The camp hosts were awesome, great store and location. Everyone was so friendly and kept the place very clean. The local beer, meat and cheese in the store was also a great addition. We will stop by again one day.

We only stayed one night but our stay was very pleasant. The sites were shaded by trees and each had picnic tables and fire rings. The staff were extremely welcoming. Their store carried local meats, cheeses, beer, wine and ice cream! Definitely a place we will stay again.

The bathrooms were immaculate and very trendy in decor; even had a rain shower style showerhead. Patio, gas grill and dishwashing station were also immaculate. These are by far the cleanest camp facilities we’ve ever seen.

The cleanest and nicest KOA we’ve ever stayed at. The staff were extremely friendly. Close to interstate but far enough that you don’t get highway noise. Great stay. We will be back.

Somebody threw fireworks at/ under our camper at 11:45pm while my family was sleeping. I'm sure it was a stupid prank, but I did not feel safe as a result.

Mitchell KOA rocks! It has been the perfect stop for our east and westbound journeys since 2017. Several nice, long patio sites have recently been constructed, and the length of each site is now available on the website, very helpful. It was a pleasure meeting Syver this trip. He was very helpful, knowledgeable, and pleasant. See you next year!

Campground was very clean, shady and quiet. Bathrooms were very clean with modern, attractive sinks and mirrors. Friendly helpful staff. Looking forward to their swimming pool, but disappointed that pool is no longer there

Outstanding. So many adult toys to play with, cornhole and tick tack toe. Great shade trees and Level spots. Kudos to who ever designed the bathrooms. They are beautiful and so clean. What a great koa. Would definitely stop again

This is one of the best KOAs that I have stayed at. Well run, friendly staff, ultra clean restrooms, and easy access. A quiet location, little or no highway noise.Highly recommend.

Very nice and friendly place. The managers were super friendly and very talkative. They have the most Beautiful and clean bathhouses in the KOA arena. That’s my vote. One exit to Mitchell, SD and the Worlds Only Corn Palace.

Good place for a quick overnight stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Site was good, spacing was about average but site was well kept up. Well stocked camp store with local food, snacks and drinks. You have to try the ice cream!

The staff were terrific. Power near front of sites. Stupid. Approached by a man who started haranguing me about no parking on the grass, before I was parked! This happened while I was in the midst of coordinating parking a big rig. Pretty stupid to insist on interrupting someone while they’re hooking up or parking. Had to ask if he was the owner. Said he was. What a buffoon.

Very clean and making improvements. We were put in a patio sight that was brand new. It was very nice with good furniture and a Solo fire pit.

Staff was great, but full hookups equals water, elec and sewer. Made reservation via phone. Reservation confirmation said full hookups ups, arrived and we had water and elec only. Fine for an overnight, might have been rough if we had stayed longer.

Best koa bathrooms I've ever seen. Campground is well run with a dedicated staff. This place is so much better than other local options as we had tried another campground prior to coming here. The other place was like a hick block party with drunk individuals setting off fire works. We loved our time at Mitchell koa and would recommend them to anyone as they have great shaded spots for tents and have good roads for RVs.

Update June 2026: it is still an excellent stop. Easy access, check-in and helpful and friendly staff. Also, under new management, who are spritzing up the grounds and facilities. The restroom was meticulous. Plenty of shade for those hot South Dakota summer days. Be sure to check out the Corn Palace.
