Office staff were wonderful. Sites well maintained. Pleased and surprised to see even tables cleaned between guest stays. Farm products for sale in office a plus.

With our big rig, it was nice to get a guide in! Let's be honest, it's the bathrooms that make this location a hot spot. They are roomy, shelves in the shower for everything + THE SPA RAIN SHOWER HEADS were a treat. I always send my husband in first to see if I'll be showering in the RV or in the facilities and he canme back with the most glowing review. Close to anything you need. Will be back!

We loved our deluxe site with the patio! Everyone was very friendly! We walked the dogs around the cornfield in the back and that was very pleasant! Thank you KOA

This was our first time at this KOA but it will not be our last. This KOA is rated as a Journey but could easily be upgraded to a Holiday if they had a pool. Clean, well maintained, spacious sites, easy access, and local meats and ice cream available for sale at their store. Can’t forget to mention the friendly staff.

My sis had stayed at Mitchell koa several years ago.. warned me it was awful and dirty. Mych to my pleasant surprise it was clean, welcoming and beautiful!!! I couldn’t wait to tell her!

We only stayed one night but grounds were clean & staff friendly & it was easy to find right off the highway. They were nice enough to let us check in early too.

I like the KOA campsites. They are clean and have many activities. Check in/out is simple. My only complaint is that I wish the showers were individual and behind locked doors. I was uneasy showering in a room that anyone could walk into and some creep was harassing my son while he was t showering. Not the camps fault that this person was like that, but definitely something they could prevent.

Nice campground for a quick one night stop or even a couple day stay. The new patio sites are great.... large pull-throughs for easy in and out with very nice furniture and a solo fire pit. I would not hesitate to stop again.

Beautiful RV Park. We were in site 70, which was nice and long and good space from neighbors. Roads were tight to navigate with our 5th wheel within the park. So quiet here! Hwys to get there have alot of construction and directions took us in a very road about way to get to the park.

Severe weather caused a late arrival for me but the staff was more than accommodating. They were in the office and moving tree branches outside for me when I arrived close to 8pm!

Very nice, well maintained KOA. Convenient to I-90. Great bathroom/shower house and laundry. The small storm shelters placed around the campground was unique and especially appreciated in this area.

Mitchell KOA is the perfect place to stay when visiting Mitchell, South Dakota. They bathrooms are clean and conveniently located. The RV spaces are well shaded. Every time I am in town, this is where I choose to stay.

It was a quick stop over but a very nice one. The park was very nicely laid out and the staff was very helpful. We had to do laundry and the place was spotless. We are on a trip across America and KOA’s are ore favorite.

The grounds are beautiful and the workers are super nice. Why the bad rating? It stunk REALLY bad because of their sewage lagoon. It is close to the dog park and my husband got a look at it. It has green scum on it and it looks like the aeration equipment doesn't work well. If they could fix that I would give this place a 5 star rating all day long.

Best koa bathrooms I've ever seen. Campground is well run with a dedicated staff. This place is so much better than other local options as we had tried another campground prior to coming here. The other place was like a hick block party with drunk individuals setting off fire works. We loved our time at Mitchell koa and would recommend them to anyone as they have great shaded spots for tents and have good roads for RVs.

Update June 2026: it is still an excellent stop. Easy access, check-in and helpful and friendly staff. Also, under new management, who are spritzing up the grounds and facilities. The restroom was meticulous. Plenty of shade for those hot South Dakota summer days. Be sure to check out the Corn Palace.
