff friendly. Campground clean and well maintained. I don’t recommend the $20 wine. It tastes like cheap wine. Save your money and buy good wine for $20. We drank it because, well we paid $20+ for it! Also, I don’t recommend the pizza! Convenient yes but it tastes like a cheap frozen pizza from grocery store for less than $5.00 and we paid $20 per pizza! Definitely not worth it!

After spotting a couple of tree branches, that had been previously cut, hanging down just above our trailer, I mentioned it to the staff member, that guided us in. She contacted the manager and came by to check things out, they were missed when trimming the tree, prior to the season's opening. Otherwise, a very nice and well maintained park.

Great visit! The staff were very helpful and awesome to talk to. We needed propane and they picked up and delivered to our trailer. Good store with a wide variety of local beer and ice cream. Just a few miles from Mitchell. Would recommend for a short or long stay!

The staff was amazing! Welcoming; accommodating and very thourough. The cabin was very clean, had comfortable beds, great up-to date A/C & Heat, extremely well maintained. Bathrooms were outstanding! They were very clean and decorated beautifully. The community BBQ patio was a appreciated and well maintained too. We didnt have a chance to play any of the outdoor games but will next time!

Cabins are always nice & bath-rest house always clean. Very nice property. Pizza is overpriced & bland. The camp is nice but it feels “less-friendly” somehow, compared to how it used to be. But we w old def stay here again .

We stayed one night in our van. The bathrooms are nice & spacious! We had all you can eat pancakes for breakfast. It was very good breakfast & affordable. The staff were very friendly!

What a pleasnt surprise the Mitchell KOA was! The grounds are so nice and extremely well maintained. We had a patio site which was really beautiful! We took advantage of the large Solo Stove firepit one night and did s’mores. The owners and staff are all so sweet and the campground and store are run very efficiently. Highly recommend - and go see the Corn Palace! It’s super cool and very uniqu

Very nice, clean sites. Lots of open space to walk. Dog pens are large and grassy. My German Shepard loved to run end to end after being on a leash for 4 days. Hope we get a k here again. Excellent hosts.

Very friendly staff. Nice long site, but very narrow, we chose to not upgrade to the new patio sites. We had fhu 50 amp, good utilities and upon checking were told wifi was good for streaming, which was a nice surprise

Best koa bathrooms I've ever seen. Campground is well run with a dedicated staff. This place is so much better than other local options as we had tried another campground prior to coming here. The other place was like a hick block party with drunk individuals setting off fire works. We loved our time at Mitchell koa and would recommend them to anyone as they have great shaded spots for tents and have good roads for RVs.

Update June 2026: it is still an excellent stop. Easy access, check-in and helpful and friendly staff. Also, under new management, who are spritzing up the grounds and facilities. The restroom was meticulous. Plenty of shade for those hot South Dakota summer days. Be sure to check out the Corn Palace.
