A very nice KOA. The camp hosts were friendly and helped recommend a few good places to eat in Mitchell. Would definitely stay there again. This KOA is a great location into Mitchell if your needing to stock up on supplies.

Very friendly hosts. Fantastic, clean bathroom facilities. Great place to stay (we had a tent). Out of our 15 campgrounds during a long road trip among the best. Compliments!

Pull thru sites are ideal for quick overnight stays when you want to hit the road early the next day if they are set up in a way that you don’t have to unhitch a 5th wheel from your truck. However all the sites in the pull thru row were so off level that everyone in the row had to unhitch. Not what you are looking for in a pull thru site. Also the sites were on top of each other and too close.

Great location for our overnight stay. The highway is nearby, but we really didn't hear it much at the campground. Nice level site with lots of trees. Super friendly staff. Only issue was the power pole in our pull-thru was far from the back of our trailer - we had to use an extension cord (we have one, so it wasn't a big deal).

It was only overnight but they were friendly & helpful. It has a cute little store with all kinds of locally sourced things like ice cream, jam, syrups, wine, cheese & deli meats. They have a little game room & a laundry room. It’s a very well kept RV park. We would definitely stay there again.

Camp host was very accommodating to our group of six. They placed us all right next to each other. We were going to arrive 30 minutes early so we called and they allowed us to check in early. Camp host are the best and really friendly. Our sites were nice and long for our big rigs. Our group loved the gathering area where they played corn hole. The laundromat was great.

Stayed 2 times on way out & way back home from vacation. Called on way back 40 miles out & were able to book a night stay. Manager stayed late for us & someone else coming yet after closing. The grounds are well kept and very nice shaded & all pull thurs. The restrooms were the nicest I have seen in a campground. Beautiful sinks of Mexican decor. Showers were so nice clean & changing room.

Nicest kamp store I’ve seen, with a good selection of local products, including beer. Decent sized dog park, and large grounds for walking. Friendly staff that makes you feel welcome.

Loved the huge old trees! The plantings in front of the office were gorgeous. I loved the fact that they had all kinds of local products! Our site was spacious and level. If we come that way again, we will surely stay here.

From the moment we drove in we knew we picked the best park to stay at. The folks in the office were amazing and the store has such a great selection!! Once we were checked in they took us to our space and assisted us while we parked. A little later we went back to the store. They offer home made pizza’s and ice cream. Both were amazing. We will definitely stay at the Mitchell KOA again.

Great campground. Front desk personnel very friendly and helpful. Good amounts of gravel all over so no mud or dust. Great company store with local goods. Best bathrooms we have used in ANY KOA! Real convenient to town. Really glad we chose this KOA.

We booked the same day for one night. They were very friendly and helpful with using my points. The restrooms and showers were the cleanest ones that I had ever seen in a KOA.

Bathroom and campground was immaculate. Had some trees for shade. Sites were pretty close together and a bit muddy. Dog park was too small for a golden. Lots of outdoor games and a large patio to relax.

Stayed at the Mitchell KOA on our way to and from the Black Hills. Very clean and relaxing KOA. Would highly recommend.

Best koa bathrooms I've ever seen. Campground is well run with a dedicated staff. This place is so much better than other local options as we had tried another campground prior to coming here. The other place was like a hick block party with drunk individuals setting off fire works. We loved our time at Mitchell koa and would recommend them to anyone as they have great shaded spots for tents and have good roads for RVs.

Update June 2026: it is still an excellent stop. Easy access, check-in and helpful and friendly staff. Also, under new management, who are spritzing up the grounds and facilities. The restroom was meticulous. Plenty of shade for those hot South Dakota summer days. Be sure to check out the Corn Palace.
